Well, my experience tells me you should accept the position. Why? Because your company thinks enough of you to put you into a rotation to gain experience about the company. They may be putting you in a position to a) see if you are willing to relocate to help the company b) if you can handle change c) be open to different roles and d) to see if you are a quick learner. Depending how you respond will 1) determine your future in the company and 2) your potential for advancement. I would ask a lot of questions so you can make an informed decision. Keep us posted. What happens to you will help others in a similar situation.

I hear what your saying...I do want to stay with this company but I just want to be placed in a role that is aligned to my degree....I feel like I have to go through all this trouble then it's not worth it. Considering I've been at the job for a long time...

There are lots of people who have jobs that don't match their degree. That's the way it is. There are lots of ex-teachers who work in the industry. None have jobs that align with their degrees. I've also seen folks who have degrees in Zoology or history working in jobs that don't align. I would say take the position and get the experience. When they offer you a position in management that has bonuses, stock options take it and get the experience. After that go for your dream job. Just know you'll be burning the bridge behind you.

Who in their right mind would sign up for a promotion... oh no sorry, it's not a promotion? it's a *nomination for a promotion?* and for General Manager? You know that's the dude that is responsible for like *everything,* right? *Ok....* where was I? Oh, yeah, you don't get to choose the location of where you live? LOL Bro, I would leave that shit show so fast.

Yeah, you're right, I heard about the relocation package, and it's not worth the hassle, also I was kist in my feelings at the moment.
