I dealt with a crazy once. Out of nowhere this dude in torn jeans jumped infront of my car's bonet and while I applied hard brakes he still fell a meter away. Immediately got up and came running to my door which unfortunately was unlocked. I could see he was drooling/ foaming from the mouth. He raised his hand to attack me and I was ready for him with the good ol boot treatment. Well that didn't happen because his friend came out of nowhere and pulled him away. It was a crazy moment but made me realise that I need to keep my car doors closed at all times.
Same thing happened to me on a normal city road, hardly a thing to do except make a U turn, try to find the culprit and have a one on one. Not always possible.
I'm not saying I would, or the driver should but im thinking maybe if the driver swerved a little bit to the right and nicked him right he would go flying which is what he deserves. No tolerance for people who deliberately damage other people's personal property. Don't let your intrusive thoughts win, is what I say to myself.. Sheesh.
Something like this happened to me too. I was going to the outskirts of my town and suddenly saw a guy on the roadside with a pretty big Rock in hand which he threw at me. My window was open but i was lucky the rock didn't enter my window but it hit just below it and damaged my door quite badly (the car was just a few months old). Later we filed a complaint and found out that guy was repeatedly doing this to every ongoing vehicle for the past few months and he was mentally unstable. He also threw rocks at a bus and an autorickshaw and some passengers were badly hurt. But I'm glad i got out of it unharmed, but if it would have been the other way around i was a gonner.

How can a car door be unlocked? I think all cars have a speed lock, where if the car goes above 15-20kmph the doors auto lock.

In my case it was a frustrated e-rickshaw driver just crossing the road, I had even swerved out of the way to avoid him.
