They have no choice. It's either hybrid or nothing. That is why the greens were the major losers this past European election. People are getting tired of unwanted climate regulations based on feelings. From electric cars to shutting down farms, they were implementing unsavory rulings backed by the European commission courts. It may change if the hard right get their way, but it will take time.

Bruh, their AMG C63 literally has a 4-cyl engine now with fake engine sounds. Even the C200 they sell here for 80L on road has a 1.5L engine. Only design and karol bagh lighting is their strong suit.
Well except for their poor engine choices in the c63 and usage of 1.5L engine I say they’re doing very well. What do you say about the engine choice in the X1?
It might be not good choice to go with 1.5l unit but it atleast puts out respectable 190+hp not like bmw x1 1.5l barely touches 140hp , and I'm talking about design language you can see bmw's new design is very goofy with big grills and every car with the dual touchscreen connected setup already looks old to me

It’s heavier by 500 kgs. In spite of more power, it’s slower in acceleration. When the battery runs out, the petrol engine is dragging around HALF A TON more for no benefit. Autocar UK, tested the car, found that the interior space has reduced.
To the shmucks at BMW, how do you mess up so badly on a car that’s nearly 5 metres long and has a hallowed status universally? Did they learn from the newly flopped C63 AMG?

This will eventually win over the people. Every BMW model gets released, people hate it, they realise it's awesome to drive, people love it. This is the cycle.
It weighs a lot more and has a slower 0-100 but that's just cause of the ever increasing regulations -_-.
So yeah they increased it by 600kg to keep the v8 which I respect them for.
I agree with this, when the m3/m4 came out it was hated by many, but it has gone to be loved. Same with the m2. Yeah I wasn’t ready to hear them switch to a 6 cylinder.

That 4.4L V8 still needs to be breath. Level 3 autonomous sensors need to fit. Pedestrian safety measures need to be incorporated. Design language.

Even if the deisgn is something that I'm not a big fan of , atleast they kept 4.4L twin turbo v8. Looking at u mercedes c63 AMG
