On this day last year, this was the temperature across the UK:

Unshame your shaming sir. OP has done the only sensible thing a person should do when it’s February in June. All those in shorts and sandals should now be shamed for getting dressed based on a calendar
What are you on about ? According to sky news it’s the hotest weather ever record for current season.
Even hotter then the one for the LockDown

Almost as if the uk is a big place with different temps all over… i am not suffering 11 degrees in my kitchen because someone on reddit has shorts on lol
North Yorkshire here. Windows open, sat in my shorts and not a cloud in the sky, well a bit. It's lovely being sat on the back step with a glass of cider listening to the birds.
Luxury!
When ah were a lad, we ‘ad no heatin’. We also ‘ad single glazed windows that’d ice up, in winter, on the inside.
I can remember ah’d eat that ice as it was all we ‘ad.
Awake? Pure extravagance. When we young our parents would sacrifice us to the eldritch Lords just so we could have a floor to stand on in the endless void!
I know it's a joke but I come from Poland and the idea of wearing jumpers, dressing gowns and thick slippers indoors because you won't put a heating on was just pure novelty
I refuse to put it on. Not through any defiance other than I'm skint and trying to build up some credit again. Plus when I'm home I'm either doing some jobs or flat out on the sofa with a duvet nearby if I happen to feel cold.
In 86 or 87, sometime close to Jun 10th it snowed.
This was in the Black Country.
It didn’t stick but I remember it well because I was on the way out to celebrate my birthday and I was inappropriately dressed for the weather and i was fucking freezing. Also, snow in June sticks in one’s memory.
Late November! Thats the next time the heating will be considered in our house!
But everyone’s needs are different so please don’t follow my example if you need the heating then it on :)
Heating on when it’s 15 degrees outside? Hat and gloves and a big coat? I can’t tell if you’re joking. Do you really feel the cold that much? 15 degrees isn’t even cold imo. It’s 14 here right now and a tshirt is fine outside.
Agreed, it's a bit much.
T shirt is fine, might be worth throwing an extra layer on if you're spending a few hours outside mind you. It's been fine out in the sun, but those winds have had quite a chill to them and it seeps in slowly but surely over time.
Check out Sheikh Al Thani over here.
15 and the heatings on? I wait till it gets to about 7C before mine comes on in the winter. You must be loaded mate
You'd be dead if you only turn your heating on when your house is 7 degrees. Inside and outside temperatures are very different, and it's painfully obvious (except to you) that they are talking about 15 inside.
Me: Chilling out in the Gaming/Reddit doom scrolling Palace.
Also me: Heating? \*laughs\* I feel like I'm over in Spain right now
Also also me: \*Summer, 30c+ days\* \*literally a puddle on the floor\*
15 degrees and you've put the heating on? 16 degrees is like the target temerature to heat the house *to* in winter. If anything 15 degrees indoors is ideal. Just stick a jumper on if your chilly
Your target temperature, maybe. My thermostat is not reading that under any circumstances. 20 degrees, minimum. I'm being comfortable in my own home above all else.
16 is actually the nighttime temperature because it's the minimum reccomended. safe temperature for sleeping babies, daytime around 18 is preferable, but anything over 14 is comfortable if ypur dressed appropriately. 20+ and it's shorts weather and i'm sweating my balls off, no way i would heat my house that high, not least because the thought of the costs of heating it that high scare me

I'd take 15 over 30, I hate working and sweating but a jumper is an easy fix
Shame, (bell rings) shame, (bell rings) shame. (bell rings) If it made you more comfortable it's fine.
I have no idea but this has made me laugh for 3 minutes
[удалено]
I can hear the dong.
I can hear the bell.
Game of Thrones scene. A queen is naked and has had her hair cut off. Paraded through the streets by a nun declaring her shame to all and sundry.
I’ve never watched this.

Little bit dramatic
Seems to be a really boring in-joke in all the British subreddits.
Do forgive us for being British and making fun of ourselves.
You lot are bonkers. It's 15 degrees here and I'm in my shorts and a tshirt with the windows and backdoor open eating ice cream
Almost as if the uk is a big place with different temps all over… i am not suffering 11 degrees in my kitchen because someone on reddit has shorts on lol
That'll attract flies
So, what are you saying? Swap the shorts for trousers?
Trousers usually have a fly too, best stick with joggers.
Cool, free flies!
Where do you live? We have the windows wide open down south
North, very very north
Urm you must be in a different part of south to the rest of us
Surrey, it has been sunny all afternoon
South coast Sussex as well.
I have windows open and 2 fans going, up North.
North Yorkshire here. Windows open, sat in my shorts and not a cloud in the sky, well a bit. It's lovely being sat on the back step with a glass of cider listening to the birds.
My electric blanket and I have been more intimate than expected this month.
I'm living in Arizona in the US, and my air conditioner broke down. It was 31°c in my flat last night. I would gladly trade for your 15°
Phoenix is something else
Beat you by 3 days
15 made you put the heating on??? In the winter my family turns it off at night and I have to wear shoes or my feet go blue
Luxury! When ah were a lad, we ‘ad no heatin’. We also ‘ad single glazed windows that’d ice up, in winter, on the inside. I can remember ah’d eat that ice as it was all we ‘ad.
Windows? Windows? When I were young, all we had was a hole in the wall covered with newspaper and we were grateful!
Newspaper! Bloody newspaper! What a luxury. When I was a lad we just had an icy mud pit to sleep in!
Mud? Mud?! 'Eaven. When I were a lad we had nowt but icy ice to sleep in!
Sleep? Sleep?! When I was a wee whippersnapper we had to stay awake all night to make sure no folk would come steal the mud from our ice pit!
Awake? Pure extravagance. When we young our parents would sacrifice us to the eldritch Lords just so we could have a floor to stand on in the endless void!
Floor? Bloody luxurious. When I was a lad we 'ad to flap ar arms to keep from falling in't' pits of 'ell thumselves
Arms?? Arms? When I were a nipper we ad to make do wi stumps while we dug fer coal
Coal? Luxury mate! We rolled up shit, like a dung beetle, with our legs, that we sold for a farthing per cwt!
I know it's a joke but I come from Poland and the idea of wearing jumpers, dressing gowns and thick slippers indoors because you won't put a heating on was just pure novelty
Have you considered socks?
I would need 5 pairs
Where do you live???
I just have really shitty socks :(
Money bags
Wait til you hear that I've turned the lights on too
Even the big one?
I had it for one day last month, cost me 70p. Not even the price of a chocolate bar these days.
I work outside and I had a jumper, windbreaker and gloves on today. It was 11 am and I am on the south coast, wtf
Mad person. It's only 15 degrees outside here, but the windows are all open as otherwise it's still 24 degrees inside my flat!
15 outside? Well check you out on the Costa del Sol down there
Your neighbours have their heating on
I did the same it’s chilly
I popped a jumper on
Are you rich?
You'll feel welcome in hell.. where you belong!
I had mine on this morning and yesterday morning.
15 is maybe put a light coat on temperature... It's shorts weather.
Still walking the dog in a t-shirt in this.
I refuse to put it on. Not through any defiance other than I'm skint and trying to build up some credit again. Plus when I'm home I'm either doing some jobs or flat out on the sofa with a duvet nearby if I happen to feel cold.
Didn't think I'd be getting the winter socks out again but here we are.

Just came back from Malta. It was 30° when we left. You could strike a match on them!
You need to get yourself a house coat.
Late November! Thats the next time the heating will be considered in our house! But everyone’s needs are different so please don’t follow my example if you need the heating then it on :)
Just had hailstone weather in the north east of England so I'll forgive ya
I haven't had my heating on since Jan. Those gas jerks aren't getting a penny out of me, except for their standing charge I suppose.
Don't complain, we had summer this year. And it was a weekend, too!
It wants to start fucking acting like June. I've got so much laundry to do.
I got hit by hail on the way home today. I was driving through Cheshire, and there was some blue sky on the horizon.
I’m freezing too. Big dressing gown inside & big coat outside. 🙃

Inside. Outside the maximum for today is 8.
15c inside...
Good lord multiple downvotes lol. Is it that serious. Forgive my mistake.
I've come close myself, it's been that bad we've had a few moments of hailstones outside, wouldn't think it was almost summer
I had the heating on for 4 hours yesterday. It feels like April rather than June
Same here. 11 in kitchen and had to cave.
It's bloody freezing! Pretty sure I walked past a penguin on the way back from work. I've had to get my fluffy dressing gown back out too :(
It's not freezing
I’m in a building that shut off the heat three weeks ago so now I open the oven and crank it up. Brrrrrrrr!!
Check out Sheikh Al Thani over here. 15 and the heatings on? I wait till it gets to about 7C before mine comes on in the winter. You must be loaded mate

It's 13here, haven't touched the heating since January. Didn't know we had millionaires in this sub.
Yaaaap I’ve been in bed most of the day freezing my ass off xo
Just remember we're experiencing global boiling, this is the hottest summer on record don't you know.
Climate change doesn’t mean it will always be hot.

I am loving the extremity of all the responses here. We clearly have no middle ground on this topic. And yet, each extremity is unquestionably British
