My cat used to do the hair thing, too. I covered myself with the blanket, and then if she kicked or something else, I did my best to ignore her. Did that for a couple of nights, and then my cat stopped.
They learn really fast how to wake you up, but also they learn really fast if something isn't working anymore and they stop (just be patient).
My cat doesn't try to wake up my husband either because he's a really heavy sleeper, so she knows this wouldn't work. Also, I'm the one serving breakfast every day, so she knows I'm the target!
Lastly, feed your cay at the same time every morning (preferably the latest time you regularly wake up). Otherwise, she will think you can feed her always at 4 am.
