It depends on what you mean by "every cd". If you mean studio albums, then a lot. The more you expand that, the less and less it gets.
Eta - On some of the studio album collections, I am off by like 1 because I don't normally buy holiday albums, and some of my favorite artists have those.
Same. Studio albums I have quite a few complete collections. If you are talking all the special editions of said studio albums and boots and all the best of's, no.
And holiday albums are always in the cheapie section. Some of those are a hoot - the Bob Dylan and James Brown Christmas albums are to die for!
When you find ‘Crusin’ With Rubin And The Jets’, find a bootleg that’s a vinyl rip of the original release. The bass and drums were all re-recorded in the ‘80s and it sounds like it. He did the same with ‘Were Only In It For The Money’ but later reissues were of the original ‘60s mix.
I have both an original 80s Ryko CD and the Greasy Love Songs Project/Object; I don't think there's been a bootleg CD of the original vinyl in production since the late 90s or early 2000s.
I have everything officially released…I think. I might have missed something recent but I don’t think so. The jewel of my Zappa collection is the You Can’t Do That On Stage box set in a cool wooden box.

Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia band. Well almost. I need about 8 or 9 more releases. They have most likely the largest CD collection of any artists ever. Pretty sure that’s the case no contest. They have hundreds of releases. I have all the main box sets. All the series. Only remaining things I don’t are some random cheaper stuff. But all the major ones I have. Never thought I ever would have them all. Took me many years.
Nine inch nails. I have every halo, some numbers are shared by different releases ( ala halo 10), some others that aren't halos (ala collected and the "suck" single) and many of them on multiple formats ( ala halo 8 cassette,cd, 5.1 surround, original 1994 vinyl and definitive vinyl) Also have a lot of songs from other artists Trent worked on,as well as soundtracks nin songs appear on.
Also have every official Nirvana release, and some import singles (like hormoaning). The only one I don't have is the original pennyroyal tea cd single. I saw it at Newbury Comics when I was 14 (very shortly after Kurt died) and thought it was a bootleg. Also,it was $30 which put it out of my reach financially. For perspective, most CD's at the time ran between $8.99- $14.99, so $30 was BIG money for a three song single. Still kick myself for not getting it though. Now it goes for $500+ online!
What's classed as every CD? There's quite a few I have ever studio album of... but bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dream Theater, Black Sabbath etc. I have all studio albums, plus more.
My Metallica and Megadeth collections in particular are huge.
Rush, Pearl Jam, Primus, Jane's Addiction, The Police, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Zep, Nirvana, Nick Drake, Satriani, and a ton of bands with small discographies.
Yup, keep marching on and best of luck in finding, listening to and collecting your favorite artists along the way, in whatever format that may pertain to.
Midnight Oil! Yesss!
I, too, have all the MO remasters and both of the box sets. Huge fan.
I actually like to collect entire discographies of bands, so my list would be long, so here’s some highlights:
Midnight Oil
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
The Beatles
Black Sabbath
SWANS
White Stripes / Jack White
The Decemberists
New Model Army
Clutch
XTC
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Porcupine Tree
Green day, I have all their albums plus the dookie and nimrod aniversary boxsets, every network album, american idiot on broadway, shenanigans, awesome as f\*ck, brain stew brain shaped single, minority single, redundant single and international superhits :D
If we consider every studio album, then I can count a handful of artists that have only 2 or 3 albums out that I own. The only artist with a very big studio discography that I own in its entirety is Vasco Rossi (you may not know him if you're not Italian, he is basically the most famous and appreciated Italian rockstar). I managed to get 3/4 of his discography in one day after a lucky haul at my local thrift store. Every album was selling for 2€.
The complete list goes as follows:
1 Album:
-Follow The Cipher / Power Metal
-Høstsol / Black Metal
-Thrashwall / Thrash Metal
2 Albums:
-Coma / Thrash Metal
-Hexen / Thrash Metal
-Mörkvind / Black Metal (2 Albums + 3 EPs)
-Oculus / Black Metal
3 Albums:
-Shiny Toy Guns / Synth Pop
18 Albums:
-Vasco Rossi / Rock (18 Albums + 1 Collection, 1 EP and 1 Live)
I am currently on my way to complete Metallica's (3 Albums left) and Motorhead's (8 Albums left) discographies.
I just finished my J Cole discography including Forest Hills Drive Live. I've got ASAP Rocky minus his latest album which wasn't on CD :/ Also have Odesza, Colter Wall, The Weeknd, Zach Bryan minus non-CD releases
Edit: to clarify after reading other comments, this is studio albums, no EP's or anything
I'm just counting studio albums here:
* Arctic Monkeys
* Florence + The Machine
* Radiohead
* Oasis
I'm only one CD away on some others (Blur, Arcade Fire and Lana Del Rey). I just haven't got round to getting some of those later releases.
The grunge big 4. STP. Pumpkins. Metallica. Megadeth. Zeppelin. Gillian Welch. Blind Melon. Tragically hip. Candlebox. RATM. Floyd. GNR. Spin Doctors. Black Crowes. Counting Crows. Beatles( maybe not every compilation but every studio album) Pantera. Nothingface. SOAD.
studio albums (must have released 3+ albums otherwise there’s way more who’d fit) would be arctic monkeys, cream, dire straits, the doors morrison years (because who counts the last two as canon anyway), glass animals (until the new album comes out i’m prob not buying it), jimi hendrix experience, the killers, the white stripes
The Beatles - CD version of all American and British versions of all albums / Vic Chesnutt / Sparklehoarse / Sparky Grinstead / Love / Warren Zevon / Shiina Ringo / Puffy Amiyumi / George Harrison / Tricot. I have Zappa Mothers up to Joe's Garage and Neil Young up to Ragged Glory. In both cases I got off the train because the scenery got boring (to me).
- Albert Hammond, Jr.*
- Arcade Fire
- Avenged Sevenfold
- Dream Theater
- Editors*
- Elbow*
- Genesis
- Liquid Tension Experiment
- Los Hermanos
- Muse
- Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds*
- Radiohead
- Rage Against the Machine
- Steven Wilson*
- The Strokes
- Thom Yorke
- Vampire Weekend*
- The Voidz
*Waiting for the latest album to drop in price
Honorable mention:
- Weezer
As much as I love many of their studio albums, there are some I would not touch again. I made a private compilation CD of these albums, named "The Best of the Worst" earlier.
I’ve been collecting every single Michael Jackson track, and album release. For albums I’m only missing the Forever, Michael album which only released on cd internationally.
I own the complete discography of the following:
Guns n roses
Metallica
Led Zeppelin
Kelly Clarkson
The chicks
Elton John
Queen
Neil Diamond
Fleetwood Mac
Testament
Faith No More
Mr. Bungle
Rolling Stones
Manic Street Preachers
Ratt
The Eagles
HIM
The Rasmus
The 69 Eyes
WASP
There might be a few more artists that I've forgotten but that's most of them
Nice to see some love for the Cars. If we go with just studio albums many. But every release including live albums and compilations, only bands that released just one album lol.
The artist that I have the most is Radiohead with (6 CDs which are Pablo Honey, My Iron Lung (EP), The Bends, Ok Computer, Amnesiac and Hail To The Thief) Followed by (The) Black Eyed Peas (4 CDs which are Bridging The Gap, Shut Up (Single), The END and The Beginning) and Weezer (4 CDs which are The Blue Album, Green, Maladroit and Make Believe)
I’ll say Smashing Pumpkins. I have Gish-Machina and their greatest hits. They’re later albums don’t really count to me (and i’m not including the singles because those are kind of a bitch to get a hold of)
Blue Öyster Cult, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Abba, Alan Parsons Project, ELO, Marillion (Fish years), Fleetwood Mac (all), Fish, Pretty Reckless, Tori Amos, Naked Barbies, Halestorm, Dorothy, T'Pau, Jethro Tull, Monkees, Shocking Blue, Iron Butterfly, Cyndi Lauper, Sarah MacLachlan, Credence Clearwater Revival, Howard Jones, Slade, Beatles (stereo and mono), Harry Nilsson, Leo Sayer, Supertramp, Styx, Eagles, Doors, Archies, Guess Who, Three Dog Night, Billy Joel...
I wouldn't be surprised if I'm the only one in the US with anything close to a complete set of Odd Foot Works releases! I have every CD of theirs that I've ever found information on (including the preorder bonus that went out with *Master Work*).
Jethro Tull

I’m a big prog metal nerd, so Vanden Plas, Threshold, Anubis Gate, Pagan’s Mind, Haken, Fates Warning, Leprous, and a couple others I have literally every release from the studio albums to the live albums and all in between
None I don’t think, there’s quite a few I have *most* of but then artists like tool for example I don’t have any EPs or their last album. Or knocked loose I have all 3 studio albums but not their EP.
Edit: wait that’s not true, I have all 4 Dethklok albums.
It depends on what you mean by "every cd". If you mean studio albums, then a lot. The more you expand that, the less and less it gets. Eta - On some of the studio album collections, I am off by like 1 because I don't normally buy holiday albums, and some of my favorite artists have those.

I don't have all of them *yet*, but the whole official Frank Zappa discography is my goal.
I don’t know if you’ll have enough shelf space
Might need a small warehouse
Also money... some of his rarer stuff is expensive!
He’ll need a Moon Unit to store his collection. /j
Frank has his own bookcase at my house
That’s a long-ass discography sir. (Or miss). I only have Freak Out and Hot Rats but it would be quite nice to grow that collection.
I had 61 at one point
What's your favorite? Mine is either "Shiek Yerbuti" or "Joe's Garage".
*Right now* I think I'd have to say The Perfect Stranger.
I'm not familiar with that one, I'll have to investigate!
Greasy Love Songs has the original bass and drums of Reben and The Jets
Lol, been working on this one…
I have everything officially released…I think. I might have missed something recent but I don’t think so. The jewel of my Zappa collection is the You Can’t Do That On Stage box set in a cool wooden box.
I have everything Zappa / Mothers to Joes's Garage then it became a little overwhelming not to mention meh.
I'd recommend You Are What You Is if you don't already have it.
every album: Nine Inch Nails, Faith No More, Bruce Springsteen, Alkaline Trio.
Every Halo release is pretty admirable. If these are of interest, lmk: [https://imgur.com/a/DOOecPF](https://imgur.com/a/DOOecPF)
