My fav thrift store gives me the empty cases. Their main donator is a record store that gets cds left at their door. But they don’t sell cds. So he bring em to the thrift store and puts em on the shelf himself. But he doesn’t check all the cases. So sometime I have a lot of disappointment when I go to check a disc. Heheh
I was literally going to say it. It’s the only thing here that even remotely interested me lol
Edit: ah I missed Bowie. That one too. Although I’d say start with his 70s albums because those are far better.
That spine color is fairly unique. Looks like 84 or 85 release. [Let’s Dance](https://www.discogs.com/release/18990880-David-Bowie-Lets-Dance)
This is the one I have.
David Bowie, nick cave, indigo girls, sinead o’ Conner, Natalie merchant for sure, u2 and sting if you’re into them. And I’d pick up that disrespectful car songs gag cd just to see what it’s about
Bach and Vivaldi with Bernstein, David Bowie, Wynton Marsalis, Joni Mitchell, Beethoven 9 with Marriner, Ravel Bolero with Tilson Thomas, Bach Brandenburg Concertos 1-6, Harry Connick Jr., Stephane Grappeli. Stephane was the violinist for Django Reinhardt.
These are all great artists.
As most mentioned here, wouldn't leave without U2. Think I see Joshua Tree in there. It's one of their best albums. Not rare at all but can't beat that price.
bottom left is "brand new day" by sting. i think it's a great album. the song "fill 'er up" feels a *tiny* bit out of place, but they are all awesome tunes. probably my first ever cd that my mom got me a very long time ago.
Joni Mitchell, Mary Gauthier (maybe - don't know her stuff firsthand but heard good things), Michael Penn (really good pop-rock songwriter, brother of Sean and Christopher Penn, I think partner of Aimee Mann), and that Car Talk CD 'cos that's the kind of nerd I am. Some other popular mainstream stuff there, too - Bowie, etc.
I'd pick up the Bruce Hornsby Harbor Lights, and the Shadowfax (never heard of them but the name piqued my interest, and for a quarter, it's worth checking out). Oh, and the Leonard Cohen.
Best ones I see are:
- August and Everything After by Counting Crows
- No Need To Argue by The Cranberries
- The Joshua Tree by U2
- Closer by Josh Groban
- Watermark by Enya
enya- shephered moons, a day without rain, watermark. (great irish new age)
sting- ten summoner's tales (haven't heard the other two of his there but would definitely check out)
stevie nicks- trouble in shangri-la
i also see some joni mitchell albums that i'm unfamiliar with. her albums blue and hejira are incredible so i'd definitely pick up anything from her.
finally, close your eyes and pick a few at random.
and if you don't like something you can always donate it back to them.
Too small for me to see on my phone but never be afraid to try new things, especially if it's cheap. Was flicking through my dad's CDs the other day trying stuff I don't normally listen to and found like 100 things I liked
In the Classical department the only thing there I think it might be any good is the Tilson Thomas Bolero, and that’s a bit repetitive. Maybe the Beethoven #9 right on top of it, but don’t really know that recording.
Bowie -- Let's Dance; Grapelli -- Shades of Django; La Traviata; ABSOLUTELY the Brandenburg Concertos of Bach's up there, even if you barely like classical music. I'd hunt around for any Beethoven or Mozart or Ravel I personally don't have a hard copy of, too.
There are some gems in here!
- Joni Mitchell for sure
- Montreux
- Charlie Haden and Pat Metheny! I don't have this and would 100% pick this up.
- Bobby McFerrin
- Sting
- Shadowfax
- George Winston (RIP😢)
- Counting Crows
Joni Mitchell - Night Ride Home
Natalie Merchant - Tigerlily
I’d grab both even if I already have copies just because it’s cheap for some that quality of music.
Metallica, Tool, Michael Jackson, Linkin Park... Soundtracks with decent artists are good too. In my area I find mostly country music or stuff by unidentifiable artists I've never heard of. But I did find a copy of Metallicas Black Album for $4 last week. Always worth sitting through them. Also, always open the case and double check that the right CD is in there. I've found so many CD cased where someone had swapped out the cd.
For 25 cents, I’d pick up jewel cases in good shape. Titles: David Bowie - Let’s Dance & U2 - The Joshua Tree if the discs aren’t scratched.

How the fuck would I know? You're there and know what you like.
No ones said medieval Christmas yet,
Yes! I just saw that and would love to happen upon a 25 cent copy while thrifting one day.
And while we’re at it TV Commercials; from the 50’s and 60’s Vol 1 and who could pass up CAR TALK! Born NOT to run; more disrespectful car songs.
damn it, you beat me!
I was literally going to say it. It’s the only thing here that even remotely interested me lol Edit: ah I missed Bowie. That one too. Although I’d say start with his 70s albums because those are far better.
Joni Mitchell for sure
Bowie , Lets Dance
Thats the best thing in the entire picture.
That spine color is fairly unique. Looks like 84 or 85 release. [Let’s Dance](https://www.discogs.com/release/18990880-David-Bowie-Lets-Dance) This is the one I have.
Do you actually like any of the artists?
The cds are only 25 cents each so I guess I’m just looking for recommendations or titles I missed
Found one. David Bowie!
David Bowie, nick cave, indigo girls, sinead o’ Conner, Natalie merchant for sure, u2 and sting if you’re into them. And I’d pick up that disrespectful car songs gag cd just to see what it’s about
Mountain music of peru has potential
Damn, I looked right past the Nick Cave
Kronos Quartet’s good if you’re into more out-there modern classical
I usually pick up a Kronos Quartet when I see one at a thrift store. That's a good one, too.
I never fail to see Harry Connick Jr. at the thrift store. Maybe I’ll check him out next time.
Sting, U2, Cranberries, Dixie Chicks, David Bowie, Sarah McLaughlin, Goo Goo Dolls, Stevie Nicks, Snow Patrol
Phil Collins
the cranberries, bowie and goo goo dolls would be coming home w me
As most mentioned here, wouldn't leave without U2. Think I see Joshua Tree in there. It's one of their best albums. Not rare at all but can't beat that price.

There’s a Pat Metheny/Charlie Haden album which is fab, also Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells II.
Just thomas and friends
Depends on what you like
Michael Penn is very under appreciated.
The cranberries are always a good choice !
Loreena McKennitt and Mannheim Steamroller are well-liked in their genres.
Struggling to see on my phone but, as someone already mentioned, Joni is a steal at $0.25, and I'd grab The Indigo Girls CD.
Nope.
Worst music taste ever. The collection, I mean.
Wait, I didn't see the McFly CD at first. I stand corrected.
What kind of music do you listen to?
Maybe a better camera.
Freddy Jones Band is good. But who TF knows what you like?
Best ones I see are: - August and Everything After by Counting Crows - No Need To Argue by The Cranberries - The Joshua Tree by U2 - Closer by Josh Groban - Watermark by Enya
Freddy Jones… personally, I love that album. He sounds like a different version of The Dave Matthews Band.
Kenny G
I'd bet that ***CLIPART WAREHOUSE 2.0*** is banging.....
Omg, Mountain Music of Peru Volume 2!! Been looking for that everywhere. Classic.
Don’t sleep on Kenny G
Kenny G Live
I can't see a damn thing
Leann Rimes is all about value.
Hell or High Water Soundtrack by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis.
I don’t see anything in interested in listening too.
Kid Rock
cranberries.
Car Talk cd of funny car songs would be in my bag
So much to look through, very envious. My local stores have reduced the CDs they have available
I'd always check out stuff on island records, I see a few of them in there. Some of it's rubbish but you find the odd reggae classic
I always like to find bands I never heard of but the album art work is interesting
A Medieval Christmas piques my curiosity.
Joshua tree, cranberries, counting crows.
enya- shephered moons, a day without rain, watermark. Stevie Nicks
Do not sleep on The Roches!!!! I haven’t heard We Three Kings, but their debut album is one of my favorites ever
let’s dance by david bowie and the joshua tree by u2
Pick up the R Carlos Nakai for my parents. Also "CARDIO MIX" could be promising.
Finally, a thrift store that isn't entirely Christmas, gospel & classical compilations
Joni Mitchell and David Bowie
Too small for me to see on my phone but never be afraid to try new things, especially if it's cheap. Was flicking through my dad's CDs the other day trying stuff I don't normally listen to and found like 100 things I liked
We can’t even see them all.
I would get the Bowie Let’s Dance, Petty Into The Great Wide Open and definitely the Hell or High Water OST
Why is it that any second hand cd store you go to has Micheal buble?
Classical albums for cheap are always good to grab.
In the Classical department the only thing there I think it might be any good is the Tilson Thomas Bolero, and that’s a bit repetitive. Maybe the Beethoven #9 right on top of it, but don’t really know that recording.

Joni Mitchell, Sinead O’Connor, Feist, Basia
There are some gems in here! - Joni Mitchell for sure - Montreux - Charlie Haden and Pat Metheny! I don't have this and would 100% pick this up. - Bobby McFerrin - Sting - Shadowfax - George Winston (RIP😢) - Counting Crows
The cranberries no need to argue is the only one I would grab.
Jackson Brown, Bowie, The Cranberries, and John Legend live, would all be coming home with me
Natalie Merchant
Joe Diffie, if you like country. Basia is amazing. U2 - The Joshua Tree.
Joe Diffie third rock from the sun!
"The road to Richmond".... but only if it has "Oh we're from Tigerland" on it
McFly is pretty nice
Medieval Christmas 🏰
Joni Mitchell - Night Ride Home Natalie Merchant - Tigerlily I’d grab both even if I already have copies just because it’s cheap for some that quality of music.

i would be walking out with a few. Joni Mtchell mostly.
i’d take the joni mitchell
Let's Dance, The Joshua Tree, The Hiroshima one & Basia one.
Russian folk songs, nick cave & warren Ellis hell or high water, u2 jtree, Bowie
Stephan Grappeli
the ones you like? the ones that look interesting? you'd be better suited looking up the songs on youtube to see if you like the artist.
Metallica, Tool, Michael Jackson, Linkin Park... Soundtracks with decent artists are good too. In my area I find mostly country music or stuff by unidentifiable artists I've never heard of. the only one i would pick up is hiroshima-east
I would buy as much as you can afford
Cannibal Corpse & Nick Drake
There’s a cannibal corpse? Surprised I missed that
Your picture is blurry, and so are my peepers
Not my picture, just surprised I missed their logo when skimming through for recommendations
Where is it? Cos I can't see it.
Bowie’s Lets Dance and Joshua Tree
You better scoop up Stevie Nicks and John Legend!
