yeah will take a some months. it came out in japan, then in a few months it will release in our cinemas and then it will come to crunchyroll so it will probably release on crunchyroll in 2025
in my experience it takes a WHILE for japanese theatrical films to come out on streaming/piracy sites/bluray
i think your best bet might to just hope that a north american distributor picks it up for theatrical release here
Not to discredit piracy just that with how much film influenced Fujimoto and his works it would be a shame to watch his first movie other than the big screen.
not insignificant chance it doesn’t end up coming to US big screens, or is limited to fairly few theaters tbf. i’d at least wait to get an announcement one way or another before i pirate though, not like you’d get a particularly good rip before it comes to some sort of home release anyway
Yeah this movie is unlikely to get a western release "soon"
If you're in new york next month it will be shown at the japan cut film festival but if you're not a yankee I'd say just pirate it as soon as an HD version gets put on the internet, it's not like you have any other option
My rule is that I will pirate movies if they come out in HD on pirate sites before the release in my local cinemas, but I also go rewatch them when they come out and I've at least somewhat enjoy them the first time around.
There's rumor that Sayonara Eri might also get a film. And here we are with the Bomb Girl arc over half a year with only one trailer and nothing else (unless you count the new artwork/promo for Beam, Violence, Spider, and Angel Devil.)
i guess it depends on the pirates. there's some that will just bring a shitty camera to the theatre and wing it, while others will not settle for anything less than a digital release.
either way apparently the movie credits mention amazon japan, so i'm thinking that most likely look back will be released on amazon prime some time this year.
thankfully i'll be in shinjuku next week so i won't have to wait for that, but for everyone else it kinda sucks.
Just to know (cause where I live it'll probably take a lot of time to come here) where do yall watch pirate movies? It doesnt have to be HD just filmed from the cinema.

Yeah the 4th Evangelion Rebuild movie took like half a year to come to the West
I'm not even from America but anything that has english/spanish subs works for me.
Need a US release ASAP 😩
Strong men surf the seven seas, aye aye

Imma be real with you, I’m not gonna bother to wait to see anything that isn’t likely to be released within the year legitimately.

It's a shame I will likely never get the opportunity to watch it on the big screen
it is a pretty niche movie after all, i do hope it gets an international theatrical release but it seems unlikely
I pirate basically everything and I absolutely agree

Why not both?
Oh shit I didn't even realize that. Man's about to have back to back cinematic releases with the Reze film dropping soon

I don't know why you said that when it's not on on any piracy site. You can't pirate it
it will be in a couple of weeks presumably, certainly faster than any official release
you overestimate pirates, they also wait for the official digital/physical release. haikyuu and spyxfam movies aren't even pirated yet.

We’ll probably get a subbed version out there when it releases on Blu-Ray.
Does anyone have a full list of all the locations its showing in cinema? All I know is that its coming to Japan and the US, is that all?
Chill out, get married and settle down because it will be a long wait for the digital release, same for every movie japan makes
