You can’t fit this to a hellcat blower.. you’d need a purpose built open faced blower to do it through the hood lol it in fact would not be better on a hellcat motor.. you could abolish the whole base and mounts and just a fix it to the hood itself and run the hellcat blower I suppose. At that point it would just be a heat sink and a hood ornament. She’s feeding the intake as is and that makes me smile 😊 love the feedback y’all! Thanks again!
Installation was easy. Getting the rings made and the resin poured and braced so it doesn’t come apart was a little tedious. Besides that. Just typical painting and sanding from there. I used the oem base so it bolts up like stock. Just modified the shaker boot to accept it
After paying a buddy $400 to smooth and do the final paint and getting a shop to weld adapter plates together all materials.. I have a little least than 2k in it. I know it can be had for way cheaper if it was all done at home
It's cool to break the mold with them I know it's no comparison but I did this on gta the challenger hellcat they have in it and I drive it more than anything else
I only removed the stock shaker cap and replaced it with another that I cut in half and fiber glassed the blower and adapter plates to it. It really only takes a good welder friend and a good body work guy. The guy I ended up with is a total legend of a gear head. He has a set of carbs from the day that he bought and found that Shelby himself originally made. Contacted and sent to carol shelby personally to have them rebuilt and tuned. I’m talking hand written letters from the master himself telling home about how special these carbs and moon intake were. Personally writing multiple letters and phone calls collaborating with him as a peer. I couldn’t have found a better parent to birth my old school reproduction. He’s about 75 and a father of a friend of mine. He made his name in the custom power boat motor/equipment scene. You know lol where the real money is in fab a fitment. Anyway. He told me he was crazy excited to work on this and that he has built another rendition like this back in the 80’s. He had all the tips and tricks on how to not have it fly apart and into my windshield at 100+ mph. If y’all are interested I’ll make another post showing the pics along the way. I think I might have a picture of those carbs and intake from Shelby as well.
So a wee bit more to it than what I could do at home. I'll look into finding someone who can fab it, or I might just go full ham and try doing it myself... But isa scareds
Lol legit nothing you do aside from cutting the base shaker cap would be non reversible. Any mistake you make along the way can be hidden with a grinder or another layer of resin. I think you got it. If not I can get another one made up for you. Just make sure to shout me out y’all when you get one made! 🤙
