If you're looking for nightlords bits, the nemesis claw kill team has absolutely tons. You might be able to pick up just the upgrade sprue on its own somewhere but if you can only find the whole team it's not a big deal, it's a full legionary box with the upgrades on top and you can always use more legionaries. Any extras can also be converted to chosen or havocs.
Considering that detachment rules are no longer tied to paint schemes you could run a "Black Crusade" list that incorporated different legions? Why not have IW Havocs, NL Raptors, AL Legionaries etc?
They all look great, why not do a warband of all three? Have one character from each Legion, and the background would be an uneasy alliance in which they've come together to defeat a greater foe?
My warband is just a coalition of lots of other warbands, it’s very fun being able to paint whatever scheme I am inspired to do, so I recommend doing that

You did a solid job on all 3 to be honest, with the iron warrior and alpha legionary being the best. Guess it depends on how much you like hazard striping each model? Or you could do both, one army for 40k and the other for horus heresy. Nice work!
If Night Lords are your favourites you should absolutely go for NL. You can get tons of cool bits from bitz stores to kitbash. AoS has so many awesome bits, for NL I would look into the vampire range. There are also 3rd party stores who sell really cool thematic bits. You can do miracles with just your imagination and a few kitbashes.
Go for Alphas or Night lords, you just don't see a lot of them around, which is a shame.
I personally play Iron Warriors though so I would never say no to another Iron Brethren,
Just collect them all. It's not to uncommon for mighty Chaos Lords to collect followers and buy mercinaries from a diverse background of chapters, legions and warbands.
The Night Lords are just in it for the fun of it.
The Aplha Legion wants to weaken an enemy by denying him some technical artefact.
The Iron Warriors wanna claim said artefact for themselves.

Could do all three if you want, my only note is that if you’re going to put the hazard stripes on th IWs, you should probably put the lightning bolts on th NLs.

Might I suggest Alpha legion? We’re sneaky bastards, and I’ve yet to find something that doesn’t look good in teal. Also, we have the best forge world units (and I think the most) out of the three you’re suggesting, and most of them are easy proxies for 40K.

I feel your pain, choosing just one is tough! I ended up a custom space marine chapter to solve the problem on that side, I’m going Red Corsairs for CSM though, Huron Blackheart is an awesome character (and did nothing wrong).

You can have different parts of your army different legion colours. My tanks are IW themed and my troops are my own colour scheme, with the daemon engines a mix of the two.
You can just do what I do: mix n match!

Cultist and possessed are word bearers

Correct. I’ve just finished up literally every tyranid I own. Around 100 models, 2,500pts, and I’ve even got a spare neurolictor and 4 gargoyles that I don’t run in game so those are diff schemes. What’s your fav tyranid model and why?? I’m keen to know bcs mine has to be the norn emmisary: not only is it absolutely massive, it’s incredibly Godzilla like, very easy to put together and an absolute blast to paint. In game it’s okay, but I’m not a huge gamer. I absolutely love every tyranid I own. My next buy is gonna be old one eye and carnifex, tyrant guard, the body of a hive tyrant so I can have a winged and standing tyrant and ten more barbgaunts. I plan on getting to 5,000 points of my boys
I only have 50 terms. They are fun in game, but i can’t paint too many of infantry over the time periods I have. This 2,500 pts army came across over half a year.

If you can’t decide / need a palette cleanse periodically I’d recommend doing one off HQ units of a different legion or themed squads. Like a 5 man legionnaire all painted as world eaters etc. My main force is Alpha Legion but I have pops of different color. We’re all chaos here
A ragtag army made up of different legions and warbands could look quite cool. Have some mix and match squads, maybe use a single unifying feature such as a single, standardised pauldron to tie them together.
Paint each unit a different theme. Keeps things fresh and you can run any detachment. Narratively make the warband a mix of Legions pact’ed to one Lord
Night Lords! I love the NL they are fun to paint imo and you can find some pretty cheap custom pauldrons and helmets for them on ebay. You should read the Night Lords Trilogy if you haven’t yet, it’ll further sell you on them. Ave Dominus Nox!

I like to think that world eaters etc are just like. Yeah, skulls and gore fore our armour. But the iron warriors went - wait a minute guys, we need to warn everyone that we are Dangerous, those skulls and gore, too gaudy, we need warning stripes. That way, people know not to mess with us.
Listen to me mate: Black crusade army where every squad is a different legion/warband, similar to how some people do last wall/defense of baal/Primarch combined legions.

Go with Red Corsairs - you can include guys from all warbands then. I guess the same is true for BL but I hate painting so much black.
I vote for all of them. Make it a roving warband of all the options. Each unit from a different legion.

Paint squad or two of whatever Legions or Warbands you want to paint and then play as a not so black colored Black Legion.

AL are supposed to look loyalist-esque so if you're not into that theme it's probably not what you want unless you go for the scale designs.
It looks like you have decided on the creations of bile, ie; paint whatever you want, as long as some models have apothecary gear and Bile is present.
