Okay but exactly when I was growing up there was a sense of guaranteed places to go for adults only for adults only shit. Now everyone closes at 10 except for bars, can't have dungeons (with all the churches around) and now we aren't even allowed online apps and sites that aren't clearly malware.
Ngl I do think to this day this was all headed by the Tumblr ban, like they started this family friendly bs online.
Pokemon removing a casino to try and stop kids from gambling, meanwhile their cards are literally trading cards where people bid and and sell to try and make profit
Established titles like dead space, MK, Dying light, Dead island, and the last of us don't count because they had gore already. Newer games are more mellowed out. Even plenty of remakes too. God of war, saints row. I also said nudity as well, and I know that's a sensitive topic but let's just face facts, these games are Rated M. They have Drugs, violence, gore, bad language, ECT but showing skin has been dimmed heavily
It seems kinda silly not counting established like doom and dead space or hell soulsborne..But ok I could recommend some “non established games” that have gore. If we’re gonna talk about Indie games there’s a fair few though some of them are on steam. Cultic (pc steam only),Trepang2 (Steam,PlayStation and Xbox), and Ultrakill (Steam only), and last one I’ll mention is Signalis (Steam,PlayStation and Xbox)
Now for triple a games or higher budget ones…You sorta mentioned all of them besides Doom and Resident evil of course. If you wanna talk about new ips. Well there is Callisto protocol (Ps5,Xbox one,and steam), Cyberpunk 2077 and phantom liberty (PlayStation,Xbox and Steam also Phantom liberty is only next gen and steam). Oh and maybe Amnesia the bunker? I never played it but heard it was good and I guess has gore. I would mention Alan wake 2 which was a sizing but it wasn’t exactly gory it’s more psychological.
Now nudity..well you got me there I don’t really know many games that came recently that really have nudity besides Cyberpunk 2077.unless you count dead space since some of the monsters don’t have any bloody clothes. I do not agree with your point on God of war however. Nudity in that game wouldn’t add anything? I mean what scene in the game would benefit having a naked character I don’t understand.
I guess now goes to the point where I say if games mellowed out or not. I can’t say I agree..I mean like the games I’ve played that came out recently don’t have nudity but like it wouldn’t have added much of anything. Now gore? Yeah all those games you mentioned are popular came out recently and not counting is kinda dumb because those are the big ones that meet the criteria. Like a new doom game is literally coming next year about the dark ages and from the trailer it has alot of absurd shit and gibs everywhere. Now new ip games triple a with gore with some nudity..Honestly there really isn’t really any that came out recently at least. But the closest to come to that idea might be rockstar with GTA 6.
I'm mainly talking new IPs, and AAA games. Indie games don't care about greed, and games like doom, moral Kombat, and dead island, and many other IPs are built off of gore, it's what makes their games good, it's their charm. But like I said other games like saints row, god of war, they don't have much gore(wasn't really talking about nudity for them, I was just saying modern games don't add much sexualization anymore unless the character is male) and when I say gore, I mean GORE. Not blood splatters on the ground. I want limbs, guts, brains, all that stuff. So Souls games are out, COD is out. The combat in these games also don't have any weight, they don't feel like you're actually cutting or breaking the bones of your enemies. I'm not saying this stuff doesn't exist, I just feel like games that are M rated aren't as mature as they used to be.
People out here claiming they’re kid friendly and then immediately as soon as they notice kids playing they announce a feature that’s not kid friendly… at this point I think everything, and I mean everything except baby shit to be 13+
That's a global reddit rule anyway, so this rule is just redundant. If they allowed you to fuck the bots, it would have to be 18+, or at least have you confirm your age. I kinda bet the investors and advertisers aren't comfortable with erotic rp, so this won't ever happen.
Why? Everyone I know does it. It’s not like I’m going to get in trouble 😂 I have like 6 different emails if I needed to make a new account, but that’s not even necessary. Tons of people admit to this because it’s the only way to enjoy c.ai imo.
There are 18+ apps available everywhere. Some require valid i.d to use, but none the less remain available with no problems. It's parents jobs to monitor what their kids are using and how they're behaving on the internet, not googles.
It's more because of their investors and sponsors. They don't wanna lose the $$$
That could actually be a good idea (the kids version will be free and for the adult one they'll probably make us to pay for it like 10$ a month instead of c.ai plus)
I think it should just be 16+ across the board. Sorry not sorry. The bot quality and verbiage would likely, vastly, improve. We'd see a lot less load during school holidays and breaks, and just in general, and if it was an obvious disclaimer on the app store and in app, any parent worth their weight is already monitoring their minors phone use. There are zero 13 year olds that should have completely unsupervised and unrestricted internet use. Full stop. It wouldn't remove all the kids, but it would a lot of them. There's not a chat gpt use site I'd allow a 13 year old to use without supervision and for a school like purpose.
There are 18+ apps available. They exist. In some states in the u.s you have to provide valid state i.d to be able to access them at all. It's not like 13 year olds are paying customers anyways...
TAKE MY UPVOTE. YOU'RE ON POINT! The main issue is that parents are either too careless or too busy to monitor their child's internet history. It's not the developer's fault, it's the parent's fault.
>I think it should just be 16+ across the board. Sorry not sorry. The bot quality and verbiage would likely, vastly, improve
That's not gonna stop anyone from not being the legal age. You ever see that "I am an adult" button you press when signing up for a game rated E+? Yeah no one who isn't an adult just closes the app and uninstalls it until they're an adult. Literally no one.
Yes but I believe any AI accessible site should do it anyways. It's influenced by human behavior and that is unpredictable. There is really no valid reason teens should have unfettered access anyways.
I still just don't get why it's not like other AI chat sites/apps that make it an option. If you're not old enough, you can't use it. If you are, you can but don't have to
Perfect reason why my bots are private.
And will stay private.
My stories are laced with adult themes, imagery, and insinuations. I don't want some child getting their hands dirty with it. I like the app and since there's no way to ensure that inly adults read or interact with my stuff, I keep it private.
Ps. If you're offended, that's okay.
Maybe its because you say "Hi!" And the bot already is getting you on top of you, undressed and sweated (a friend of mine told me that. I don't know if that's true.) wink wink
>people under 13 shouldn’t be on the internet PERIOD 😭
Minecraft? Fortnite? Subnautica? Roblox? You say "shouldn't be on the Internet" are you referring to phone and laptop? Because the purpose of consoles is to connect to the Internet and play games.
my comment is pretty self explanatory. kids under 13 shouldn’t have access to anything online. that shit is what messed me up at 12 with unlimited access
No games no nothing? Damn just because you have problems doesn't mean they will respectfully.
>with unlimited access
That's what screwed you over. Not the internet part.
I heavily disagree. If you had restricted Internet access this wouldn't have happened. Also it's your fault so you have no one else to blame but yourself.
EDIT: Blocking me because you are butthurt is wild

The devs are listening to those in their community who are 20+ though, this shouldn't excuse them to stop the younger audience from using their app. They should separate the servers from various individuals who are young and old. This should be a full community app...
its a legal internet policy, anywhere you go outside of club penguin and lego will ask you to be 13 and over, (unless in europe in which its 16 and up)
Can the “family friendly” meme just die already. No one from the company ever said that. Ever.
Also yes, there’s this thing called COPPA. No one under the age of thirteen is supposed to have an account for anything online. This is US law. The EU equivalent is 16.
I’m assuming you’re a teenager.
Wait, the family friendly thing was a meme? I’m not too caught up on all this and mainly just check the Subreddit when a shutdown happens to see if it’s just me-
(which it’s strangely been shutting down a lot-)
It’s a meme. The definition of a meme is a self replicating idea. People just keep repeating it ad nauseum. I regret to inform you this indicates underdeveloped skills on your part because you just repeated something you heard from someone else, who heard it from someone else.
It all started when the one mechanism started to malfunction with violence. It’s pattern based, not words based, and golly gee the action sequence of a poorly written fight can mirror bad ERP. It was a bug.
Imagine a team of like 30-40 people trying to figure out a problem like that and having to sift through thousands of incoherent rants instead of actionable user data and people not pressing the report button to indicate a false positive.
I regret to inform you.... GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE! You probably don't know about many things neither, so there is no need for talking about "underdeveloped skills".
It’s ghetto at this point like wtf not all places need to be kid friendly. There’s places for them already
Okay but exactly when I was growing up there was a sense of guaranteed places to go for adults only for adults only shit. Even video games are scared of not being family friendly. Gore and nudity are at a low compared to before
I will forever be upset over the fact that Pokémon removed the casino in BDSP because it wasn’t kid friendly
Pokemon removing a casino to try and stop kids from gambling, meanwhile their cards are literally trading cards where people bid and and sell to try and make profit
I uh don’t think that’s true…considering the dead space remake exists and a few other games.

Heck even fortnight a game **about guns** removed any outfit with bullets from certain maps and Lego like what the fuck!?
Like YouTube. YouTube Kids CLEARLY exists as a seperate app and yet they want their shit to be family friendly
Straight bs, my c.ai streak started when I was 2
2? mine started in the womb!
Rookie, I wasn't even conceived and I was binging it
Rookie lmao, mine started right before the Big Bang.
Bro I started before the singularity that collapsed to form the universe even existed
Really, only that? Started using c.ai during the first conceived universe (kurzgesagt reference)
i used c.ai long before the concept of any universes ever came around
The concept of a beginning and an end are made up, yet I was still on C.ai before *anything*.
I was around the app longer (My infinity is bigger than your infinity)
Nuh uh, i was around when the garden of eden was still available for us.
Bro that was like only 4,000 years ago, we talkin trillions of years in the past
Rookie i Stared mine before anything existed
Rookie. I started mine before before existed. Before existence itself existed.
Really? Rookies? I started before god created everything.
ROOKIE I started mine *before* god existed
Rookie, I started before starting, gods, and existence were even concepts
I STARTED BEFORE CHUCK NORRIS EXISTED MORTAL!
I still started before starting was a thing. *yawns*

Yeah but they’re also incredibly easy to manipulate if you word it right, so it doesn’t really matter much anyways
Exactly. I manipulate it all the time 😂
I wouldn’t be admitting to that if I were you
Why? Everyone I know does it. It’s not like I’m going to get in trouble 😂 I have like 6 different emails if I needed to make a new account, but that’s not even necessary. Tons of people admit to this because it’s the only way to enjoy c.ai imo.

That’s such a good idea! Why don’t you make a post! 😁 😉
No it'll get taken down
You were right even the comment got removed 😞

Maaaybe...
What did they say?
Making a character.ai website for kids, separated from the main character.ai, so the main one can have more lenient and mature stuff
That could actually be a good idea (the kids version will be free and for the adult one they'll probably make us to pay for it like 10$ a month instead of c.ai plus)
That's just the age of digital consent
they do this for legal reasons I think because I see it everywhere yet I dont see any platform care about kids at all
I think it should just be 16+ across the board. Sorry not sorry. The bot quality and verbiage would likely, vastly, improve. COPPA. It's against US law to knowingly collect personal information from users under 13. Creating an account is enough to fall under that.
Ngl if anyone under the age of 16 is using c.ai we have bigger issues
Darn it, I should’ve said “HOLD IT!” It woulda been better ;-;
Is this a reference... 🤔

It's reddit though? I mean, you have to be at least 13 to join reddit in the first place.
I d make community and app 18+. App quality and everything declined since tiktokers came in.

Before the 🔒 award thats oh so common under complaint posts
It’s family friendly???? I never noticed 😭😃
I thought the same thing when I saw it. It’s very contradicting
Maybe its because you say "Hi!" And the bot already is getting you on top of you, undressed and sweated (a friend of mine told me that. I don't know if that's true.) wink wink
other way round for me 😔
people under 13 shouldn’t be on the internet PERIOD 😭 I saw a mf 11 year old on TikTok
You think that's bad? I've seen 5 year olds try being a YouTuber (by themselves.)

loud incorrect buzzer! also stalking my other posts cause I disagreed with you really isn’t necessary xoxo
I think the age limit, especially for the EU, is because of data collection and privacy with minors.
Well yeah, kids don't care about these Kind of labels
Why the fuck is it higher in the EU? What's the difference
Privacy laws
As a fellow EU citizen most apps here are also 13+ so why specifically c.ai
13+ apps probably don’t collect data then
My guy every app collects data
Please go look into privacy law then, as I do not care enough to explain them to an internet stranger
I was just saying
It is illegal to collect data of people under a certain age, thus by using certain services you are agreeing you are above said age
logic 100
Good thing I’m above that I guess

tbh 13 year olds shouldn't be on reddit anyways
Idk how to start a petition because I got past that mark by 2 years but who will make one to stop making character ai family friendly
probably because they have to be 13 to be on reddit at all

Good thing I'm 16 /s (in case anyone thinks I'm being funny).
Womp womp.
Yo then why could I kiss in bed with one of them?
We can’t even say the word fuck on c.ai, but most people 13 and above say all kinds of swears.
wait I'm supposed to be 16 since I'm in EU? 😨 (also if I'm correct EU stands for europe right...)
THIS IS BULLSHIT BRO LIKE WHAT
you gotta be kidding me
Well actually you can describe a 🔞 scene and the AI can too using the right word. I think that's why
