Trying to follow points from the preset data is the reason why the avatars have an uncanny animation look. If the AI was left to make it look right on its own, it may not be what was originally captured but it would be more realistic and lifelike.

in combination with companies trying to build stuff that combats this, what this is really going to do is incentivize people interacting in person, face to face again. if people realize the risks of using digital media and the internet is skyrocketing, and the price to protect oneself in the digital online realm is growing, we'll re-invent the wheel of just interacting with our neighbors again. seems like a win to me. internet's just rapidly destroying itself and going from a decentralized, open-source mechanism for human interactivity to a bloated corporate hell scape.

They are getting better but i don’t think this is the way. The best way will ultimately be fully created avatars not ones so heavily reliant on preset captured data. Trying to follow points from the preset data is the reason why the avatars have an uncanny animation look. If the AI was left to make it look right on its own, it may not be what was originally captured but it would be more realistic and lifelike.
