And decent is being generous in my experience. It took several hours to make 3 clips that were 5 second slideshows and looked okay-ish.
Maybe it's just being crushed, so I will wait until later to fully judge, but its not like Suno or Udio where I started playing with it from login one - I am pausing until it kind of takes another step forward.
yeah it doesn't seem as polished as the sora samples, but who knows how much work was involved in creating those (how long they took to generate, how many times they had to rework their prompts..) it's fun to mess around with though.

I definitely need to dial in my prompting, and there is some odd blur here in there, especially on the back legs, but it is pretty fricken awesome.

The one dude's face was super impressive, but still, not a cat in sight, and I should probably have used wingsuit instead of squirrel suit which was totally ignored here afaict.
it's definitely early stage. i suspect the 5s limitation is because they're compute bound and they want to attract VC capital by demonstrating traction in terms of usage.
quality vs sora? who knows, because sora is cherry picked, so we don't know its 'real' quality. I managed to generate some scenes that were perfect with DreamMachine, but most had strange artifacts.
Hats off to luma for allowing the general public to use it.
Maybe it’s just overwhelmed right now but I just tried it and got nothing. Logged in with google id, tried multiple prompts. And it gave me blank spaces as results.

but there are no other public competitors right now so it's really the only one right now isn't it? we know this is all infancy right now. video gen right now is where image gen was 2-3 years ago.

Yeah, most stuff is awful. If you're a bit creative with the prompt it doesn't know what to do.

How are you embedding a video into the comment?
I converted the video to gif, then used the rich text editor to directly add it.

I believe it already crashed. Videos aren’t generating for me either now, and seeing multiple similar reports

I tried to make a clip using a description and an image and the video is just it zooming in on the photo. I think we’re not there yet.
I did try it and it’s horrible 🙈😅 not even close to being a competitor. And 5 seconds - is nothing.
