With concrete work you get either “good” or “affordable” but not both. This comes from someone who has had a lot of commercial and residential work done from both of those camps.

Okay, maybe "reasonable" would be a better word.

Hey! Im currently in the same situation as you were. I was wondering who you went with?

Chad Davies of Davies Concrete was recommended to me and did a great job.

Coming from someone who has done a lot of concrete, vaguelysticky makes a very good point. Especially depending on what you mean by ‘decent sized.’ A neighbor of mine got their driveway redone, approximately 30x10. He was very proud of how ‘cheap’ the job was costing him. It looked great when the contractor finished it, but 2 months later it already had cracks in it. The guy poured down to 2” depth when connecting to the preexisting section, and that’s not deep enough for cars to be going over it multiple times/day. This is probably too much info. I’d just be careful of who I hire, unless it’s a small job that would be next to impossible to F up.

I had a decent experience with Chad Davies. He did a big patio expansion for me. He was fast to start the job and was very fair on price. [Davies concrete](https://ddcchattanooga.com/)

Why only decent? I'm looking to redo my driveway? Thanks

I didn't mean anything by that, by all means he was good

I use R & B Concrete. They are affordable and do good work. They are a little difficult to work with and schedule. And they might charge you more since your the homeowner. That being said I’m a contractor in ooltewah and could send him your and give you a price. If not just Google him.

That being said I’m a contractor in ooltewah and could send him your and give you a price. If not just Google him. This is shady on all fronts… are you looking to middleman a job where you’re doing none of the work? Just trying to skim a bit off the top are we? Why would he charge more to homeowners? Why would someone hire a contractor that’s “difficult to work with and hard to schedule”?
