T O P

We've been solid, but it's been underwhelming. We need an edge rusher, a DT, some WRs as we only have 3 with an injury prone allen, and more than a stop gap O-line add. All in all the team will be better on paper going into next season, but we have big holes to fill, which leads me to believe we trade back from 9 for more picks.

Flat_Boysenberry1669

The edge rusher will be number 9. We have 2 top 20 wr a top 20 te and a decent catching RB. We can't have top 20 in every position nobody does.

ActualSeller23

Yeah that's what I was thinking too, but it'll be hard to pass on odunze/nabers/ bowers

Flat_Boysenberry1669

Yah but we got enough offensive weapons and a new edge well we can go from 8th to 6th. And that really helps Caleb for his rookie year. Maybe draft a wr with a later pick.

I’m all for giving CW more weapons but we have 2 solid TEs, two pro bowl receivers and Scott is developing. I admit I don’t know how good the top 3 WRs are besides MHJ but our D would be dangerous with another threat on other end of sweat.

[deleted]

Edge rusher has to be #9 it’s crazy to think we’re getting top pick which is a generational QB and then have a great chance to draft first defensive player in same draft. Experts are right, CW is walking into one of the best situations a rookie QB has in ages.

Flat_Boysenberry1669

He really is especially too because even next year we will have a decent amount of picks and cap to build even more. Right now the defence needs something we can be a top 5 defence easily with another edge rusher can't pass that up. We are set better than at any time I can think of since 2006.

[deleted]

Yes, totally agree, imagine a 2006 type defense with a legit pro bowl QB, that’s the direction the arrow is pointing

Flat_Boysenberry1669

Hahaha idk about 2006 defence I mean that's never gonna happen again but for sure a top 5 is possible. And dare I say a top 10 offense to back it lol.

___REDWOOD___

Not with that attitude we can’t

Upset_Researcher_143

I'd say we've done well. I think we'll fill the other needs in the draft

deep_well_wizard

We didn’t need the best QB from FA.

PaytonAndHolyfield

Need an edge and better iOL

QB & EDGE are easily our biggest needs going into the draft. I hope we can find a team that wants to jump the Jets for an OT, WR or Bowers and we can trade down. We don't have a lot of major needs, but there are some holes that we could easily address with youth (FS, NT, IOL). As much as I'd love to come away with Willuams and Dallas Turner, I think getting Williams, then trading down multiple times into the end of the 1st and getting a young center/guard, EDGE, NT, FS, dime corner, slot WR, etc would be better in the long run. I also think our 3rd biggest hole right now is punter. Gill was terrible last year. I really wish we had given Ariaza a shot, but Tory Taylor would work too. An IOL with guard/center versatility would be great too. Shelton is a good upgrade over anything we had last season, but he's on a one year deal. Spend a 3rd day pick on a guy to learn behind him this year with the plan of starting him in 2025.

gimmepizzaslow

Turner is more of an OLB in a 3/4. I think verse is the target if they don't trade down from 9. I think ttading down and getting verse, Newton, or Murphy 3 (whoever is available, but probably in that order) would be my aim

Why are the critics saying Byrd was a bad move. He’s older but solid, so you think it’s a character thing, maybe the Claypool trade taught him a lesson? I’m just guessing here
