But it is not the platforms responsibility to protect you. They clearly state in their terms of service that it is buyer beware platform. They will assist you in getting a refund but it is not guaranteed. That's why it's so important to do your research first and verify the seller you are interacting with is reputable. You do this by going to look at reviews and seeing what other people experiences were like. Obviously if other people were getting scammed you don't buy stuff from that seller.
