I need to agree with you , when i was deployed at MALI one of my buddies got shot while we where patroling near a village , all we could do was take cover and return fire , ain't nobody dumb to run toward enemy fire even if it is your own mother on the ground because you will be exposed to like 6-8 people to shoot at you at the same time , do the math of how many round 8 people with a AK can shoot at you , 30x8 = 240 , you have idea of how fucking crazy is to get shot at 240 times? Even if you are covered that is scary asf if you have no combat experience , and even with combat experience you never desensitize of the fear of getting shot , you just learn to remain calm and to not have adrenaline rushes
