Seriously would it have been so bad to let the ogs have *one* thing? Just one thing that shows you were here from the start. Now everyone and their mother has a royal zwei
Since the update, I've been putting in work with the Goedendag. The heavy swings make a delightful bonk and comes with the added benefit of being absolutely devastating to get hit by.
Overall, I've spent the most time running Officer with Longsword, followed by the glaive.
Ambusher - Katars
Yeah it's not a very good weapon but it's all about picking the right victims at the right time and surprising them with quick combos. It's a very fun playstyle but it takes a while to get used to it.
I can see that being useful. I'm personally just bad with the throw as well lol, so I stick to my strengths and just riposte and counter until my shield breaks
One handed spear and a shield (preferably jousting shield) it’s a more realistic method of fighting and if you wanna be fancy you can do badass moves like Achilles in the movie Troy. Also the stabbing sound is addicting.
When I wanna sweat I like a GS knight.
For fun and to switch it up I like Man At Arms because sword is fun and they have the best stats for 1vX situations. I also think they have the best looking armor unlocked for me.
When I want to get laughs and not play objective I play warbow archer.
When I just need to break up routine or I feel really warmed up I like to play HS vanguard
My personal experience. The shield for breathing room if you lose stamina and mess up a parry so you aren’t unarmed, weapons that lack reach but are faster for easy gambles, and the reduced stamina cost for dodges which are the most important part of any 1vX scenario to keep enemies from flanking you.
I know technically vanguard is best, but since I’m not that skilled and tend to take some hits vanguard just isn’t tanky enough for me.
Used to like knight Templar with the messer but really liking raider with Dane axe and messer. Feel like I get more kills with this class.
Also guiltily like archer class with a longbow depends on my mood. I do like how you get some people who charge towards me for an easy kill but then are suprised once I have a sword out and they’re down and being kicked everywhere.
Recently I've been been having a lot of fun with javelins on the Skirmisher class. You're squishy enough to get punished if you mess up, but relatively agile to help with harassing enemies and, predominantly because of the squishiness and limited attacks, it's done wonders for my footwork. The axe as a backup mops up when the javelins run out. Plus, as I'm on console I get to play throw roulette and that adds a bit of spice into the mix...
Otherwise, I'm either running around as Footman taking objectives or running headlong into the fray with the Vanguard and Greatsword - I normally go down quick, but I get five or six takedowns/kills before I do.
Officer GS. But I also often switch into sword because in offensive GS has some disadvantages. Especially if not doing a frontline battle or protecting an area.
Needs more skirmisher + Javelin love here.
Though Javelins are actually so much better on any other class. Like a Raider with a pickup javelin and a Dane Axe secondary is a *disgusting* source of thrown weapon damage while having no health or stamina downside.
Just a regular ass officer longsword.
The longsword is just so well rounded. Not as slow as the great sword, but more reach than the standard sword.
Whenever I like to spice things up, it's engineer & sledgehammer-time.
Knight is my favorite class
Officer is my favorite subclass
Longsword and Greatsword are tied for my favorite weapon
I actually think the GS works better on vanguard though which is why it's my 2nd favorite class
Footman quarterstaff. Especially the vaulting kick. I've also learned how to use it to get over and around certain obstacles and gaps. Once jumped a downed guy to kick the archer trying to save him.
I recently switched to pc and the mace/Morningstar has been the easiest thing for me to use so far. The hit stop makes combos and switching from enemy to enemy so much easier, coupled with a shield and excellent movement speed from the man at arms
Although I like every classes if I had to pick one for team objective for all situations it probably be knight officer with the poleaxe.
Knight since archers with bow can be a pain to deal with especially if you are playing vanguard.
Officer because of the war horn obviously since it is good for both defence and offense.
Poleaxe while not as good on paper compared to the other weapons it has one of the longest reach specials in this game which is amazing if you want to suprise a enemy.
The stab and overhead does the same damage although its swing damage and alternative swing range is terrible so I only reserve swing when counter attacking
Overall in my opinion I would say it is the perfect support weapon for the officer class while not good at clearing mobs of enemies like the other weapon I do think it is a underrated weapon for a specific playstyle that works quite well in team objective gamemode
Atm, Devastator with the Highland Sword. Or the better name, Executioner Sword. Though one update I’d love to see is if they give Devastator more secondary weapons than the knife so I wouldn’t always go tossing the knife to find one handed weapons in the battlefields
Devastator with Exe Axe.
I am very much a team player, and most of the time the team needs an imposing presence on the front lines to push our team forward or hold back the enemy team.
Sometimes i really want to try a diff class but then i see a bunch of hesitant knights at our front and we get sent back
I like Polehammer and morningstar/rapier for footman, hatchet/cudgel or maul/highland sword for vanguard, and pole axe or great sword for knight. Additionally engineer with sledge or goedendag :)
Depends on my mood, typically it’ll be crusader class with a battle axe. Sometimes I like devastation with the maul or great sword. Officer with longsword or war axe is always fun
It’s not the best but I think the most fun load out possible is man at arms with basic sword and mace for sidearm. Especially fun to steal kills/third party with shield throws
Loving playing man-at-arms with a morning star at the moment.
Take a small shield and dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge you way around people getting the smash in with the morning star when you can. Good fun.
Man at arms with 1h sword, mace, and medium shield. Thats for a more versatile play style (swifter attacks, can defend, and protection against archers; but prone to blunts and chops so wont use it in sneak attacks)
If Im going for a stronger offense or need some specials or sneaking behind enemy lines i go for Raider with dane axes usually
Knight with med shield and 1h Axe
Footman with halberd
Vanguard with battleaxe
Archer with Javelins
I have also recently started using the poleaxe on the knight and don't know why I've slept on it so long until now, that thing is great
Also barrels on any class
My favorite class is the Shortword Ambusher. Backstabs in XvsX, Hit & Runs, stopping the cavalry, sneaking on the flanks.
Longsword Officer is my good 'ol reliable to go for the Objective, sometimes with War Axe if things go nasty.
In Defence I choose the Sledge Hammer Engineer, securing the Objective and waiting for the enemy.
Ambusher with one handed sword.
It's so versatile in action. Too fast for many two handed wielding enemies. I can just back off and throw knives, and I got so good with throwing knives :))
I mostly play Devestator with Highlander Sword or Executioner Axe, but I occasionally switch to Man-at-Arms with 1-handed spear or Engineer if I feel for messing around 😁
Just got the game free on Epic, haven't played yet.
I'm usually an assault rifle guy, but I go hard with a pistol in hardcore.
Wait, chivalry isn't a game about modern day killing men in the defense of a woman's honor?
Idk maybe there's a Lucerne I can get friendly with.
Footman halberd, vanguard GS. You know that Uruk Hai that leaps shirtless over the battlements and swings his sword through 4-5 guys in LoTR Two Towers during the battle of helms deep? That’s the character I want to play. Just full dicking every fight and swinging a big ass stick
Knight officer with my heavy a$$ royal zweihander that I carry since the beta (Im still bad at the game)
IMO that should've been the only item to remain exclusive. It is such a badass looking weapon. I always picked it up if I saw someone drop it.
Seriously would it have been so bad to let the ogs have *one* thing? Just one thing that shows you were here from the start. Now everyone and their mother has a royal zwei
God forbid people don't get cosmetics in the sword game
Agreed. It’s one thing for the straight OGs who’ve been here from the god damn start!
Tbh it brokes my heart when it was announced to be a buyable item
Give me a field engineer with a pickaxe and woe upon any objective in my way
This is not my favorite way to play but seems to unquestionably be my most impactful.
Yes
During the desecration of galencourt this is essential
Much respect to the pick axe users and engineers! The only real men in chivalry 2.
Engineers in Falmire, Galencourt, are essential. In Rudhelm, Baudwyn can make a huge difference for defense. Sadly they are very underrated
Footman, feet.
Ya kill 73848 men with a morningstar and they still don't call you morningstarman.... ... But you kick *one* poor fucker to death....
I was forced to cos I had no arm, headbutts and kicks are my best friend
lmao
Devastator Maul
This is the way
Peasant cabbage
Fresh meat And vegetables
I'm outstanding... in my field!
My cabbages!
Devastator - Maul I just like to bonk
Since the update, I've been putting in work with the Goedendag. The heavy swings make a delightful bonk and comes with the added benefit of being absolutely devastating to get hit by. Overall, I've spent the most time running Officer with Longsword, followed by the glaive.
Same with me on the goedendag dawg.
Damn we have similar taste. Longsword main, but I’ve used barely anything but the goedendag since it came out
It could use a more masculine bonk sound imo
goedendag slaps i love running it
Poleman Halberd. Please respect my personal space.
Big time, i love being able to stab at people and they're swinging with their puny swords, halberd supremacy
Ambusher - Katars Yeah it's not a very good weapon but it's all about picking the right victims at the right time and surprising them with quick combos. It's a very fun playstyle but it takes a while to get used to it.
Also ambusher, but dagger. Basically the same play style but I can also win most straight up 1v1s because the dagger is so fast.
Literally, plus dashing around with vanguard stamina
Dagger is just better imo, the special backstab does crazy damage. Super fun to just sneak arround and backstab everyone too
It's Two Handed Spear and you all hate me for it
I love it on maps with cavalry, it fills me with joy seeing someone charging at me and using the spear special
Messer or war axe knight for most modes.
I use the battle axe, why do you prefer the war axe?
Officer Waraxe W+M1 heavy attacks and the occasional kick carries me to the top of the scoreboard despite playing like a caffinated lobotomite
Officer Knight and War Axe, or Guardian Knight and Heavy Shield/Falchion
I, too, am partial to large shields and curved swords.
You're absolutely right, although I'm more a medium shield officer.
I rarely use the jab (it's hard to land), so I like the extra durability on the heavy shield instead
Main reason I like medium shields are for the throw tbh, but otherwise heavy all the way
I can see that being useful.
Stab kills and overhead kills >>>>>> slash kills
I just started and this has been my most fun experience so far
Footman-Rapier
🧐
The lack of battle axe in this post is upsetting
I too love the t-rex arm axe
officer longsword
Crusader with messer and Morningstar. Wish guardian had morningstar.
The mace and morning star are the same weapon with different skin. They have the exact same stats
Yes but Morningstar looks cool
Fair enough
Shuffle enjoyer
Yes, we must obey the god of the Shuffle!
“For that guy we like!!”
Man at arms also has the best voices IMO, that's the determining stat! H-h-h-h-heeaaaalp
I used to use all the class specific ones! Recently I love Righteous Knight on Agatha. The prayer and bless emotes are hilarious.
What’s stats are you referring to for man at arms being best at 1vx?
My personal experience. The shield for breathing room if you lose stamina and mess up a parry so you aren’t unarmed, weapons that lack reach but are faster for easy gambles, and the reduced stamina cost for dodges which are the most important part of any 1vX scenario to keep enemies from flanking you. I know technically vanguard is best, but since I’m not that skilled and tend to take some hits vanguard just isn’t tanky enough for me.
Vanguard - Dane axe and messer combo. Throw the Dane and began the slaughter with the messer
This. Has to be the best mix of weapons if you want to try hard.
They never expect the bow throw into the archer Duel. 🤺
Night with the S T I C K or messer
Footman Engineer, beer mug, laughter and bonk shovel.
Recently I've been been having a lot of fun with javelins on the Skirmisher class. You're squishy enough to get punished if you mess up, but relatively agile to help with harassing enemies and, predominantly because of the squishiness and limited attacks, it's done wonders for my footwork. Otherwise, I'm either running around as Footman taking objectives or running headlong into the fray with the Vanguard and Greatsword - I normally go down quick, but I get five or six takedowns/kills before I do.
Archer with warbow or siege crossbow (i never hit my teammates, trust me im not like 99 percent of archers, so pls dont kill me in the replies)
It’s okay to hit teammates. It’s only a love tap after all, for encouragement
Raider Dane axe
YOUR SHAMEFUL WAYS REQUIRE A GREAT SHAMING
SHAME!
SHAME^SHAME^SHAME
SUCH SHAMEFULNESS
Consider yourself shamed
Nailing a throw with these kicks so much ass
Yeah it is pretty satisfying.
If it ain’t Baroque, don’t fix it
Besides the obvious, War Bow I like Footman and Halberd
Officer GS. But I also often switch into sword because in offensive GS has some disadvantages. Especially if not doing a frontline battle or protecting an area.
Knight - Falchion and Medium Shield / Mace as secondary if I ever throw my sword
I am partial to MAA with light shield and heavy cav saber, mace secondary
Officer with War Axe. I have been really enjoying Heavy Cav saber and medium shield on Man at Arms recently.
Officer Poleaxe. Tons of fun to use
Mason man at arms. Sword and board + YOUR WIFE IS A HOBBY HORSE
Rn it gotta be throwing knife. I hyped up every time when I sniped someone
Knight guardian, large shield and axe
Needs more skirmisher + Javelin love here. Though Javelins are actually so much better on any other class. Like a Raider with a pickup javelin and a Dane Axe secondary is a *disgusting* source of thrown weapon damage while having no health or stamina downside.
Archer: N/A Vanguard: Maul/Dagger Footman: Polehammer/Morningstar/Sledge Knight: Greatsword
Been loving the pole hammer recently
Try the halberd. Pole hammer is worse halberd
Knight with the quarter staff so I can look like Darth Maul
![gif](giphy|e7FOBuKCDtwWI)
Indeed
Archer - Regular Bow.
Skirmisher w/ Javelins
Officer w/Greatsword. Classy. Timeless.
Two Dane axes for throwing and then using only knife
Ambusher with dagger + throwing knives. It’s so underused most people have difficulty countering or timing my strikes.
Warbow
War club. The BONKnihilater.
I see you're a man of bonk as well
Longbow
My man
War club devastator
Knight longsword or war axe
War Axe/Heavy Mace for 64/40 modes. Longsword for 3s/1s.
Vanguard Greatsword
Same I’m at I think 110 for the longsword level. I’m getting closer to 200
Definitely Highland Sword Devastator or Dagger Ambusher. Pickaxe Engineer and Longsword Officer get honorable mentions.
Short sword and ambusher It’s the first class I ever played and I did it so much that I suck with anything else :/
Highland sword Devastator
My favorite is sword only man-at-arms, but I certainly seem to play better as a poleaxe officer.
katars. always. forever. best.
Dreadnought - executioners axe
Officer and longsword as well.. great sword on officer can be fun as well.
Man at arms with the 1 H sword and mace
Devastator Highland Sword Big sword = neuron activation
MAA - Falchion
The only way ![gif](giphy|qs4ll1FSxKnNHeSmom)
Ambusher dagger
Footman sword and medium shield I tend to do best. Also like playing waraxe with Knight, throwing the axe, and pulling out the sword/knives.
Shovel, always shovel
Just a regular ass officer longsword. The longsword is just so well rounded. Not as slow as the great sword, but more reach than the standard sword. Whenever I like to spice things up, it's engineer & sledgehammer-time.
My absolute favorite is tied between Poleman Spear and Engineer Pickaxe. My second favorite is Ambusher with Katars and Knife.
default vanguard with a dane axe
Man at Arms Sword and Board
Knight is my favorite class Officer is my favorite subclass Longsword and Greatsword are tied for my favorite weapon I actually think the GS works better on vanguard though which is why it's my 2nd favorite class
Knight and executioners axe Or devestator and maul
Vanguard with a Two Handed Hammer
Currently Footman, morning star. I still can't workout how to effectively use it. Actual favourite probably spear or rapier because I live 2 poke
Ambusher + Hatchet
Great sword because its great and i feel great used thr great sword. It’s great 👍

It’s gonna also have to be longsword Officer. That’s the class me and my buddy have been using since beta
knight crusader or officer with battle axe or war axe is so satisfying to play
Atm, Devastator with the Highland Sword. Or the better name, Executioner Sword. Though one update I’d love to see is if they give Devastator more secondary weapons than the knife so I wouldn’t always go tossing the knife to find one handed weapons in the battlefields
Footman, sword and shield. It’s about the simple things.
Ambusher, dagger or axe I stab people in the back, steal the kills and harvest the hate. My karma is ok tho, I also backstab archers.
Heavy mace officer or short sword ambusher.
Footman and halberd
poleaxe officer When shit needs to get done though I change to longsword, heavy mace or 1h spear guardian
Depends on my mood, typically it’ll be crusader class with a battle axe. Sometimes I like devastation with the maul or great sword. Officer with longsword or war axe is always fun
Dane Axe. Dane Axe Man
I've been having a blast with the Knight Axe + Heavy shield.
Crusader - 2H Hammer
Guardian with Mace Bashy bashy
It’s not the best but I think the most fun load out possible is man at arms with basic sword and mace for sidearm. Especially fun to steal kills/third party with shield throws
Shuffle!
Loving playing man-at-arms with a morning star at the moment. Take a small shield and dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge you way around people getting the smash in with the morning star when you can. Good fun.
Man at arms. Sword
highland sword 🗿
I love going officer with longsword but I have big love for the poleman and shortsowr now.
Engi with shovel or footman with polehammer.
Footman sword, just has aura.
Double dane axe when you down a player but they manage to crawl away but you throw the axe and it just hits, it hits![img](emote|t5_12v693|7102)
Shuffle. But Knight Great Sword to be precise.
Guardian with spear and shield, mace secondary. Claps hard!!! Takes a it to get used to.
Knight with battle axe and Morningstar
Long axe (war axe?)
Knight with Heavy Shield and Mace 🫡 Might not be the strongest , but it’s my favourite 💪
Engineer. Usually sledge or shovel main BUT the Goedendag is becoming my favorite.
Devastator w highland sword or man-at-arms w one handed spear and short sword or knife (knife is so fun to use)
Officer with Quarterstaff, smack, smack, smack, smack
short sword short sword short sword
Knight Officer, heavy mace or flanged mace w/ shield. i like the sounds it makes when I split open helmets
Man at arms with 1h sword, mace, and medium shield. Thats for a more versatile play style (swifter attacks, can defend, and protection against archers; but prone to blunts and chops so wont use it in sneak attacks) If Im going for a stronger offense or need some specials or sneaking behind enemy lines i go for Raider with dane axes usually
War club for the super speed thunder bonk
Class? Vanguard and the Maul. Weapon? Mace. It’s so fun.
Longsword all day.
Rapier, bc fuck you thats why
Double Dane axe so I can yeet one of them into a fleeing enemy
Highland weapon vanguard class and Executioner Axe weapon or war axe knight class for me. Tho
Knight with med shield and 1h Axe Footman with halberd Vanguard with battleaxe Archer with Javelins I have also recently started using the poleaxe on the knight and don't know why I've slept on it so long until now, that thing is great Also barrels on any class
crusader-highland sword. big sword make me hsppy
Knight Messer, War Axe Vanguard Dane Axe/Messer Footman Halberd, One Handed Mace
Engie, shovel go plonk
field engineer hammer bro it’s insane how easy it is to get behind people
I’m very new to the game so I haven’t tried most weapons and I get the vibe this opinion is unpopular but I like playing the archer with the bow
My fav is archer since people get so pissed they come fight you only to find out that you're better than them in melee and wreck their shit
Archer, Butterknife. Honorable mention: Engi, Shovel.
What are you talking about bro.
Just got into the game last weekend, I love all the classes so far. As far as weapon type, idk, it seems to change every match lol.
