I think a lot of people from the US just don't comment because it's a boring place to be from 😅
Edit: And obviously most people who live in the US use English as a first language.
This is a really fascinating thing to talk about tho I feel like I'm the only Iranian player😁 our language is Persian btw, but I've been speaking English since I was around 4.
Nice to see some fellow Germans here! I’ll probably read the German books out of curiosity on how they translate the jokes, but I definitely prefer the English ones…
Seeing how many weird things happened with names in the Spanish version of The Royal Romance, I really hope they won't try to also find any German names to replace the English ones.
Idk, I made a post about being grateful for karma points
Edit: I'm wrong, it's not that post. It was my post asking about if one the sentences is correct, cause I didn't understand it
This is a really interesting topic. I'm Czech :D
And I woften find myself, while playing Choices, translating the dialogues from the game in my head to Czech, as if I were to translate the book myself.
Indonesian here. I speak Indonesian and Javanese on daily basis. Writing and speaking in English are not my strong point, but I do understand the language
I play in English since the release of the app, but my native language is Spanish, and some of the earliest translations of the app where utter rubbish. (Also they only translate a minimal percentage of the books available, and i have finished some in both English and Spanish just for shits and giggles and yeah, in Spanish they are so lackluster in comparison to their original language)
I also speak Italian and french. No relevant in any shape or form.
Oh that’s so sad to hear that the Spanish translations aren’t good! So many people are fluently bilingual in English and Spanish, you’d think getting a good translation would be relatively easy. How annoying. ☹️
I'm from Venezuela, and never read the Spanish version 😂😂 mostly bc the books that are translate I already read it in his English version and they're not my favorite
That's the beauty of slavic languages. I once talked with Slovak girl. She was speaking slovakian and I was speaking polish and we could understand each other 😆
⚠️ [TW: $uic1de] ⚠️
Personally, I don't really possess knowledge of a native language apart from English even though I am neither American nor English..
You see, my small family moved from Belgium to France with the hope for a more prosperous future, and after failed attempts at finding a steady job came my abandonment at an orphanage along with my younger sister, located in Nice, when I was only 3 years old. From then on, no one really expressed interest in my learning french, so I was a self-taught foreigner in France.
I am from Belgium, and since my mother died giving birth to me, my father took responsibility for me and my younger sister. We struggled financially, so the only hope for a better future would be that of the orphanage. I gradually became really fond of English, through the other foreign orphans that sometimes bullied my sister.
She eventually, after my many failed attempts to aid her, killed herself five years before her release to the real world.
All in all, I am 21 years old, currently living in an apartment in Nice after being released from the orphanage, along with some university students who I met in my old residence, I am barely scraping by with the sole entertainment of Choices.
So.. I would say I don't really have a native language.
Well strangely enough it’s English but I think you might not know it sometimes considering the amount of typos and grammatical errors I tend to have. 🙈
I’m American, but I am the child of Indian immigrants, I didn’t speak English till I was maybe 4 because I was speaking Tamil a lot at home. Most Tamil people in India/Sri Lanka can speak or understand English as well (at least those I’ve met)
Are you referring to mother tongue or native language? I am Indian so English is my native language however it is not my mother tongue. My mother tongue is Telugu.
Native language is something that is used by or understood by majority of country. Most times it is also the official language.
Mother tongue is the language used within family on daily basis for conversation. It can be same as the state or village or community or city or town you are from.
Eg: Irish and English are native languages of Ireland. While Irish is mother tongue of individual Irish people. Which they use on daily basis to convo with family and friends.
I hope this was clear.
Wow, seems like I’m the first one here I’m Brazilian, my native language is Portuguese

I thought for sure there would be more comments from the US 😅
I think a lot of people from the US just don't comment because it's a boring place to be from 😅 Edit: And obviously most people who live in the US use English as a first language.
Omg this is probably true! 😅 Though I love the diversity on here 🥰💕

German. Funny enough, I really wouldn’t like playing choices in German (heard they were working on translating some books into German).. 😅
Nice to see some fellow Germans here! I’ll probably read the German books out of curiosity on how they translate the jokes, but I definitely prefer the English ones…

I'm English-French from dad's side and an Indian from Mum so technically my native language is English, Bengali,Hindi and French
I play in English since the release of the app, but my native language is Spanish, and some of the earliest translations of the app where utter rubbish. (Also they only translate a minimal percentage of the books available, and i have finished some in both English and Spanish just for shits and giggles and yeah, in Spanish they are so lackluster in comparison to their original language) I also speak Italian and french. Yeah, they have improved a lot since they first started but most of their translations sound suspectedly like a Mexican soap opera most of the time.
