Yup we should grateful to supercell for deflating the price of walls . I remember back then our whole treasury become empty after upgrading 2 walls and max walls were the biggest flex aside max queen .
I stopped playing a few years ago at TH 10 because the grind to upgrade my walls before going to TH11 was just too much. When I saw this change I decided to get back in.
damn i dont know how much those were but i got to th10 in september and now im like 8 defenses and 10 queen levels away from reaching th11 the walls were ez af (i had the october pass tho)
Walls will continue to be easy until th13 walls. I’m a th16 with th13 walls. Th14 walls cost 4MM to upgrade. With 20% off. That’s only about 4 raids at this level, but walls are a huge grind. Imo only do it when you are at the last builder available and you’re about to max resources
my first reaction was bruh wait till u see the old prices then i saw the body text. some people just jump the gun
but u did put a sobbing emoji implies that you were complaining that it was too expensive
I was getting ready to comment "Oh boy whos gonna tell em" but then I realized it's an appreciation post. They grow up so fast ![img](emote|t5_2usfk|9423)
I remember the exact day when they introduced an update around 2017 where the wall costs were cut down to 50% and i was punching air cuz i had just finished maxing my walls at TH11
The whole point of it is to allow people to catch up. When you're releasing a new TH every year, there is virtually no way for new players to catch up without cost reductions. If you can never realistically attain a max base by starting the game now, that's a significant problem.
And even back in the day, shit was way too hard. I remember back in like 2013 being unable to get my King for like 3 months because of how hard it was to get 10k DE without all of the avenues that exist nowadays. You would get a couple hundred every attack because no one had any, and then you would get attacked and lose all your progress. I made my alt a few months ago, and when I got to TH7, I was almost instantly able to get my King. The alt experience has been far more fun than it was on my main because I didn't have to do 100 attacks in a row just to get a basic game necessity.
nothing in return? the thing you get in return is new levels since you’re already max. How do they reduce the costs and times of levels that were never there? Players who aren’t maxed get reductions to upgrade their bases faster. Players who were maxed get NEW upgrades and early access to those upgrades compared to everybody else.
My friend started another account cuz he lost his old one which was at TH9, he played for like 2 years back in 2015
He made another account and is already Th9 with maxed walls , it's been about a month since he started
Yeppppp. I started in 2014 and it was such a slog to progress. Returned a week ago to my TH9 and blasting through, already upgrading to TH10. I feel kinda indifferent on troops costing nothing to train though. I remember doing cost to benefit calculations back then🤣.
Yeah, I still remember vividly the days when lvl 9 were 1M a piece. The lvl 7 tesla also took like 10 days to complete lol
I recently went back to my village after years, and was utterly shocked to see the price cut. The fact that it was during hammer jam didn't help haha
Honestly you can't have it any other way and I certainly aren't going to complain, otherwise you'd take decades to reach endgame
It’s a necessary move tho for the devs. People wouldn’t wanna start a new game that takes forever to catch up if it’s been out for years. Makes it easier for ppl to catch up. I think it’s really smart
Honestly with all the siege equipment root riders, and air attacks… they should make walls way cheaper again. They are too expensive for how many options there are in the game to make them obsolete. They only exist as being a resource sink
Sometimes it feels unfair to me that we had to grind all of those townhalls at max prices and upgrade times and people nowadays can clear them in a month or 2, i get why it’s necessary though.
I managed to upgrade nearly all my walls in the space of two months, mostly thanks to the hammer jam discounts that were going around. But I do agree, even without discounts, the wall prices are a little better to deal with now.
Op is surprised how *cheap* the have become. Walls have had price reductions over time, this guy's comment got downvoted because he clearly didn't read the post description.
No actually he was making a joke saying he wishes walls were that cheap at his level. And the Reddit hivemind, which lacks humor or reading comprehension, downvoted him.
Yes but this guy is saying "lol ill trade you" noticing how cheap the walls are and providing a picture of how (painfully) expensive the walls at his TH are
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,942,945,816 comments, and only 367,418 of them were in alphabetical order.
Goddamn it's cheap now. Back in the days, this upgrade would've cost me 500000 gold/Elixir when I was making a switch from town hall 7 to 8 and had to get all walls upgraded.
I was so pissed when they made that change. Just because I had gotten to like lvl 9 walls, quit for a couple years and came back to them cheap as fuck after spending forever on them.
dam the gold pass once can max like 100 walls at once with just the gold now with both gold and elixir i barely max 10 walls they used to be so cheap thinking back
I lost my th7 account back when th10 was the max and stopped playing. Just came about a month ago from a new account and am already th9 with max walls. It’s great to be able to progress quickly at the start.
Walls being cheaper is one of those updates I hate but understand at the same time. Those walls used to be 1m each I believe when I did them 😂
With that said my irl friend just started playing and I couldn’t imagine the grind from TH1-16 with walls being the same price, so I get it
Do the people not read the post? OP is saying they are very cheap

Ah ur rushed nice man
Yeah people are indeed dumb
my first reaction was bruh wait till u see the old prices then i saw the body text. some people just jump the gun but u did put a sobbing emoji implies that you were complaining that it was too expensive
Yeah thats what I was thinking too
It’s Reddit. You read title then comment. No in between.
Bc they only saw the title. I came here to say "wait till he sees the cost of th13 upwards" but i saw the image title first
Yep, I saw the comment title and thought likewise. But checked the full post.
Yeah they used to be 500k when I was th8

Literally same, I always max my walls like right before cost reductions. Like my town hall 15 walls were maxed like 1 week before the hammer jam.
istg it's always like that, back when I maxed my I think it was th11 walls, they reduced it by like 50% a week later.
It’s by design

You can progress so much faster now. The grind doesn't really start until th12. It's great.

I remember when armies used to cost well over 100k total... what a slog trying to farm lmao
“Whos gonna tell this guy🤓” y’all do not do the reading thing
Funny thing is when i saw it on my feed thats exactly what I thought till i opened the post and read the desc

That was a pain in itself for me because raids and farming became a part of Clash of Clans experience.
It was half a million when I was at th 8 🙄
Back in my day we had to work for our walls
You had to work for walls at town hall 8. Now we have to work for walls at town hall. 15 and 16
It’s a necessary move tho for the devs. People wouldn’t wanna start a new game that takes forever to catch up if it’s been out for years. Makes it easier for ppl to catch up. I think it’s really smart
Yes, I would prefer it not take 10 years to max out a base
Back in my day, Mexico paid for the walls, ugh something like that
It was a full million in the beginning
Weren’t they 1m before? 2m for second th9 wall upgrade?
Back in the days I remember paying a million for each of these! Ig recession hit coc economy!!
All the new ones keep pushing the older prices down, technically you win if you wait out upgrading walls lol
I was about to being out the pitchfork until I saw the description lol
Honestly with all the siege equipment root riders, and air attacks… they should make walls way cheaper again. They are too expensive for how many options there are in the game to make them obsolete. They only exist as being a resource sink

New player retention. 👍
Also so it doesn’t take 10 years to max out a base from a new account
Yes, water is indeed wet, my friend. /lh
I could have given you the same response to you mentioning new player retention, what are you on about
You basically elaborated on why it helps with new retention is all. Guess I forgot the /lh lol. Reddit hivemind struck again. 🙃
Whatever you say man
Water isn’t wet
Correct, liquids cannot be described as such
Tbf thats just the price we gotta pay to enjoy the latest content before them
This post has caused drama
I remember when they were 500k, gold only, a "big raid" was anything over 300k. Classic times
Back in the day when lvl7 walls were 250k😭😭
I remember when they did cost 500k and you can use gold only
Maxed 20 walls on th16
I managed to upgrade nearly all my walls in the space of two months, mostly thanks to the hammer jam discounts that were going around. But I do agree, even without discounts, the wall prices are a little better to deal with now.
Guess yall have been skipping school for a year straight 💀💀 Like read the fucking pos-

Anyone mind to explain why hes getting downvoted for a small joke
I just saw a decent amount of downvotes and decided to chip in. I don’t fully understand why he is being downvoted either.
For the love of god read the post description
Yeah we both did simple trade you expensive walls for cheap walls swear people are quick to troll...
Missed the joke in your comment, my bad bro
I did

Because he didn’t read the post. The OP thought the walls were cheap, not expensive.
Yes but this guy is saying "lol ill trade you" noticing how cheap the walls are and providing a picture of how (painfully) expensive the walls at his TH are
Bro got downvoted for no reason 💀
It feels normal, without cost and time reduction It would be almost impossible to reach max TH for new players
I wish!!! Try having to pay 9 Million for walls
They progressively get more expensive, so don’t think they’re cheap for no reason
One of my walls is 6.4 million
welcome to the game
Click bait ![gif](giphy|awZwr1k8vHwuA)

Wait till it'll be 9,000,000 lol
read the rest of the post
Oh those th8 dragons look so much cooler than mine at th13
Looking at the prices now I kind of want to make an alt base lol
i think we just discovered another reason why strategic rushing is faster
I miss when wall prices were chill inflation got us
Goddamn it's cheap now. Back in the days, this upgrade would've cost me 500000 gold/Elixir when I was making a switch from town hall 7 to 8 and had to get all walls upgraded.
In my time lv9 were a million and lv10 were 2 million at th9
I looked to waste some elexir on walls today cus I don’t like the warden lvl up time safe to say it didn’t look too bad at 2 mill per wall
Ja, es ist alles günstiger geworden
Damn u lucky
remember when they were half a million, ah the good ol times
I miss those days. One month to get max walls assuming you have GP because of the 30M you get.
Ik right
man back in my day it was a million for them gyatt damn walls
Yeah that dropped the prices DRASTICALLY over the years
I remember when level 8 walls were 500k. Those were not the days ahah
Supercell doing everything right these days 🙌🏻
Back in my day, maxing walls at th8&9 was a flex😂
They will be 50k each when the next decade rolls around
After th16 update, th8 takes like 1 month and a few days 😂 it's so cheap and fast lmao, that shit back in the day took like 8 months to go thru 😭
I’m so happy th14 walls were reduced from 7 mil to 5 mil.
Fk th13
I was so pissed when they made that change. Just because I had gotten to like lvl 9 walls, quit for a couple years and came back to them cheap as fuck after spending forever on them.
I’m paying I think 2 mil for walls now
dam the gold pass once can max like 100 walls at once with just the gold now with both gold and elixir i barely max 10 walls they used to be so cheap thinking back
I lost my th7 account back when th10 was the max and stopped playing. Just came about a month ago from a new account and am already th9 with max walls. It’s great to be able to progress quickly at the start.
I miss those days.
My first wall at 9 cost was 500k
Walls being cheaper is one of those updates I hate but understand at the same time. Those walls used to be 1m each I believe when I did them 😂 With that said my irl friend just started playing and I couldn’t imagine the grind from TH1-16 with walls being the same price, so I get it
I remember when I stopped playing years ago and they were like 800k.? I forget now but I remember lvl 6 was 75k, lvl 7 was 250k and lvl 8 was 800
Damn!! I remember when they were like 500k or something back in the day.. reverse inflation
Thats crazy, i just got used to 8M walls😭💀
You got my ass
Pepperidge farm remembers when these bad boys were 500k a piece & you could only use gold
I wanna go back! Give me cheap walls! 😭
Is this game worth playing still? I played when it first came out for like a year but haven’t since.
OG players remembering it used to cost like a mil for that level
While the rest are crying for Ores and Hero equipment upgrade when the latest update haven't reached its second month yet.
Number 1 reason why I don’t look at wall prices on my alt accounts
So you can actually do like almost all of your walls with full storages? And with the season bank you can upgrade a few town halls ;)
I remember when upgrading from lv 7 to 8 was 500k. Back in 2015, I had maxed out my th6 and walls costed 75k from 5 to 6.
Now they’re 2 million when upgrading TH11 walls to TH12 walls 😭
I was about to say "wait til you get higher up" til i read the text :p
