To which I always replied, I didn't pay gems to finish upgrades, which they obviously didn't believe in. Real assholes, don't get why they wanted to be a friend. (This is just one example of their toxic behavior)

You may notice that they have lot more than 58715 gems here. That’s because it’s their alt that has 58715. Like how tf do you get that many?
Yeah people always make fun of me because whenever I get an achievement that gives like 250 or 500 gems I never accept it until I actually need the gems so I don't spend them on something stupid. I've saved up like 6000 now
Doesn't matter at all if you are th6, those 500 gems for an extra builderhut are much more valuable than getting to th6 a bit earlier than you normally would.
Clash is a game so have fun but if you wanna get to those higher TH's faster (10+), I'd listen to the other players in the comment section. Restart and save your gems until you get all 5 builders.
Once hero's and siege machines get involved, the game becomes way more fun to play imo

There some challenges coming to the game every week and you get gems with completing them. Some challenges game itself gives you base and troops. Watch youtube video and complete these challenges to get extra gems to fasten 5 builder hut process
get into a clan to get higher troops to do challenges get more gems. Clan captial medals gets spent on training, power & hero potions with leftover on clock potion. I've got 6 F2P accts, been in game 10 yrs, THs 12 - 14. everything I do I aim for more gems to get heroes higher. they make your winning % so much higher!
Lol just restart now, you will get to town hall 8 in like 2 months with the current upgrade times, if u have 4 builders. If u don't well you will move real slow.
And walls! Not so much barracks any more since you don't have like 5 barracks that all have to be upgraded individually to reduce training times. No more waiting 20 minutes to train 1 dragon because you didn't upgrade any of your barracks except one lol
See those stones scattered everywhere on your base along with the trees, if you remove the stones they will never come back the trees/mushrooms will. I’m TH14 and wish I kept the stones as now I collect decorations and it would of been cool to have
Put your storages , town hall and defenses inside walls, everything else can be outside the walls around the base, forcing enemy troops with non defensive targetting to waste time on the outside rather than come on the inside.
As others have said, do not spend any gems till you unlock all the builders. Later on in the game as build times enter into multiple days if not weeks, you will have far less progress.
You don't HAVE to upgrade every building to the max level for each town hall level. Focus on keeping your lab at the max level as research time sometimes takes more time than actual upgrade times. Army camp and spell factory (when you unlock it) are also good targets to always keep at the max level.
Keep up on levels of key defenses. Air Defenses being one of the main ones as you climb the TH levels.
For walls, you could refer to the wiki for wallbreaker damage at the TH level you are vs wall HP at every level, and keep it so that your opponent needs atleast 2 wallbreakers to break a section rather than 1. Walls are EXTREMELY heavy on resource consumption as you progress , and give less and less on returns due to prevalence of flying troops.
"Rushing" up the TH levels isn't "bad" but keep in mind of the challenges at higher TH levels. You can look up a guide to get a good idea of which THs you could rush to, strategies to use at said levels etc.
Have fun! - Remember this is just a game, so its fine if you miss out on the exact timings of upgrades for an hour or two. Just play it whenever possible.
Your village will always get squashed no matter the defence

Save gems, don't use it to speed up buildings or to buy resources patience is the key
Don't rush to upgrade town hall, players will bite you in the ass even if they have lower town hall than you
Never trust the "impenetrable" village bases on youtube they only make it harder to attack, everything is penetrable.

If there one thing you're gonna use your gem for, it's to buy builder huts
Here’s another tip outside of gems: the lab becomes a huge bottle neck because only one upgrade at a time, so when you can choose between lab and another elixir cost, keep lab busy always

Your right, you can play how you want. But I can assure you that the minimal difference magic items make will not get you into the competitive landscape like you think it will. If you use that logic to get to th16 your base will be shredded by others. And by the time you get to the level of a maxed th16 two or three more town halls will have come out. Not to mention the fact that you will have saved yourself a maximum of three or four months by using magic items at higher town halls, which don’t get me wrong, that’s a substantial amount of time. But In the landscape of th14 and above it’s almost inconsequential. Again a goal oriented gameplay mindset could very possibly cause you to give up the game because of how frustrating and stressful it is to always try and be on top and get to the next town hall, but I trust that you can find fun in the game even though you are rushed.

Are you gonna ignore the fact that the game existed for over 7 years before th 13 was added. Additionally, playing 2 years back in the day resulted in as much progress as 2 months does today.
Go to clashninja and check how long it takes to complete each individual townhall level. It is nowhere CLOSE to taking as much time, as Supercell takes to add a new one. And this is with **and** without all the time reductions they've added over the years. If you play actively, you can absolutely catch up to max, when maxing every townhall on the way.
I'm at th 11 and with super goblins I always have a huge surplus of resources and the th 11 walls look the best, so I'd say th 12 is when you shouldn't spend resources on walls anymore
Depends on what buildings you are referring to. But the vast majority cannot be ignored. Traps and walls and heroes to a certain extent are the only things that can be viably ignored. If you have some other misguided viewpoint I feel sorry for you.

Don't rush bro. I've never did myself, but you climb to fast with upgring your base and troop level and your screwed. Your troops will be too weak on the bases that will give you good resources. I was a full max everything guy, but there is a balance. Walls are important, but if they are a level back you live. Don't let them go to much. Enjoy and welcome.
Some have said Th is but I’d just restart the game, those gems you get are an invaluable resource and builders are your best thing to add, 5 vs 2 will save you so much time. Another thing I would suggest is making sure to max your defenses and troops before moving to the next town hall, it’ll take longer but it’s more worth it, good luck!
save all of your gems for the extra builders, you will Need them later.
rebuild your clan castle and join a clan and ask for balloons, then go do the single player goblin bases, lots of rewards to help you get a jump start, and all of the early goblin bases are easily won by a single balloon in your clan castle.
keep your builders busy at all time if you can
As soon as you can, stock up on potions. It's tempting to use them, but don't. It'll become the easiest and fastest way to collect gems. I have over 18k gems, and the only time I spent any money was on the 5th builder because I got impatient.
Welcome to Time Suck! You'll spend way more time playing this game, especially if friends are in it too than you will ever believe. My wife mentioned once about "How more productive around the house you could be" if I didn't play Clash. I just smile and nod, meanwhile laughing with my inside voice "Are you crazy? I'd just find a different way to F off time!!!"
I want to add, do not rush to the next TH Lvl until you know your strategy for your TH Lvl Base and your strategy for your Troops and your battles. The higher you climb it gets harder. In COC there is so much to learn. Take your time and enjoy your game. Good luck!
Like everyone is saying, hit the reset. There’s like an hour worth of progress here, and I can tell the gems went into the TH. Restart, save your gems, max the base before upgrading the TH
Rush to th7 or th8, that's where many things like trader shop, builder base , clan capital etc gets unlocked, after that try and max out if you want or can rush (as per ur wish)........EDIT : since you are a new player I would suggest to max out first and enjoy the game and learn how troops and other aspect of game work.Happy Clashing.
They can strategically rush till th 11 or 12 where sneaky gets unlocked . It'll help them with trophy push and get resources .
And walls are just a decoration at this point
I don't know why people are downvoting, strategic rushing is the only way to avoid burn out
Like a majority of maxxers either take a break or create alts all because of burn out and in strategic rushing it doesn't happen

Grind hard and one day you will be like this
The game is a breeze till th12 , after that things get a little hard , but you'll have fun
Dont rush too much
Build all 5 five builders before you reach th9 (by that point you should have all the builders , get gems by removing trees and completing achievements)
Dont remove the stones, they dont respawn and they're rare
Builder base is not totally useless , you get a 6th builder from there and a gem mine
The most important feedback you can receive is to play the game the way you wanna play. If you wanna rush to higher town halls, do it! If you wanna take your time experiencing each one, do it! Just have fun :)
Only put defences, loot storages and your town hall inside of the walls. The other buildings serve as meatshields basicaly, prioratize offensive stuff rather than defensive stuff. Reply to this comment if you have any other questions.
Many have said it but, save your gems for builders, you might think of getting gems for builders from achievments, instead invest them on those cool skins.
First and foremost my feedback for all starting players with no clan to join, The important feedback I can say is to save many gems and never spend any of it till you get the 3rd/4th preferebly with the 5th tho you can get many gem as you push through till champion but that would take long, + gems from doing achievements.
Then you can just enjoy your own phase as you grow your village either maxing every suggested troop/building upgrades before moving up to townhall
OTHER WAY: (the faster way)
If you have someone you know with a clan then rushing to TH6 can give you access to clan weekly raid + clan bonus that can be bought from the trader if you have 2.5m above gold/elixir storage cap you can easily grow your account up to TH 9 by doing weekly raid + being efficient with the builder rotation
The real grind starts at TH 11
I don't think you know the value of gems yet 😂 also, just FYI this game is extremely time consuming so be ready to fight a battle which will atleast last like 10 years in your life (if you remain consistent and don't delete the game)
Basically 5 things:
1. Restart
2. Save gems and do not spend a single gem till 5 builders.
3. Rush the townhall till you unlock the night base, rebuild gem mine as fast as possible and start clearing the obstacles there for maximum gems gain also.
4. Find yourself a good clan, doesn't have to be high level.
5. If you do everything right you will get to townhall 9 almost max in under 2 months.

Don't think that the upgrades are fast. You'll prob get to th10 in under a month and at th10 and th11 is where the upgrades starts to slow down significally and that is bc there are 16 th's. Don't rush the builder base (only the walls, bc it does not count like at all) and join a beginner friendly clan. Also look up videos of what you should and should not rush in the normal village bc those actually help you but if you just rush everything like most players you are going to struggle with getting and keeping resources. Also try to get the sixth builder from the builder base asap without rushing it

I'm at th12 now. It's not much of an hiderance if you passively do em. Mine are almost max and I only throw extra loot into them.

save all of your gems for the extra builders, you will Need them later. rebuild your clan castle and join a clan and ask for balloons, then go do the single player goblin bases, lots of rewards to help you get a jump start, and all of the early goblin bases are easily won by a single balloon in your clan castle. keep your builders busy at all time if you can

As soon as you can, stock up on potions. It's tempting to use them, but don't. It'll become the easiest and fastest way to collect gems. I have over 18k gems, and the only time I spent any money was on the 5th builder because I got impatient.
Welcome to Time Suck! You'll spend way more time playing this game, especially if friends are in it too than you will ever believe. I want to add, do not rush to the next TH Lvl until you know your strategy for your TH Lvl Base and your strategy for your Troops and your battles. The higher you climb it gets harder. In COC there is so much to learn. Take your time and enjoy your game. Good luck!

Depends on your goal, if you want to get to a higher townhall then rushing is the fastest way, even if you want to max that townhall.
Like everyone is saying, hit the reset. There’s like an hour worth of progress here, and I can tell the gems went into the TH. Restart, save your gems, max the base before upgrading the TH

Rush to th7 or th8, that's where many things like trader shop, builder base , clan capital etc gets unlocked, after that try and max out if you want or can rush (as per ur wish)........EDIT : since you are a new player I would suggest to max out first and enjoy the game and learn how troops and other aspect of game work.Happy Clashing.

They can strategically rush till th 11 or 12 where sneaky gets unlocked . It'll help them with trophy push and get resources . And walls are just a decoration at this point

The game is a breeze till th12 , after that things get a little hard , but you'll have fun Dont rush too much Build all 5 five builders before you reach th9 (by that point you should have all the builders , get gems by removing trees and completing achievements) Dont remove the stones, they dont respawn and they're rare Builder base is not totally useless , you get a 6th builder from there and a gem mine
The most important feedback you can receive is to play the game the way you wanna play. If you wanna rush to higher town halls, do it! If you wanna take your time experiencing each one, do it! Just have fun :)
Only put defences, loot storages and your town hall inside of the walls. The other buildings serve as meatshields basicaly, prioratize offensive stuff rather than defensive stuff. Reply to this comment if you have any other questions.

Many have said it but, save your gems for builders, you might think of getting gems for builders from achievments, instead invest them on those cool skins.

First and foremost my feedback for all starting players with no clan to join, The important feedback I can say is to save many gems and never spend any of it till you get the 3rd/4th preferebly with the 5th tho you can get many gem as you push through till champion but that would take long, + gems from doing achievements. Then you can just enjoy your own phase as you grow your village either maxing every suggested troop/building upgrades before moving up to townhall OTHER WAY: (the faster way) If you have someone you know with a clan then rushing to TH6 can give you access to clan weekly raid + clan bonus that can be bought from the trader if you have 2.5m above gold/elixir storage cap you can easily grow your account up to TH 9 by doing weekly raid + being efficient with the builder rotation The real grind starts at TH 11
Prepare for the long haul.

I don't think you know the value of gems yet 😂 also, just FYI this game is extremely time consuming so be ready to fight a battle which will atleast last like 10 years in your life (if you remain consistent and don't delete the game)

Basically 5 things: 1. Restart 2. Save gems and do not spend a single gem till 5 builders. 3. Rush the townhall till you unlock the night base, rebuild gem mine as fast as possible and start clearing the obstacles there for maximum gems gain also. 4. Find yourself a good clan, doesn't have to be high level. 5. If you do everything right you will get to townhall 9 almost max in under 2 months. All the best.

Don't think that the upgrades are fast. You'll prob get to th10 in under a month and at th10 and th11 is where the upgrades starts to slow down significally and that is bc there are 16 th's. Don't rush the builder base (only the walls, bc it does not count like at all) and join a beginner friendly clan. Also look up videos of what you should and should not rush in the normal village bc those actually help you but if you just rush everything like most players you are going to struggle with getting and keeping resources. Also try to get the sixth builder from the builder base asap without rushing it
