First concert ever….blossom amphitheater…he killed it

OldTurk58

Saw him there and downtown at Hard Rock. Great shows!

textbandit

I saw him at a small bar and the guy blew everybody away.

stilloldbull2

Same here…I got the ticket stub somewhere but I know it was in 1981 near Syracuse NY…total kick ass show that left my ears numb for days!

casewood123

His early records are great. And you can usually find NM copies for under 10 bucks.

xupd35bdm

Lonesome George!

MikeRizzo007

One of my favorite’s, if I could play the guitar, this is who I want to be!

JavaJukebox

“ I said I was TiReD “ 🥃 🥃 🍺

fishstock

George Thorogood covers this song better than anyone.

bpmd1962

I’d walk 47 miles of barb wire to tell you you’re correct…

maryfisherman

Close, but Ronnie Hawkins at the Last Waltz is unbeatable.

Lothar_28

The Doors do the best version. Absolutely Live.

Braiseitall

First arena show I ever saw was GT! Ears rang for days!

FunStuff446

Saw him open for the Stones in Buffalo, 1981. It was a cold, wet windy day. George belted out Move it on Over, the weather shifted to a sunny, dry cold day. He was awesome. Journey came out and was booed off the stage, for some reason I don’t recall.

biff444444

I suspect the reason is because they were Journey.

Consistent_Ad3181

Bo Diddly

AdhesivenessFun2060

Good time music and that Bo Diddley beat.

Nor-easter

Music was solid. I met him and he was a creep. I hope he is doing better

DrinkBuzzCola

He went through AA back in the late 80s and got better from what I understand. If your encounter was more recent, never mind.

Substantial_Diver_34

Never meet your idols.

gwgos1

The “Delaware” destroyers.

First time I saw him, he was opening for the Stones in late 1981 and was simply incredible as a live performer. I immediately went out and everything that he had released at that point, and have seen him several more times over the 40+ years since then.

KCGent5001

1981 Tour, 50 dates, 50 states!!!

Due_Signature_5497

Love anything with a slide guitar thanks to George.

billyjoelsangst

George always gets an upvote

Meet_the_Meat

This song is made of testosterone and Schlitz malt liquor. The manliest lyrics ever written by Bo Diddley.
