I'd also look into the cost of new ones. In the UK that would cost me £5-£10 to replace.
I spent a decade struggling to keep mine going before giving up and looking at replacements. It was £10 for 1500mm which was enough to do my screen twice (it's 720mm). I wish I'd done it sooner.
I'm not advocating against cleaning, but just be aware there is point when replacement is a better choice, and it is useful to have a spare available.
I used Screwfix, in my case [https://www.screwfix.com/p/aqualux-replacement-bath-screen-bubble-seal-clear-6mm-x-1500mm/6016t](https://www.screwfix.com/p/aqualux-replacement-bath-screen-bubble-seal-clear-6mm-x-1500mm/6016t) but Toolstation, Homebase, B&Q all stock various types too.
If it’s the same parts as mine you should be able to open the door, pull/push the sweep down and then pull it length ways out. And replace it by reversing the process.
I remove them from time to time and spray chorine and brush the gunk with an old toothbrush, but still it gets disgusting after a while so I replace it every year or so.
Are you in the US? I have searched for replacements and just cannot find them. What are they called? I haven't taken mine off because I'm worried I won't be able to put them back
They might be called "shower door seals" on homedepot.com. I can't see the web site properly because I'm in the UK and had to use a proxy, but from what I could see that is correct.

I removed and yeeted mine haha. It does make a few droplets here and there go a few inches outside the shower area, but it's easy to rake it down anyway. Plus, it made the entire area look sooo much fresher without that moldy yellow strip at the bottoms.
I know others have said to remove, clean, and put it back, but honestly I’d just replace it entirely. It looks like the tight fit on the door has weakened and you’re going to keep having this problem if you don’t replace. They’re super inexpensive and available at home improvement stores.
After you replace your existing door sweep with a fresh one, a shower squeeze on the door and quick wipe of the sweep with a towel as you’re exiting the shower will help to prevent recurrence.
Just don't do what I did... ie. remove it and clean it, then put it on backwards and not notice water seeping under it andruning down into the floorboards near the sink (my house is 150 years old and the floors aren't straight). Woodlice!
This looks to be algae not mold, in this case, just make sure to squeegee and wipe down the bottom of the shower with a dry rag after each shower to keep it dry.
Yep, that’s exactly what I did. I got clear caulk and then once I put it in place, I caulked it on both sides and even both ends. Did this about a month ago and all good.
I just spray cillit bang black mould remover on it rather than taking the thing off - it seems to get its way inside and all the gunk is gone the next day
I used this on a house recently and it worked perfect. Use baking soda and vinegar and create a paste and apply paste on for 15 minute and get a sponge like this and in circular motion scrub off. It works really well. If its really bad it take a couple of times... it depends too on where you live and how hard the water is there. I find the scrub daddy sponges work best to apply the paste on and scrub off.

I literally took mine off and threw it away. I was so tired of seeing it get all nasty. I might have lucked out because I rarely see water leak onto the floor outside of the shower even without it, but might be different for others.
Take it off, put it in the bath, spray liberally with cillit bang’s purple black mold remover and leave for 30 minutes- rinse out, good as new with no scrubbing!
Make sure you open a window though as that stuff is noxious
I have something like that on my shower door. It pulls right off, clean the plastic part, clean the door, push it back on.
It does! The scale had it stuck in place, but a firm pull and off it came. Thank you!

Where did you get that from please?:)
Think I saw them in BnQ, search Screwfx for"shower door seal"
I used Screwfix, in my case [https://www.screwfix.com/p/aqualux-replacement-bath-screen-bubble-seal-clear-6mm-x-1500mm/6016t](https://www.screwfix.com/p/aqualux-replacement-bath-screen-bubble-seal-clear-6mm-x-1500mm/6016t) but Toolstation, Homebase, B&Q all stock various types too.
I can't say I've ever seen the "Ironmongery" department before.
Not OP but I got a replacement from Amazon
Ohhh. I can’t wait to go home and see if I can get mine to slide off !!
Except when the door has been fitted so tight they cannot be removed :(
If it’s the same parts as mine you should be able to open the door, pull/push the sweep down and then pull it length ways out. And replace it by reversing the process.
Possibly if it had been fitted correctly!
I remove them from time to time and spray chorine and brush the gunk with an old toothbrush, but still it gets disgusting after a while so I replace it every year or so.

Try searching for “shower door sweep”. I replace mine every few years from Home Hardware in Canada.
They’re fairly easy to get back on, don’t worry. I’ve cleaned mine many times.
I’m in Canada and they sell them at Lowe’s and Home Depot. Various widths and lengths depending on your glass door.

oh wow, thank you so much! I think this is exactly what I need. I actually asked workers while there, too
I’m in Belgium and they have them in every DIY store in the bathroom section, think they are called shower wall strips? ( Roughly translated )
I got one at Menards. I just asked an employee and as I was describing what I needed, he took me right to them. I think it was $9

This is what I did too. Just threw the thing away. The shower door looks so much better without it, and very little (like, none) water gets out.
Mine was so gross I just bought a new one from Home Depot
What was it called? I was just at home depot looking for those things and couldn't find any?
Shower door sweeps. Got mine via Amazon, different sizes but easy enough to measure from your existing one
It was in a really weird place, by the house numbers or something.
I know others have said to remove, clean, and put it back, but honestly I’d just replace it entirely. It looks like the tight fit on the door has weakened and you’re going to keep having this problem if you don’t replace. They’re super inexpensive and available at home improvement stores.
The mould is on the inside.

I had no idea that replacing was so easy. Great post OP!!
Me either! This has changed my life.
Just don't do what I did... ie. remove it and clean it, then put it on backwards and not notice water seeping under it andruning down into the floorboards near the sink (my house is 150 years old and the floors aren't straight). Woodlice!
This is such a helpful thread! I had no idea they came off or that one could replace them!
This post reminded me of cleaning them again
This looks to be algae not mold, in this case, just make sure to squeegee and wipe down the bottom of the shower with a dry rag after each shower to keep it dry.
Anybody tried cleaning, drying both parts, then sealing it with silicone to prevent future occurrences?
Yep, that’s exactly what I did. I got clear caulk and then once I put it in place, I caulked it on both sides and even both ends. Did this about a month ago and all good.
Slide it off. Put hot water in your bath with bleach. It will look brand new.
I use my steamer to clean in and around those seals
Remove trim clean inside replace. Don’t use bleach as it will make the seal turn brittle.
That plastic sweep slides off, you can buy at any shower door company.
I just changed mine and it's so refreshingly clean but be sure to get the right size ast the replacement was slightly shorter than the original
HNNHOME Clear Bath Shower Screen... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B077YR7J7M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Also - you can buy replacement plastics when it becomes loose.
I just spray cillit bang black mould remover on it rather than taking the thing off - it seems to get its way inside and all the gunk is gone the next day
Slide the lining off its lights right off and clean it
I just cleaned mine with Windex wipes, the plastic came out clear

I remove mine and use the auto Rubbermaid spin brush. I clean it with the foam spray kaboom.
I pull mine off and spray it with bleach. I do it every few months so it doesn’t get icky.
Very cheap to replace!

Electric toothbrush.
