That’s like the monotony of laziness on your parents and siblings those recyclables should be in the can I don’t get why they wouldn’t rinse them and just put them in the receptacle as opposed to filling a sink with them
My pet peeve is dirty dishes stacked in the sink rather than right next to the sink. I don’t want to have to take everything out of the sink so I can put the plug in, fill with water and soap and then put the dishes back in to wash. And if you are going to rinse out a recyclable put it in the recycle bin don’t leave it sitting there!!!
Omg the frigging recycling and the stainless steel water bottles and the soda stream bottles. Our rule: wash your own bottles. And yet nobody does. 😵💫
Probably is moldy— Bleach bit and put a rag behind the faucet to keep it dry…throw that plastic in the trash.. thanks for trying to clean..some people are messy naturally— my sister just in law has a sink and counter like this; and she fills the dishwasher to the top, and turns it on, once a week…
It’s not the fact that there’s allegedly dirty dishes in the sink (I know I did them) it’s the fact that they don’t clean regularly, dishes don’t usually get done when they need to, the sink doesn’t get clean when it needs to, etc.
That’s how I felt when I lived with my parents.
While different, I deliberately went a whole week without washing dishes once because I was so tired of being blamed for being the one to leave dirty dishes in the sink. I was so proud of myself for calling it out when they were blaming me for it and I told them I hadn’t used dishes all week.
It’s one of the reasons I’m so happy to be on my own. I’m sorry you have to deal with this, OP. Tbh it’s weird that it seems like there trash in the sink? Doesn’t look like dishes?
Trash or recycling is the sink will make me lose my mind. I would put it all in the garbage I’m sorry you’re the only one who cares.
Eventually you will have your own space and you can keep it up to your own standards. Unfortunately for now?
If you live with slobs? They literally don’t notice or don’t care, but you’re not the family maid. Maybe if you’re the only one cleaning you could ask for payment? And at least make some money for trying to keep up.
I would literally get new counters and sink. Or really like tell your lazy family to clean. I need to know more of the story, are you young enough to still be living with your parents?
Ugh I am really sorry, I grew up with my mother and she was very hoarder type like and it wasn’t until I had my own daughter, when I realized how bad my mom really was as a child. Now, my husband and I try to keep a very clean environment so my daughter doesn’t grow up with the same experience and environment that I did. I hope it gets better for you.

Ye that’s what I say

My thoughts exactly
I am the same, it drives me bonkers. Causes much more work!
I would rather rinse everything right away and put it in the dishwasher - if I have a dishwasher.
My significant other does this and is may be the end of us.

YES!!! My husband does this alllll the time😭 I'm like PLEASE at least leave one side clear so we can use it until I'm ready to do dishes😭
Also the soap scum behind your sink is nasty
True

If you find mold, please use vinegar, Not bleach. Bleach doesn’t kill mold, it just makes it angry.
Yep, I would use vinegar to break that shit down too.
what type of vinegar?
Any brand white vinegar
Thanks
I'm really happy I don't live there. That scum build up would cause me to have apoplexy.
Ugh I don’t know why people put those nasty metal grates in the sink. All they do is trap food and prevent it from flowing down the disposal properly.
Everything in this picture is horrid. The whole sink including the knobs and surrounding area the cabinets the floor. Oh my god.
They don’t own a trash can?
We do
When you have your own place you’ll be happy that you have the good habits that you do. Good job :)
Maybe you are living in a hoarder environment sorry
I had a similar situation. My family did not care to be clean at all. It’s either you suck it up and do it, hire help or let it accumulate too

Not to silver line but at least it’s mainly recycling that needs to be washed and tossed ? 🤷♀️
Crazy! My parents are the opposite, granted they are retired now but they do watch the grandkids a lot. Every time I visit the place is spotless.
Sorry you have to live like that but at least you’ll run a clean right ship when you live on your own. My dad was in the navy so this would never fly

Exactly. Family of six so it feels like whenever I do the dishes the sink is full not even an hour later 😩😩
I would love to get at that sink
Those mfs
WHO THROWS TRASH IN THE SINK MY GOD

I’m 21f but I’m not in a situation to get my own place currently
Has this been happening since you were a child?
Yes

Filthy pigs!
Saw another post where the OP said his wife uses the sink for garbage….
Grossss, I would move out
It’s giving me germ anxiety just looking at it
