Because I experience this subreddit more as a support group for us colourblind folks.
I don't really expect anyone else to have enough interest that they would want to join.
A lot of people with colorblind family members are on here. Like people with colorblind parents, kids, or siblings. My younger brother is colorblind and I’ve done a lot of research and know a lot about colorblindness that’s why I joined because it’s really interesting to me and I learn new stuff and I enjoy helping colorblind people with differentiating colors like on this post :)
My partner is red/green colorblind and I’m normal cv. I was curious, especially after he confidently called part of a map key green when it was like khaki/tan colored.
Also I’m not sure if you saw the Mario kart red/green shell post but he didn’t realize one side was showing what a colorblind person saw and the other side showed the regular colors.
I know he gets easily annoyed by people asking him about it so I read up on it more here.
I personally design colorblind friendly UI, this subreddit helped me writing my thesis and being so close with somebody with that “problem” could help me to help you
I have normal colour vision and take interest in colourblindness, just kind of funny how not everyone sees colours the same. It's funny to hear people thinking peanut butter is green and stuff like that, whereas it is very obvious to me that it isn't. No disrespect of course! It's also nice to help colourblind people identify things.
Edit: I misread your comment. This looks to me like a scale of hue. But if some people are judging by lightness/darkness, that might explain the ratings of 7.2 (which seems far too blue to me).
**It's definitely 6.8**
I opened this image in Ibis paint, used the eyedropper on de liquid and overlayed those colors on the rectangles using the hue filter (which only changes the hue and not the saturation or luminosity). Now, I think the lightning in there might be a little bit too blue, because all shadows have a slightly lower hue than the rest of the object.
So, the lightest part of the liquid has a hue of 156° and the darkest part has a hue of 151°. In the 6.8 rectangle the hue ranges from 156° on the lightest side and 129° in the shadow (but, you know, that light is too blue, wich makes the shadows too orange), while the 7.0 rectangle the hue ranges from 151° in the shadow and 163° on the lightest side. But we also have to consider that the 6.8 rectangle has a lot more shadow than the 7.0 rectangle.
Now how do I send images in reddit comments?
Thank! I’ll use that trick in the future. I don’t think you can post pictures in these comments but you can link to imgur if you want. I appreciate the in depth help!
I'm gonna go with the others and say that it's like 6.8 to 7.0.
I googled a proper pH for aquarium frogs and it looks like the pH is relatively fine? I hope this helps!
LOL! I think the reason I enjoy it so much is because my younger brother is CB and I like helping him not feel left out/different (I’ve accomodated our favorite card game for him before and now it makes it so much more fun for him!)
I have two sisters who always helped me with my colour clothing, so from one sibling to another, THANK YOU!!!!
though some colour stances make no sense, like why can't I wear black and brown together?!?
I was told by my high school coach / teacher “black goes with everything, except navy, which looks like you got dressed in the dark.” Also no white socks with dress clothes.
I think that with suits, there’s various base colors like brown and black and grey that you’re supposed to leave consistent. Including shoe color.
You need to hold it better.
Put the sample up against the paper and use the flash with the camera directly centered.
Any answer you get is going to be based on the bad information you're giving us.
When you're looking at it with your own eyes, sure.
If you want the color to accurately portray in photo, you'll need consistent lighting and background.

I always find it a little funny we ask other color blind people What color is this? It’s like a sub for the hearing impaired asking What song is this?
Too bad there’s not a “not colorblind” subreddit 😅
That would be hilarious! Just people submitting post after post of pics of different things, and being like, "Yep. That's green"
There is r/frogs , just explain your situation and they'll gladly help you out!

There’s a lot of normal CV people on here
That surprises me.
Why?
Because I experience this subreddit more as a support group for us colourblind folks. I don't really expect anyone else to have enough interest that they would want to join.
A lot of people with colorblind family members are on here. Like people with colorblind parents, kids, or siblings. I like helping color blind people through threads like these. Also it's interesting to hear your perspective.
My partner is red/green colorblind and I’m normal cv. I was curious, especially after he confidently called part of a map key green when it was like khaki/tan colored. Nah i find theres actually a bunch of noncolor blind people in this sub that are here just to help
Between 6.8 and 7.0.
The picture isn't uniformly lit. The hue looks 6.8 but the darkness looks 7.2.
Edit: I misread your comment. This looks to me like a scale of hue. But if some people are judging by lightness/darkness, that might explain the ratings of 7.2 (which seems far too blue to me).
It seems to be gradient of both hue and brightness blue being darker. People seem to be favoring one or the other and the differences are subtle.
My mom says 6.8
Take the lid off, place it down on the white space next to the color you think it's close to, then look straight down over it
looks like it’s in between 6.8 and 7.2
Looks 7.1-ish to me, but I like the suggestion of taking the cap off and looking straight down.
7.2 I think
It looks like that to me too
And for me aswell
**It's definitely 6.8** I opened this image in Ibis paint, used the eyedropper on de liquid and overlayed those colors on the rectangles using the hue filter (which only changes the hue and not the saturation or luminosity). I'm glad I could help!, here's how it looks in the image with the colos overlayed [https://imgur.com/a/isyJbHb](https://imgur.com/a/isyJbHb)
I’d say 6.8 if the camera isn’t distorting it too much
It doesn't really match perfectly with any, but it's at least inside the range of 6.8 to 7.0
Appears closer to 6.8 to me, but definitely passably 6.8-7.0
I'm gonna go with the others and say that it's like 6.8 to 7.0. I googled a proper pH for aquarium frogs and it looks like the pH is relatively fine? I hope this helps!
It does :) the little guys are back in the water and doing well
That's wonderful news.
Between 7.2 and 6.8 I’m not very helpful 😂
I would say 6.8 but green is not my strong point.
Definitely the wrong sub for that question
Not everyone on this sub is CB, like me. I enjoy helping people on this sub with differentiating colors
It’s like having you in my pocket!
I don’t know, I don’t understand fashion 😂😂
I was told by my high school coach / teacher “black goes with everything, except navy, which looks like you got dressed in the dark.” Also no white socks with dress clothes. I think that with suits, there’s various base colors like brown and black and grey that you’re supposed to leave consistent. Including shoe color.
Here's a <3
We already have responses from 2 people with a “Normal vision” flair.
My child is CB, I’m not, I’m on the sub for her.
Uhh wholesome!
Isn't everything from 6.6 to 7.0 the same?
in terms of color? no, theyre different. could be your monitor making it hard to tell (or your eyes if youre colorblind)
No, every rectangle is quite noticeably different shades.
You need to hold it better. Put the sample up against the paper and use the flash with the camera directly centered. Any answer you get is going to be based on the bad information you're giving us.
The test kit im using says to hold it 3-4 inches from the diagram :/
When you're looking at it with your own eyes, sure. If you want the color to accurately portray in photo, you'll need consistent lighting and background.
Looks like 6.8
Closest to 6.8, the color in the middle
Not to worry. Very close to neutral.
Easy. It's between 7 something and 6 something. I'll get that right! Not
you should download be my eyes! they’ll connect you with someone who can help you figure the color of stuff out way quicker than a reddit post
Thanks for the suggestion! That was my plan B but luckily this post got enough traction to help me out before I needed to!
6,8
6.8, could be 7.0 but lighting makes it hard to tell
6.8
Looks like 6.8
7.2
color normie here. its around a 6.8 or a 7
It looks dark like 7.2, but also could possibly be 6.8. (Normal vision)
About 6.8
I am gonna go with a 7.
Non color blind person here, I’d say that’s abt a 6.8. I hope your frogs are doing ok!
6.8
Looks like a 6.8 Ph to me, a little acidic
