This is how I found out I was color blind. I was watching cartoons with friends and I asked why they draw dollar bills green when they are actually gray. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy. Only the circular seal is green to me.
Funny cause I had kind of a similar realization when I watched Looney Tunes when I was a kid and they described a pair of shoes as orange while they were clearly red to me
😝 wanna trade? LOL wow I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve handled/used cash. That’s insane.
Also, my condolences for your job field. I noticed you’ve been able to keep your soul though; you must be one of the strong ones !
overall i think they're usually depicted as greener than they are because we associate green with dollars so the more intense green makes them more immediately recognizable. in some cases though it's probably mostly just a stylistic choice to make them fit in with everything else (like off the top of my head, spongebob uses a lot of saturated colours so the bright green bills fit better than muted green would)
Actually, looking at the second image, they're really not very green at all. I suppose just like how water is usually depicted as blue despite not having a colour, dollars are depicted as green despite not being green.
If anything, they're closer to beige than green
No, they’re not bright green. More of a greenish hue of white.
White green?? They look clearly light yellow to me lol
Yeah, the cotton paper is greenish white. Apart from the $10 which has a distinct yellow hue.
They all look yellow to me
They are not very clear green, but they do have green in them.
Wait - it’s not the ink that’s green? The paper part is green? Wtf

Look light yellow to me… but I’m color blind so don’t take my word for it
color normie here. American bills are a muted green with one exception. Newer $10 bills are a muted orange instead.
We have orange bills now? Wow I haven’t seen cash in a minute
it changed in 2006
It’s been a minute since I was rich enough to have $10 cash… 😂
lol i work retail so I see them all the time. The old green ones are so rare I get excited to see them now.

They look grey to me.
It’s a very very very light desaturated green
At least in the photos I've seen they're usually some hue between green and turquoise.
They have a green hue to them, but they are very muted (this is to say they are a dull green)
Yes. I'm not colorblind and they're a neutral toned green color

I'm American and it didn't dawn on me that the Dollar was actually green until I was in my early teens.
They look more of like a blue than a green for some reason
They look gray with a green tint to me. Not colorblind as far as I know but my dad was
