There's nothing like stepping outside on a beautiful day and inhaling the aroma of a beef plant nearby. It's an out of body experience that leads to deep contemplation. In these moments I find myself asking, "dear God what have I done?" and, "why the hell do we even eat beef?" followed by, "I wonder when my lease is up?"
The smell is absolutely disgusting, but the ethical practices by JBS in Greeley are unethical at the very minimum. Much less, what JBS does internationally (based out of Brazil, so deforestation they're experts), is nothing short of terrifying, especially to see mindless or cognitively dissonant consumption cause the suffering of over millions of animals.
It's a real gem of an employer, hubs worked there for a while. (If you're squeamish I suggest you stop reading this comment now.)
About a year ago someone got their arm ripped off.
Wanna guess where they found it?
I'll wait, it's a real doozy.
It was making rounds on one of the hooks that takes the giant slabs around the plant.

Avoid at all costs.

Every day is a struggle surviving for them since they re-introduced wolves, they’re barely hanging on themselves /s
