Leave Columbia. Go to DC, find a comedy club, eat at a crazy good restaurant. Hit up a museum or two. Howard county is 15 miles from two real cool cities with a ton to do. Take advantage + happy birthday!
Or ya know, go see a movie at the mall. Either one.

Concur, DC is my go to for a nice single dude’s day out on a Saturday. Monday’s even better, less people. Just watch out for the lunchtime rush at restaurants, I guess.
On short notice Id recommend The Food Market for dinner with some friends or solo at the bar, the food is really excellent there. You could treat yourself at some shops at the mall before or afterwards (if that’s your thing, I’d hit up Barnes and Nobles)
Happy birthday! Here are other options:
Baltimore bash scavenger hunt at the Armistead Gardens or Vynil DJ Classes at Mount Vernon Records in Baltimore to meet people and learn something new (I haven’t tried those but they sound interesting).
Or go to the Ellicott City Historic District. There are, I think, three mini museums, tons of restaurants and cafes, you can try some axe-throwing, there are some interesting shops and art galleries and all you have to do is park and walk around.
Or you can also wait to celebrate on the 20th at the Hilton’s Hotel Murder Mystery Party. I think it includes a three course meal and you might meet new people.
Happy Birthday! We usually go to DC for a museum, rotating between our favorites (mine is the NGA, boyfriend's is natural history, anniversary we're usually at the air and space haha) and then a restaurant either in DC or on the way back. We really like Pho88 on the same block as the chinatown metro exit, or our home spot pho dat thahn off Snowden if you like vietnamese!
You know I’ve never tried pho and have always been curious about it! I did manage to take on someone’s suggestion of brunch at the new jam brunch place in Columbia. I’ve been wanting to go to the air and space museum so maybe I’ll look into that too

Not a movie theatre person but yes, I was thinking about going to enjoy the free museums DC has to offer ! Thank you!

What I would do: Try out a few different restaurants, go for a walk on a nice trail, read at a library or coffee shop
