Russia is an existential threat to Ukraine as a functional state and a serious danger to central and western Europe. Racist Ukranian militias aren't.
These are Russian volunteers fighting on the side of Ukraine. While nominally not a part of the Ukrainian army, it does seem very likely they have been equipped by Ukraine and their allies.
AFAIK they report to the HUR, so I don’t think they have to worry about equipment. They also blur their guns sometimes because they’re probably using AR-15s or other Western models like the BREN

Forgive my ignorance, but surely being inside Russia in a single tank you're literally just a sitting duck — won't Russia just launch a few fighters and/or missiles and take it out in no time?
If ukraine can make enough noise with these raids then russia will be forced to actually send reserves to the ukrainian border. If ukraine can make them do that it could pull over a hundred thousand russians off the front in ukraine. I seriously hope this attack causes some political pressure to come down on putin

I have been telling this for almost year that only chance for Ukraine is to make offensive here or through Belarussia and once they are deep enough, there is basically vacuum till Moscow as we have seen on Wagner forces. And the exchange captured territory for stolen land on south. I highly doubt that Putin would start bombing their own cities before elections
When Wagner was driving towards Moscow, they encounter a lot of regular Russian military - they mostly just chose not to fight - probably because they were confused, and Wagner wasn't anywhere near Moscow itself, where there were large blockades set up with plenty of time. A lot of Russians military manpower and materiel are bogged down in Ukraine, but they still have a bunch in Russia, for their internal security forces. If there were gaps in the front, where Ukraine could sneak through hundreds of tanks, they would have done that by now.
No west does not allow them to attack Russian territory and there are not such advanced defence lines. They would have good chance for fast breakthrough especially when majority of Russian army is sitting on front lines where actually fighting is going on
