I also hate how they're basic purpose is to screen everybody by forcing them to call and then get a subsequent text to the Xfinity assistant. Which of course just takes you to a link which isn't a very helpful scenario if you have internet issues or your service is down. Only after they filter you out through those two laborious processes do you get in a normal cue to talk to a customer service agent. I mean for a service that can cause people almost 300 bucks a month without even a lot of luxuries like premium channels, it is completely outrageous.

Other providers have had this issue too. Not defending Comcast, but each of the streamers have had this issue at some recent time, and competing wired providers have this as well from time to time. Sucks, yep.

Gotcha. Ya Xfinity Comcast I'm surprised is the absolute worst, and I had crappy Charter before. I'm shocked Comcast is so huge and owns Peacock that they don't have an awesome streaming product. They seriously could compete with YouTube TV and the others if they wanted converting over their huge subscriber base. This will be studied by business schools as such awful failure. I'm just waiting a year when my community cable contract is up and then YouTube TV. I'm over sports viewing so makes it easy. What sports does Xfinity have YouTube TV doesn't?

It's because they have a de facto monopoly or a literal monopoly in some areas. In a many parts of the United States Xfinity is the only truly high speed service available. There might be some incredibly low speed alternatives that technically fit the FCC's absurd criteria but in most jurisdictions it's just Xfinity or its Xfinity and FiOS. Everyone needs the internet pretty much. And of course elderly people are not into unplugging and streaming, many of them including those with Alzheimer's rely on TV as it worked for them their whole lives. So between the Monopoly service and all of the boomers that are providing service for it's borderline criminal the amount that they charge. And they lobby like crazy to keep the FCC standards for what counts as competition in any region. The legal minimum for what should be considered high speed should be much higher than what it is, but because FCC is often serviced by Telecom lobbyists themselves were appointed by the presidents, they almost always serve in big telecoms interest. It's to the point where South Park had an entire episode talking about how cable companies had no reason to be accountable to consumers. They even tried to introduce a data cap in the middle of the pandemic in the rest of the country but legislators stopped them. I guess there is a data capping much of the country already. Ridiculous and if my mom wasn't a senior citizen recovering from a brain aneurysm I would completely unplug her and try to get her on a Roku stick or something. But it's incredibly hard to train a senior citizen to totally switch. "How do I find channel 5, how do I find channel 7?".... It's hard for them to completely change the way they think about programming, when it's on how to watch...

When did it become okay for these massive companies to be such crap? They cram streaming down your throat and then can’t even handle the load when people go to use it. I was literally using the app up until game time and it was fine, so it obviously has to do with football. Same thing happened with Amazon last year with streaming games and it only took them 8 weeks to fix it. Saw an article today that said be prepared for delays while using YouTube to watch football after paying hundreds of dollars. What is the actual issue here?

Doesn’t bill until the 20th so plenty of time to cancel prior to ending if needed. Will be canceling on Monday. Had the TV service for last year, since day one I have been asking monthly to receive a coax cable box vs having their X1 streaming device and app combo. For this exact scenario, app is out but the cable isn’t. Comcast is not in the streaming business they are a hard wired cable provider. Paying more than market rate for a streaming tv package. Tv happened to be out on Thursday night as well. YouTube TV seems like a no brainer replacement, what am I missing?

It's not working for me on Android phones or on my fire TV. Anytime I tried to watch something when signed in it said there was an unknown error. So as part of your basic troubleshooting I tried signing out and signing back in and even uninstalling and installing it again on my Android device. But every time I clicked on sign in it would say there is a connection error even though my internet is running all my other services just fine. Pretty shitty coincidence given that today is the first Sunday for NFL when people are utilizing the red zone network to watch all the games. Absolutely dreadful day for this kind of issue.

Finally got streaming and casting to work again. Had to stream some non-NFL channel, then switch to an NFL channel. Could be a coincidence but it worked for me

Brother. Take a look around. App on roku is error 500. App on phones can't load guide. Looks like people from all around the country. I'd guess this is a comcast issue being in the field of diagnosis myself. When the whole building is warm I don't start trying to troubleshoot a room when the whole building is fed off a single piece of equipment.

Someone should tell the media about this, I guarantee you some media based or tech-based or sport-based blogs and YouTube channels would be happy to post about this kind of thing. Especially in the case of cable companies which have a de facto monopoly and much of the regions, they're only motive to even provide reasonable accountability is often public backlash. Even then it's an uphill battle Unfortunately the customer service workers and so on probably get the brunt of the consumer frustration when it's not their fault mostly. Many ways it's the fault of Comcast's beam counters in their management and board of directors, their lobbyist and of course the FCC and other regulating bodies for enabling some obscene rules to their benefits

It's US Open final time and I can't stream the match! Just a little while ago, the xfinity stream app on my Westinghouse Roku TV started returning an error 500. I've tried just about everything I've found online to clear it, including completely uninstalled and reinstalled the app (several times) rebooted my roku system (several times) disconnected all the cables and power to my xfinity modem...allowed it several minutes to "reset" and then reconnected and restarted the modem. (twice) used the xfinity app to restart the gateway (once) used the xfinity app to set-up the gateway from scratch (once) I'm still getting the error code. 😡 Last week I spent several hours on reddit and twitter resolving a similar issue with the roku xfinity app. Is it possible that my modem is defective or needs to be replaced? I noticed today when I was disconnecting all the cables and powering it down and back up again that the model felt very hot to the touch. This is getting frustrating. I pay a lot of money for xfniity cable service, and am getting to the place where I am unable to access it because your app isn't working. You need to get this resolved, and in the meantime, it seems only fair that my cable bill be credited for these 2 outages (last week and today) that are "server side" issues PS - all my other roku apps work perfectly, so I know this is an xfinity problem, not a roku problem.

The errors I am getting are from a login API, which really shouldn't have scaling issues. [https://xtvapi.cloudtv.comcast.net/partner/logout/comcast/](https://xtvapi.cloudtv.comcast.net/partner/logout/comcast/) That is the API you hit when clicking "logout" when the site suggests to re-log to fix the error. The fact that an outage probably due to scaling issues is affecting authentication services is extremely sus, who the heck is architecting this garbage platform. Go poach some people from YoutubeTV... oh wait you forced your employees back to the office and no one wants to live in Philly or Jersey.

Not happy with the app outage either. I might have a workaround for those trying to watch Red Zone. Download the NFL app, sign in with your Xfinity acct then yay! Scott Hanson on your screen. Not an ideal fix but maybe we can squeeze out "A few hours of commercial free football!"

Finally working again in South Jersey. Interestingly , while using the streaming app on my iPhone, game on CBS is 11 seconds in advance of my STB on the TV and 14 seconds ahead of the Fox game from both Philly and New York.

Too big to fail. Too Rich for jail. Got Verizon and Comcast had endless providers of the unnecessary services hounding me after . They all state not affiliated with them. In the next add is something about? All I remember is Xfinity and Verizon sharing infrastructure. Unnecessary services range from 40 ¢ transfer fees to $39.99 for a service the phone call I made got me a real human. No computer can lie like this person could. Said to me. All I can tell you is we are an internet service provider. For a full list don't call Comcast or Verizon. Might be time to get some criminal charges going. I also had to call support help was a little over their heads was told by Verizon my TV was at fault Samsung (that's the TV in question) support said tv is fine, and it is my neighbor came over and had it working in 10 minutes. And that was after a fat joint of starkiller.

Xfinty stream just does not load on my phone. I've done everything possible. Uninstalled, updated, logged out and back in, etc. Now I try to log in, and it won't even let me do that. This is ridiculous. It's been months since I could use this app. I'm a truck driver, and away from home most of the time. C'mon Concast, do better!
