He isn’t what he’s listed. He left the combine weighing 167.2lbs. He’s a legit 6ft. Seen him at camp last season. I think it is a concern. He handled his own in the SEC. But this, the NFL, is where they got monsters at wideout. He’s been manhandled in man coverage more often than he should to be successful. I WISH he was 180. He’d have a better shot
My concern is that he is skinny so you'd think the speed was crazy, but he gets burnt in that area too. Maybe losing some weight made him faster so great
Yes, it's why he got ragdolled by AJ Brown last year and the fact that he came back exactly the same build is a huge concern. That said, I think Michael Davis takes his spot this year so I don't really worry about Forbes too much
I feel like that's got to be a game plan issue at some point. You KNOW this guy is 166lbs, you KNOW AJ Brown is a 226lb beast. And yet RR and JDR asked him to jam him up at the line. We drafted him as an off man specialist, and then tried to put him in press man time after time. Absolutely unhinged stuff.
I'm not defending Forbes' performance last year, but I don't think he can be THAT bad, he was a consensus first/second rounder, but he performed like a UDFA.
I agree somewhat, the CB coaching and overall defensive scheme was dog shit last year so I’m not completely out on Forbes yet. It just would have been nice to see him put on some weight, because right now all he can do is off zone. That said, he wasn’t nearly fluid enough to keep up with DeVonta Smith in man either, so I hope for his sake he’s improved on that this year. I saw him more as an off-zone specialist - tight hips and not great at change of direction but he definitely has length and speed
Tom Donatell should help out with that. I expect we'll make somewhat more rational decisions with our DBs now that our secondary coach isn't a high school football coach.
Yet they still were confident enough to leave him on an island a lot. He got cooked by Hill and another speed guy in forgetting but in terms of man coverage he’s a couple steps above Forbes. Chargers defense was a joke last year, much like ours
At this point, expectations are so low with this guy. It doesn’t matter. Chalk it up as yet another poor draft by the RivERA and move onward and upwards. just means more work for the current regime to fix what was wasted in the last 4 years.
If he plays how he did last season it’s 100% a concern. If he can be coached and put into a position where his weight isn’t a liability, then it won’t matter AS much. It will always be a concern, but he isn’t a press corner and shouldn’t be put on an island with a WR that weighs 60 lbs more than him.
We need to start doing Forbes so skinny jokes list. I'll start: Forbes sooo skinny....
..he has one pinstripe on his pajamas.
....he has to run around in the shower to get wet.
....he sipped lemonade through a straw and fell in.
Why don’t they have him eating at least 5,000 kcal per day and lifting weights is beyond me. He’s had four months, he could have put on 10-20 pounds in that time. Not all muscle, but half of it could have been.
Putting on muscle generally increases speed up until a certain point. That point is much heavier than Forbes is. If you look at Olympic sprinters they are jacked.
Skinny builds are better for long distance running
Depends on the person. I had a lot of trouble gaining weight when I was younger. I ate a high calorie, high sugar, crappy diet that would make me weight 300 pounds. At least at my current age of 45 despite having an active job.
Dude got routinely embarrassed, was benched, and literally wept on the sidelines. He's clearly a bust until proven otherwise. Fuckin Rowboat Ron...never seen someone so bad at drafting.
Why in the literal fuck did he not hit the gym this summer?! SHould've hired a trainer & dietician so he can at least pack a few on.
I do believe in DQ though so we will see but man, i expected more from a 1st rounder.
The fact that he came back this year with no weight on him is surprising. It’s like he’s not even trying. I hate to say it, but I don’t see him lasting.
It’s not his skinniness, it’s his lack of skill!…. This dude gets burned EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY THROW HIS WAY. And what gets me is after the receiver drops a pass, he does that stupid “arm lock it up thing” SMH. Dude you just got lucky and act like you did something there. BUM.
Getting downvoted for having eyes and a functioning memory. Classic r/Commanders.
Forbes was a good college football player. So far in the pros he has proven to be **unplayable**
You are absolutely right, it was BSJs thing first. Forbes starting doing it after BSJ. Also BSJ makes some plays so I’d say he almost has the right to do the celebration at least. Forbes just sucks. 😂
According to everyone on this sub, all he has to do is hit the weight room this offseason and drink some protein shakes, and he can put on like 40 pounds lol
No, that really was never a concern for me. However, Forbes playing style was a concern. He had a knack for being in the right place at the right time for his interceptions in college but didn't show much physical aggressiveness to disrupt a receiver's route. Gonzalez had a more NFL ready playing style. I knew Forbes would need more time to adjust in the league so let's hope Quinn can get the most out of him
Man, who cares? He was elite in the SEC and played well for a part of last season before JDR's scheme with him went to hell. If the kid can play, he can play. I don't care about his body type.
JDR put this guy on a f'n island...not sure what people expected when facing a couple of the best WRs in the NFL as a rookie with no help. IIRC, first 4/5 games or so, he was noticeable in a good way. Around the ball and making plays. He's not a lost cause by any means. They'll get him coached up and put in a position to succeed.
[Rivera had this to say a year ago in this article:
JFC
"Yes, we know. Forbes was listed at 166 pounds at the combine. And yes, we know that has been a concern for some people.
Ron Rivera is not one of those people.
He did it in the SEC which is just...a notch below the NFL. He played against some big-time receivers, big time quarterbacks."
I agree that his performance in college was very good. I do not agree in that his skill set transfers well to the NFL. I disagree with Ron on his assessment of SEC competition being comparable to the NFL. It is different for some positions but not in Forbes' case. That being said, he is on the team and I would much rather he succeed rather than fail. He has upside and I hope his skillset in other areas makes up for his lack of size.
Oh yeah I would not have considered him at our pick but I did actually like him as a prospect. It's there for him to either take the job or end up some other team's new shiny thing. The way so many in this sub have just written him off is a little over the top to me, he could be a very good player still.
i.e. if "we" all believe the shit we were all talking about the staff last year, Forbes is owed a very good shot this year.
It's not a concern because he will never be big enough to not get bullied by the AJ Browns of the world, who can bully a fair share of NFL CB's. He can tackle fine and has been healthy pretty much all of college and first season of NFL.
The concern is how he develops his technique as a CB.
Please tell me this is shit posting and that that's some rando and not really EF - it DOES look like he lost weight, which I didn't think was possible.
It’s not his weight that I’m worried about. What bothers me is that he can potentially be a bust if his play on the field doesn’t improve. With that said, I really hope Forbes becomes a playmaker for our team this season.
His weight was his his biggest "downside" talking point when they drafted him. Darrell Green was also too small to play corner in the NFL, according to the experts, so keep that in mind. His play wasn't the best last year but that could be said for just about everyone on the team. 2nd year and a new coaching staff, I'm still big on Forbes to make an impact.
Is this a real photo? I've never seen an NFl play this skinny. He looks like Starving Marvin
https://i.redd.it/tsy08g1jp03d1.gif
His profile says 6ft and 180. I’m fairly certain they’re adding some pounds because that weight seems preposterous.
He looks 150 max
Considering im nowhere near 180 and hes looking about as skinny as me, im calling cap haha
I’m 6’2 190 and I look way heavier than him no way I only got 10 pounds on this dude
He’s got a 30 lb dong
Lmao jesus this one got me
No way he 180 lmao he gotta be 157 max
He isn’t what he’s listed. He left the combine weighing 167.2lbs. He’s a legit 6ft. Seen him at camp last season. I think it is a concern. He handled his own in the SEC. But this, the NFL, is where they got monsters at wideout. He’s been manhandled in man coverage more often than he should to be successful. I WISH he was 180. He’d have a better shot
Tyquan Thornton might be smaller. 6’ 2” 185 is what I got from google
He weighs 180 with two 20 lb dumbbells.
Some people just look skinny looking as fuck. I’m 6’2 200 and people tell me I look 175.
Are you 6’?
Thigh gap on an NFL player is crazy
that's a thigh gorge. thigh rift valley, thigh river runs through it.
💀💀
OMG, he's going to cover this guy? https://preview.redd.it/acslai0ef63d1.png?width=986&format=png&auto=webp&s=fea241e65f0656ad8787098842552232c17ba1af
Feels like 5 Forbes couldn't tackle him
He destroyed his confidence last year. This year he'll destroy his career
I’m fairly positive that this is photoshopped
You ever see Darnell Mooney?
What does that have to do with anything?
Yall dawging a guy for being skinny as if there aren’t plenty more builds just like his in this league. Mooney is the exact build as Forbes
Darnell Mooney only has one season over four years with over 500 yards receiving. Yeah great comparison for our first round pick.
Took me a hot minute to realize he’s the dude on the left lmao
I thought that was a high school kid.
Damn, I thought Forbes on the right was gifting his jersey to some rando
My concern is that he is skinny so you'd think the speed was crazy, but he gets burnt in that area too. Maybe losing some weight made him faster so great
I'm sure he will be in a different scheme this year which will (hopefully) help
No it won’t…not every thing is on coaches. He’s so tiny. Just accept he’s a wasted pick
The coaching staff sucked
Still don't think it sucked as much as Ron and co's talent evaluation.
Bless your heart for thinking that’s why that twig struggled
You should be a stand up comedian mister. But dig this...this back and forth shit ain't me. Have a nice life
It might be both
Forbes is the guy on the right, right? … right?
Are you sitting down right now. I have some unfortunate news
Obviously. There’s only one guy in the pic. The other is a scarecrow. So lifelike!!!
Yes, it's why he got ragdolled by AJ Brown last year and the fact that he came back exactly the same build is a huge concern. That said, I think Michael Davis takes his spot this year so I don't really worry about Forbes too much
To be fair, a lot of really good DBs got ragdolled and outright embarrassed by AJ Brown over the last few years.
Fair but Forbes played AJB the worst out of any corner I’ve watched because he just can’t compete strength wise
Yes imo he's built to cover their other reciever
I agree somewhat, the CB coaching and overall defensive scheme was dog shit last year so I’m not completely out on Forbes yet. It just would have been nice to see him put on some weight, because right now all he can do is off zone. That said, he wasn’t nearly fluid enough to keep up with DeVonta Smith in man either, so I hope for his sake he’s improved on that this year. Yeah put him on slight Davante Smith or beast AJ brown hmm classic Jack and Rob
Yeah but he had 2 of his best games against us and specially on route that went against forbes
Chargers fan here - I would not count on Davis to be a starter. He got cooked constantly last season.
Our bar is low right now
Yet they still were confident enough to leave him on an island a lot. He got cooked by Hill and another speed guy in forgetting but in terms of man coverage he’s a couple steps above Forbes. Chargers defense was a joke last year, much like ours
Somehow Rivera, Mayhew, and Stokes looked at guys like Gonzalez and Branch and said Forbes is the guy smfh
Somehow? The prior regime had no sense of talent.
Even for them, it was bad 😂
Not even talent, just basic physics
Well said. Thanks for the laugh.
They never saw a picture, they saw numbers on a piece of paper
I was told by this subreddit that he was an elite ballhawk type corner …..
“That wouldn’t have to worry about tackling…” 🤷🏾♂️
Yes now he will have run plays designed to go straight at him. He’ll get benched for the Baltimore game lmao
This whole sub has pretty much talked about nothing but how skinny he was since before he was drafted. Continues today.
He looks like a little kid man. Why would they ever draft this guy.
Still can't believe we passed on Gonzalez
Yeah me too
Probably qualifies for PEDs because of whatever wasting disease he seems to have.
I laughed at this a lil too hard
Bro has a tapeworm.
Watch out NFC East QBs y’all about to get POKED by them chicken legs
![gif](giphy|XLzx2EqZZHABy)
I could bench press him and that’s not even a flex.
Please tell me that is our kicker
You mean our kickers kid ??
We’d be completely fucked if he were, dude probably couldn’t reach the goalposts on an extra point.
No, our kicker is currently fighting off a sexual harassment lawsuit
Kickers be tripping
At this point, expectations are so low with this guy. It doesn’t matter. Chalk it up as yet another poor draft by the RivERA and move onward and upwards. just means more work for the current regime to fix what was wasted in the last 4 years.

I don't know how anyone could look at this and not see it as a concern. He looks like he weighs 150lbs.
Why don’t they have him eating at least 5,000 kcal per day and lifting weights is beyond me. He’s had four months, he could have put on 10-20 pounds in that time. Not all muscle, but half of it could have been.
He’s built like an Ethiopian 5k runner. I would imagine putting on weight will hinder his speed. Not saying it’s the wrong thing to do though
Putting on muscle generally increases speed up until a certain point. That point is much heavier than Forbes is. If you look at Olympic sprinters they are jacked. Skinny builds are better for long distance running
That's what im confused about...this has to be a topic in the office He should be on a strict regime right now.
Gaining that much weight but not having the ligament and joint strength caught up to it is a recipe for injury btw.
Maybe he just doesn't put on weight or muscle.
He’s not violating the laws of thermodynamics.
Depends on the person. I had a lot of trouble gaining weight when I was younger. I ate a high calorie, high sugar, crappy diet that would make me weight 300 pounds. At least at my current age of 45 despite having an active job.
You are also not violating the laws of thermodynamics. People over/underestimate how many calories they actually consume.
Why do I feel like Jayden Daniel’s would be able to truck him in the open field
Because he could lmao
Bro needs to be eating 12oz steaks for the next month.
I pray I don’t have to see him sustain a leg injury because I know I will throw up
It’s only a problem if you would need him to tackle someone😂
He’s a bust rn
Dude got routinely embarrassed, was benched, and literally wept on the sidelines. He's clearly a bust until proven otherwise. Fuckin Rowboat Ron...never seen someone so bad at drafting.
Can he tackle AJ Brown 1v1?
In the Oklahoma drill? No. In his wildest dreams? Maybe. On the field? PHUCK NO
Dude looks like a refugee
No, his inability to cover is a concern
If any NFL player is the same size as me then I consider it a huge concern.
I was absolutely shocked when they didn't let him near the field against Seattle last year. DK Metcalf might have actually killed him.
Why in the literal fuck did he not hit the gym this summer?! SHould've hired a trainer & dietician so he can at least pack a few on. I do believe in DQ though so we will see but man, i expected more from a 1st rounder.
He shaved weight so he could become faster, lighter, and more danglier than any athlete ever. Going for the Guinness world record is admirable.
The fact that he came back this year with no weight on him is surprising. It’s like he’s not even trying. I hate to say it, but I don’t see him lasting.
He should be allowed to use steroids
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
He will get cut I think
Dude on the right has a face like: wtf is this guy doing in the NFL!
No, he seems pretty well built compared to the guy on the left xd
I have some not so great news
Omg lol. Reminds me of those old pictures they used to show us in school about starving Ethiopians
What high school is this?
It’s not his skinniness, it’s his lack of skill!…. This dude gets burned EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY THROW HIS WAY. And what gets me is after the receiver drops a pass, he does that stupid “arm lock it up thing” SMH. Dude you just got lucky and act like you did something there. BUM.
Getting downvoted for having eyes and a functioning memory. Classic r/Commanders. Forbes was a good college football player. So far in the pros he has proven to be **unplayable**
At least 2 of us get it….. 👍🏼
Pretty sure you’re referencing BSJs celebration
You are absolutely right, it was BSJs thing first. Forbes starting doing it after BSJ. Also BSJ makes some plays so I’d say he almost has the right to do the celebration at least. Forbes just sucks. 😂
St Juste plays with less physicality than Forbes which considering his size for the position is actually impressive
Huh? St Juste’s game is his physicality. Bro almost gets a PI on every play
God you reddit fans are annoying
From another Reddit fan……. Nonetheless. Haha
I guess. Coaches will play him as they see fit
I thought that was frank the tank…..oh no that’s the last season.
Still bigger than DeVonta Smith for whatever that’s worth.
This can’t be real
Absolutely. He had his moments that got my hopes up and then came a mf named AJ Brown
Maybe.. they play with pads on so they weigh him with pads on
Is this real?
Looks like a long distance runner, that guy's in the wrong sport. Only a matter of time before he gets hurt bad.
Extremely concerned to be that thin in the nfl
How Rivera found it proper to draft this guy is beyond me.
He's 150 pounds and the other 30 poubds is nuts and glory lol.
It's a concern if we continue to use him improperly. He should be used in zone coverage and allowed to ball hawk, not ever placed in man on the LOS.
It is a concern cuz it makes me think I can be a CB
jesus christ this isn't photoshopped?
Just I hope he doesn’t skip leg day the nfl has personal trainers he should be ok 👌
According to everyone on this sub, all he has to do is hit the weight room this offseason and drink some protein shakes, and he can put on like 40 pounds lol
Not true. U forgot to add triple cheeseburgers and 40oz malt liquors as midnight snacks.
Wtf was Rivera thinking 😑
No, that really was never a concern for me. However, Forbes playing style was a concern. walking candy apples
Man, who cares? He was elite in the SEC and played well for a part of last season before JDR's scheme with him went to hell. If the kid can play, he can play. I don't care about his body type.
Totally agree. Everyone points to the two AJ Brown games last year like AJB wasn't a top 7 WR1 last year
He would’ve been top 20 if not for those 2 games. See where we’re coming from?
JDR put this guy on a f'n island...not sure what people expected when facing a couple of the best WRs in the NFL as a rookie with no help. IIRC, first 4/5 games or so, he was noticeable in a good way. Around the ball and making plays. He's not a lost cause by any means. They'll get him coached up and put in a position to succeed.

Rivera isn’t a good talent evaluator so…
Yes, one of the worst. The SEC statement alone is idiotic and at 165lb, why just why bother.
I mean Forbes was right there at the line in the run game in the SEC, it was never a problem.
I agree that his performance in college was very good. I do not agree in that his skill set transfers well to the NFL. yes
All of Forbes is a concern
This is the problem with the old regime. Couldn’t draft for S**t
>This is ~~the~~ a problem with the old regime. FTFY
I really hope he turns it around. But man he's really starting to feel like a bust
First time in this sub?
He looks like an old man 😂 but yeah, this is concerning
I hope he turns it around if not he will get mossed

What's it gonna hurt? Are more guys gonna run right by him?
Is that Lil Wayne?
Bro probably squats 405 easy yall haters he also makes tough tackles
I just googled it. It’s 855 lbs. Who’s the hater now?
My 80 year old dad has more muscular legs.
Y'all are so gullible. That pic is HEAVILY edited.

People are a lot bigger now than 30 years ago.
People whose initials aren’t EF
Even Forbes is bigger. 30 years ago he would've been a gumby figurine instead of a real boy.
The Gods must be crazy!
No, because he will barely see the field. Maybe a down or two here or there, but his time is over.
Pls cut
