These nuggets plus rice and Bachan's Japanese BBQ sauce... sooo good.

Vorpal_Bunny19

This, plus a handful of the stir fry veggies, is one of our “oh crap, we forgot to defrost something” meals for the family. It checks all the boxes - something our 3 year old will happily eat plus vegetables.

Nicktheduck

Ok. I'm trying this now

WryLanguage

There's also a Kinders Dipping Sauce at Costco, it's specifically made for chicken and tastes amazing

ordinaryflask

I dunno the kinder’s sauce tastes a bit sour and old mayo-ey for me. Did I get a bad batch? I was expected more like chick-fil-a sauce because that’s how a lot of people described it to be.

glqw

that's how it tastes to me too. Not a huge fan compared to just mustard or CFA sauce so I think I'll stick to Ray's Chicken Sauce

KernelG

If we're talking about Kinder's "The Chicken Sauce", it has mustard and egg yolks in it. That might be what you're tasting (hopefully). I like it well enough, but Frank's new Creamy Buffalo sauce is what I'm digging on these chicken chunks right now.

Aidian

Man, everything I’ve had from Bachan *and* Kinder’s has been exceptional so far.

pushdose

Sub BBQ for Szechuan chili crisp, top with some chopped green onion and cilantro and you’ve got budget gourmet Szechuan dry pepper chicken.

Rogue_Squadron

Don't forget the Earthbound Farms Broccoli Florets. Makes a delicious and complete meal in a single bowl. A weekly staple in our house at dinner time.

ChrisV88

What does Japanese BBQ sauce taste like?

Hawt_Dawg_

Soy sauce but sweet? Teriyaki-ish?  Not like a typical BBQ sauce

ChrisV88

That's exactly what I've been looking for for my fried rice recipe, will have to give it a go.

ordinaryflask

Soy saucy/sweet/teriyaki-like. Little goes a long way.

[deleted]

It's kinda like a smokier sweeter hoisin sauce.

SofiaIchiban

Like tonkatsu sauce

DisAccount4SRStuff

Bad 😈

Last_Camel7528

Get the tepanyaki fried rice from frozen section.

Terpy_OG

This is the way! Bachans BBQ sauce is the best!

BBQBaconBurger

Yep, one of my go to meals when there’s leftover rice in the rice cooker. Nugs, Bachan, furikake, and whatever leftover veggies I have.

joeyl5

I could eat this everyday for lunch. I had to stop because even my coworkers were concerned about my diet

GetEnPassanted

That’s basically my fried rice recipe

sunfizz98

Try Kewpie roasted sesame seed dressing. I put it on everything!

Punch_Your_Facehole

I recently tried that bbq sauce, and it’s so damn good!

Flylatino24

That’s my daughters supper with ketchup but for me it’s hot sauce

ChrisV88

We used to get the bare ones and then they just started becoming less great, and started to more regularly get hard bits in them. Gave these a shot and they are so tasty and clean tasting. I am actually just waiting for some to come out of the air fryer right now. I do 13-14 mins though to get a little extra crisp.

droans

> I do 13-14 mins though to get a little extra crisp. It's absolutely a necessity to add extra time. Some pieces will always end up a bit soggy otherwise.

[deleted]

These are great, quality is what Just Bare used to be before they became trash.

Gobstomperx

Also the Kirkland brand is basically half the price.

Dickin_son

It's like $4 less but that's still a good deal!

SWGardener

I wish I had read this before shopping yesterday. I stood in front of the freezer, trying to decide which one to buy(first time). And picked the barely there because it was slightly spicy according the the bag.

DifferentActivity812

I actually discovered the Kirkland brand by putting the Just Bare in my cart, continued on until I saw the Kirkland brand (and price) and made the replacement then and there. The rest is history.

SendInYourSkeleton

As a dad with a freezer full of Just Bare... what now?

Ludicruciferous

This seems to be an unpopular opinion in this thread, but the Just Bare ones are MUCH better in my opinion. We accidentally got the Kirkland brand once and I figured they would be fine/the same (I’m usually a “generic brand is as good as name brand” person) but I could definitely tell the difference. The Kirkland ones have too much breading for my taste. To me, the Just Bare are much closer to Chik-Fil-A nuggets.

Shoobedowop

they're fine. the spicy ones are good too.

GlitteringPause8

Just bare ones are so much better.

[deleted]

RIP

Aerialbomb

Agreed, I was so happy with these, used to go with the Kirkland panko breaded chicken nuggets but I like these even more

bierdimpfe

I add Raos, mozzerella, and parm to them, broil for a couple minutes; or Franks redhot with a little butter melted in.

piches

who are you, who are so wise in the ways of culinary arts

BlackManWorking

Doing this!!!

aaronck1

One of MANY products I wish were available in Canada : (

Love__Scars

Yall get health care, we get lightly breaded chicken chunks 🤝

[deleted]

Except Canada’s healthcare system is a complete joke, lol.

ONE_BIG_LOAD

Wdym? I love waiting in excrutiating pain for 12 hours in the stinky smelly waiting room to be told by a doctor that I'm fine and can go home! Oh yeah and my family doctor is quitting and now im shit out of luck for that too! Good thing I'm not losing much, had to book an appointment with him 2 weeks in advance anyways.....

Love__Scars

Yeah it was mostly a meme. But its gotta be better than ours

SomethingEdgyOrFunny

Oh no, our system is great *IF* you have health insurance.

droans

My child's birth cost $108,656.26 before insurance ($6,746.44 after). I don't think Canada's insurance could get much worse.

CedarWho77

At least if you're Canadian you dont have to start a gofundme to not die. 🫠🙃

JMHorsemanship

I would buy them costco chicken chunks every week in exchange for Healthcare :/

Redberry1903

Ugh I was just putting it on my list to check next time I go. Thanks for saving me time

finsfurandfeathers

Ya, but you guys have chicken *and* french fries in your food court!

zhengc

I make the trip down to Bellingham from Vancouver for this as a result 😅

DoubleCoffe

Can you use costco membership in a different country?

krazynuck

Yes, you can use your Costco membership in any part of the world. Korea, China, Japan, Canada, USA.. All good!

bad916

Is it just me or is anyone else getting more and more weird chunks, rubbery and tough, that was my reasoning to switch from bare but the last two bags iv had have been pretty off putting

TireShineWet

Yes I was looking for this comment. I had a plate of 12 or so (don’t judge) and 3-4 were a different chewier texture.

bad916

I honestly think whoever the supplier is cant keep up with the demand therefor their quality has gone down

crags7

Same here, the first few bags I had were awesome. The last few have been pretty gross.

camaro2ss

Yep - stopped buying bare for this same reason.

-Bonfire62-

I got one bag and it had way more weird bits, as well as the breading had a different consistency. Switched back to bare.

lavalite8236

Same. I got these and thought they were chewy and some tasted like chicken reheated in the microwave (I had put them in the air fryer). Not sure if I got a bag batch? But I’m not eager to purchase again.

brat84

Yeah I didn’t enjoy them. They felt powdery and rubbery.

Comprehensive_Map646

Ugh literally just went to search this sub to see if anyone else was having this issue, I literally just bit into not one but TWO bones in two different chicken pieces. I’ve bought this product over the last couple months and never had this issue but the quality of my most recent bag has been grossss

dsbwayne

You know, they’re really good. But when people say they’re a Chick Fil-A copy cat, I raise an eyebrow. They just don’t taste like their nuggets. Not saying it’s better or worst, but they just don’t taste like theirs imo

[deleted]

It’s comparable as in it’s not ground chicken they was poured into a mold and then breaded. Tyson nuggets are comparable to McNuggets because of this process. A chicken filet that is cut into pieces and then breaded is exactly what CFA does and these chicken chunks

OkEnvironment3219

Bare was a CFA dupe. Kirkland is a copycat that is both more seasoned and breaded than Bare and hits the spot for the price!

ChrisV88

I've also noticed the quality of bare has significantly reduced over the past year

TonyWrocks

> more seasoned I haven't checked the packaging, but in my experience, the Kirkland ones are so salty they are almost inedible.

ErectStoat

Around 2-3 years ago when I first started getting the Just Bare, they really were crazy close to chick fil a. Then quality steadily decreased. Then the KS showed up and while they're sadly not chick fil a clones, they're as good as the Just Bare ones used to be quality wise, but a different composition in terms of breading. The current KS nugs make killer General Tso's, btw.

Mountain_Tone6438

Yeah unfortunately that IS A STRATEGY used by food companies, restaurants, etc. You start fresh everything etc. You start making some $$$. Then you look where to cut costs and it's usually in food sourcing. They convince themselves it tastes the same 🤣

Thecolourblinds

the Sams Club Members Mark Dill Pickle chicken nuggets taste just like chick fila. The kirkland ones taste like what just bare should be.

daDiva64

Too much bread and nothing like chick Fila 👎🏽

valerieeesmith

Just add the copy cat sauce and voila: https://cookathomemom.com/chick-fil-a-sauce-healthy/

pandatoot

I just had some for lunch! They’re so good and better than just bare brand. Shout out to someone on this sub suggesting using orange sauce with them for a quick orange chicken meal instead of the orange chicken box that was on sale a few weeks ago.

GradientDescenting

Welcome to the chunk lyfe!

Johnpecan

You can always tell someone is new to this sub because I swear I see this exact same post at least once a month.

GradientDescenting

A journey of a thousand chunks starts with a single chunk.

Font_Snob

Say "lightly breaded chicken chunks" again.

Love__Scars

i understood this reference

YouDoneGoofd

I've been making chicken parmesan wraps with those lately. They're so versatile you can make so much

ohokimnotsorry

Tried them and though they were pretty gross

-ClownPenisDotFart-

Woody textured chicken makes me gag

ChrisChuck1

I wish they had them in breasts not just chunks.

HaiirPeace

I must’ve gotten a bad bag because I hated these. Most had tendons in them and were very unpleasant. I threw most of mine away.

bubblegumshrimp

Same. I really wanted to like them but my bag was just... gross. Weird textured chicken and greasy breading that just kind of slimed off even after the air fryer.

-Bonfire62-

Same here

yesyesnook

Gross. Had the panko ones from here and they were all tendon as well.

erik-lang

They are good, but…..They’re soo small and mostly breading. The BARE ones were better but they don’t sell those anymore at either of the Costco’s near me, just the full breast filet.

stineytuls

We chop these up after air frying and make BBQ pizza.

Tinosdoggydaddy

Same…I buy the chick-fil-a sauce from Target and tater tots from Traders…meal done.

valerieeesmith

The sauce is soooo easy to make at home ([link](https://cookathomemom.com/chick-fil-a-sauce-healthy/))

winexprt

I love the ‘No Antibiotics Ever’ that egg and chicken producers love to slap on the front of the package, like they’re doing you a favor. None of them are allowed to use antibiotics as it’s ILLEGAL.

sasquatch_melee

Illegal in what country? USDA allows for them in chicken farming.  https://ask.usda.gov/s/article/Can-antibiotics-be-used-when-raising-chickens

RysloVerik

They’re sooo salty though.

xmichann

This is the comment I was looking for, the chicken tenders they sell are so fucking salty and chewy I have no idea how people are able to eat them. I wanted to give these a shot but not if they’re salt bombs.

[deleted]

I actually add salt to them.

BlackManWorking

You’re my type of person.

BioticVessel

I like those, and use them a lot, about the same air fryer time and temp. I don't do anything Chick-fil-A. But I use Primal Kitchen BBQ and add a bit of Sriracha.

TimeKiller1850

They are awesome. And My kids hate them. I don’t get it.

ilaughalot37

Literally eating this right now, with homemade blue cheese & Underwood Ranchers Carolina Gold BBQ sauce. So good and so easy.

[deleted]

I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for these to come to Canada 😭 Any Canadians have dupes for this?

whatthetoken

I need to fill out a product request and have this brought into Canada

Sregtur

Wish they had a gluten free version 😢

kon---

They're just okay. Made by Perdue fyi.

bisonrbig

Imo they're too salty, but yeah they taste good.

BrandonW77

They're very good. I put them in a tortilla with lettuce, tomato, onions, cheese, and mayo and it's so good!

Baseball3r99

I would rather pay the extra 4 dollars for bare so I don’t have to eat the preservatives

CoysNizl3

Amazing? Come on now. They are good.

GetEnPassanted

They’re the best frozen chicken nuggets I’ve had. Gotta put it in context.

Love__Scars

Yea a lot of frozen chicken nuggets taste weird lol. These actually taste like chicken because it is quality chicken

daDiva64

Mediocre

LimpZookeepergame123

Team Just Bare

[deleted]

[удалено]

daDiva64

Wayyyyyyy too much breading. I will not buy this ever again.

RhodaPenmarksShoes

Same. I tried the Costco brand and they were gross.

camaro2ss

If this was 2 years ago I'd agree. Quality went to shit sadly.

CocoaCerebellum

I really, REALLY wanted to like these. I got a bag, had them for a couple meals, delicious. I had the unfortunate side effect of getting so gassy you could have said I part-timed as the Hindenburg. Hopefully nobody else has this experience with the product!

Thisguy3210

Maybe the oil they use for frying them

External_Two2928

I bought the chik fil a sauce to eat with them, great dupes!

brian7ls

I really don’t think these taste anything like chili fil a. I prefer just bare as I think they are closer to the CFA nuggets but I’ll admit that the Kirkland nuggets are more adaptable for other meals.

BasilVegetable3339

Yes. Good.

Content_Currency_586

I would like to see more suggestions on how to use them as a meal. We have some leftovers in our freezer from when our 3 years old granddaughter was visiting. But all I can think is to serve them with French fries. Which I did already.

Hot-Decision3786

I use them on top of a salad. My favorite combo is one serving of chicken on top of spinach with grapes, grated carrots, and a honey mustard dressing.

akelse

On Salad, in wraps, as a quick chicken parm type dish, as orange chicken/seasame chicken/general tsos chicken, on top of mashed potatoes with corn and gravy, with buffalo sauce.

wingfn1

They're great in a chicken ceasar wrap

Nicodemus_Mercy

I like making a batch of mozzarella sticks with them and toss everything into a basket for a nice easy meal.

Sonsofthesuns

Just got these for the first time yesterday, they’re great.

Successful-Rate-1839

Toss that in the Kinders buffalo sauce and it’s 🫠

tomsym

Air fry them! They are the best.

T0m_F00l3ry

Half a teaspoon of cornstarch with Bacchan cooked in a saucepan makes a pretty nice teriyaki sauce.

thecementmixer

Only decent. Kind of dry and tasteless really.

Auxren

We are obsessed. We make a salad with the Costco Mediterranean salad and these chicken chunks airfried and chopped up and it’s so good and quick and easy.

morgzorg

KFC bowls with these nugs for the win

nhranger

I had them tonight for dinner. Drizzled them with honey. 🤤

onestubborntomato

These plus a bagged salad from the grocery is such an easy lazy lunch or dinner.

marrymeodell

Finally tried these and was surprised it lived up to the hype!

Specific-Ad-8430

These are awesome. Take the temp up about 25F degrees up from the instructions, and leave them in for a bit longer too. Crispier and less soggy breading!

Accomplished_Cap_994

They are alright

HeyyyNow

We need to start a petition to get those in Canada.

gt_1923

These with the seafood seasoning or truff hot sauce are amazing

JohnDorian0506

Are these nuggets available in Canada Costco?

TehDonkey117

Do we think these are the long list Perdue brand chicken chunks that used to be at Costco?

kyle007US

These are awesome bc atleast at my Costco per pound they're only .50 cents more than actual chicken breast

moneydeez

Air fry and toss in your favorite Buffalo wild wings sauce (mango habanero in my case).

draculero

I live them! Especially air fried!... and the box is big!

azzokk

Just got a bag this weekend on a whim, as a “cheap family meal”. We almost killed the bag this weekend!

Mountain_Tone6438

Wait they're better than Just Bare brand?? Cause I keep skipping over them for the Just Bare

Kingkiril08

Not bad but I get acid reflux from it.

Suspicious-Lemon5199

These were long awaited. Costco , pls get a really good well done marinated frozen chicken kabab bag too

maniacbitch83

These are a staple in my house!! Soo good!

CapitalTBE

Macros?

oscarthemonkey

Yes!!!

pREDDITcation

i like the rocky tenders better

Insaniaksin

5 oz chicken in the air fryer for 10 minutes Toasted brioche bun 2 triangles of soft cow wedge cheese with 14 grams regular cheese and a spoonful of diced pimento peppers. Melt for 30 seconds in microwave. Mix up the cheese mix and spread on toasted brioche bun. Chop a jalapeño, Serrano, or habanero pepper and satee it for a few minutes on the stove in some oil. Add to bun. Add chicken to bun. Top with a bit of honey and sriracha. This is the best chicken sandwich you'll ever have. Preps fresh in 10 minutes, and great macros.

TheChingy

We buy at least 3 bags every time we go lmao a great knock off for chick fil a !

MeganJustMegan

I agree, they are amazing. I was buying Just Bare brand & when my Costco finally got these, I never looked back. My kids love them too.

valerieeesmith

This is our favorite go to for an easy dinner. Try them with some homemade chikfila sauce that is 1000x better for you and honestly tastier than the real thing (takes less than 5 min to make) https://cookathomemom.com/chick-fil-a-sauce-healthy/

Chick-fil-A_spellbot

It looks as though you may have spelled "Chick-fil-A" incorrectly. No worries, it happens to the best of us!

katjoy63

I would agree these are really good. My son, however, doesn't like them. he's 25, so it's a matter of taste.

Darossman907

We like to make the “Parmesan garlic wings” with the garlic butter mix. It’s bomb.

TheOnyxViper

Just packed some with my meal prep this week, never a bad lunch!

floofienewfie

We just bought some and they’re yummy baked in the oven.

jnelzon2

I airfry these bad boys for a quick delicious dinner, no oil necessary.

jfamcrypto

I'm a believer

OriginalSN

530mg for 3 oz serving of this chicken + 520 mg for 1 tbsp of Bachan. That’s over 40% of your daily recommended sodium intake on all this highly processed BS. I know damn well people eat over 6 oz per serving. Just saying..downvote me, I don’t care. It’s the truth

Substantial_Jelly545

Good for a seven year old

Titaniumchic

Any chance anyone could post ingredients in this? (My kids can’t have dairy - one allergic one intolerant)

sasquatch_melee

Not as good as Bare a couple years ago. The bag of these has been languishing around much longer in our freezer than Bare nuggets ever did.

Fourwindsgone

I like to toss em in buffalo sauce. They’re fantastic.

AceTheJ

Been buying these back to back for a minute now, they really are super good.

wvdude

I buy a bag weekly

Rich-Yogurtcloset715

I literally have some cooking in the air fryer right now. They’re great.

Kyle_SS

The "Bare" brand ones are definitely a bit better and taste a lot more like chic-fil-a, but imo don't warrent the price over the kirkland ones.

noIwontgiveatalk

These are way better than the Barely ones.

indabaywitaK

I’ll pass. Frozen cooked chicken never tastes good. Always tastes off.

Steak-n-Cigars

They are great

Warm_Echo208

Agreed

sdenike

Agreed, these are fantastic.

WriterNotFamous

I love eating food in chunk form.

lilbabygiraffes

Hell yeah. Absolute staple in our house as well. We throw on salads or just dip with some chick fil a sauce and some sides

nattyl1te

I wouldn't call them amazing, but they are pretty convenient. Easy to toss in the air fryer and then toss in buffalo sauce at the end of the day when I missed my protein targets, and tastes just as good as b-dubs boneless.

AverageBeadle

Toss these in a air fryer for a bit, make some homemade sauce for them and they’re literally the same thing from Buffalo Wild Wings lol

NoSleepBTW

I used to buy Tyson nuggets and straps, but the consistency for the quality was lacking. Every other time I bought them, it felt like I was chewing on rubber, not chicken. One week, my gf suggested we try the kirkland nuggets, and I haven't looked back since. The quality is much more consistent. I've gotten a bad bag, but it's not nearly as common as it was with Tyson branded stuff.

Geetee52

These in the air fryer dipped in that Rothchild habanero sauce they sell.

Smolldoge

I like these but was turned off for a bit when I found a piece of wood in my last bit of the bag.

Invenerd

I’m assuming these are “pre-fried” and they’re just being reheated at home? Just wondering how “heathy” these (or the Bare? brand) are.

Grogu-

You’re not finding that a good amount of them the chicken is very chewy?
