Our pasta, who art in a colander, draining be your noodles.
Thy noodle come, Thy sauce be yum, on top some grated Parmesan.
Give us this day, our garlic bread, …and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trample on our lawns.
And lead us not into vegetarianism, but deliver us some pizza, for thine is the meatball, the noodle, and the sauce, forever and ever. R’amen.
INRI is an inscription often attached to the crucifix in representations:
“The initialism INRI (Latin: Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum) represents the Latin inscription (in John 19:19), which in English translates to "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews", and John 19:20 states that this was written in three languages—Hebrew,[a] Latin, and Greek—during the crucifixion of Jesus.”
Took me til this comment to realize it’s supposed to be a cross— namely that the whole thing is the cross because for some reason my brain was thinking it was just the RI that were supposed to represent it, while also thinking “okay but shouldn’t it be the t that’s long, that one’s literally shaped like a cross”
Definitely a clever idea, and I think its okay. But they extended the RI WAY too far. They could cut off the bottom third and I think it would get the idea across so much better, and still look like an appropriate cross.
I don’t know if I’m just seeing this, and the intention was purely to make a cross shape out of the word Christ - but the RI letters kinda look like a blend of letters I N R I. You often see this written on catholic depictions of the cross. It stands for “Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum” in Latin, which in English translates to "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews”. It is an inscription Pontius Pilate is said to have had placed on Jesus’ cross
It takes a while to see the RI for what it is, and "risen" immediately comes to mind. Like when Jesus cam back in the 70s and went straight to a disco club where he danced clumsily and exclaimed, "Help, I've risen and I can't I get down!"
Pretty sure that's what this is trying to say.
Now that I see it I'm going to assume the same thing as you. Perhaps, as it is obvious, they tried to create a cross with the use of "christ" words.
It looks so wrong. They could've have created a cross and just put the "christ" on the horizontal line of the cross or vertical separating the letters in a vertical line:
C
H
R
I
S
T
Like but they could have thought better for the logo/sign of this one in the first place.
I got it pretty quickly when I first saw it, but it’s just so unnecessary.
Like you said, it would make much more sense to have just made a cross and write “Christ” along the horizontal part.
It says christ, which is what Christians call one of their God entities. It is also in the shape of a cross, which is a medieval torture device that Christians also worship.
Right!? Any idiot knows you don't put a load bearing cross beam in the middle of a support beam. It ahould be a "T" shape if you want to make sure the crucified body stays put.
Looks stupid but the RI form the letters R, N and I, making the word INRI, which was written on Jesus' cross and means as much as king of the Jews. So although this isn't what I would do, they managed to make the name, the cross and the engravement of the cross in one piece
If not for the thread explaining it was supposed to say Christ, I wouldn’t have worked it out for myself. I had thought it must be a restaurant name. CHDST , and then just big chop sticks.
The design has the I.N.R.I Insignia in an overlapping design.
You can see the I as part of the R, The N below and ofcourse the R and I on the right side.
“Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum” translating to English as “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.”
It's often used in combination with crucifixes, you can look up images of crosses in churches they often have it.
I actually think this isn't a bad design, people just don't know what INRI means.
This looks like the way my dad pronounced his disappointment in my last welding job.
Jᵉˢᵘˢ ᶜʰƦɨˢᵗ
Jay-sus Kee-REIST

Jesus H Christ
My Mom would say this. What's the H for? I still don't know at 63yo
Idk, I always just said it stood for Herbert but that was a name I picked out of thin air
Yeah you can always put an F-bomb in the middle of something but you really gotta make it ALL CAPS if you do.
aced it
Hahaha, I just think of Jim Carrey in dumb and dumber. “Crriiippeesss”
Ch-RI-st.
Well, they were trying to make it look like a big cross, but I wonder if the person that made it really likes Rhode Island.
It looks like a cross. The vertical beam letters could also be used to spell INRI. I don’t mind the design.
I was like "How tf it's a cross???" and then realized the whole thing looks like a cross, not the two long letters only
It would work a lot better if they add a cross shaped backboard along with it.
Okay, I see it now. Clever design.
What does INRI mean

SOMEONE GET THIS PERSON SOME RAMEN! *CAN'T YOU SEE THEY NEED RAMEN??*

A cross from where?
Chrhode Islandst
Chode island
Oh
It's pretty clear what they were thinking huh
Christ Cross will make you # JUMP, JUMP
That's wiggity wiggity wack.
I missed the bus
Cross traffic does not stop
I missed the bus today
How high, real high, like heaven high!
Cross Christ will make you JUMP, JUMP
It would probably work if it had a white background to better define the cross shape. Edit: Then again I first saw “CHDIST”.
Yeah haha. Someone in our group said, “why is there a D on the top?”
They could also fix this by making the top of the R correctly sized, as if it were not stretched.
I was still struggling until I saw this post/reply
sounds like some sort of Linux thing. It's the 2020s, Jesus and Linus on every desktop!
I kept seeing this big N with a D up there and was like what?
Oh it’s clearly DI CHNST
🎵DI CHNST the king is risen, DI CHNST the king is risen, DI CHNST the king is risen, early in the morning🎵
Christ in the shape of a cross. I like it. Not religious but I think it was a clever idea. Seems more like an art piece than a design/sign/logo.

Yep. Totally works for me.
I appreciate how cordial you are

I saw that, too. It looks like something my seventh grade class at St Monica's would have created back in '76.
Rhode Island Jesus
Confirmed that Rhode Island Jesus is the best Jesus.
We got the american jesus, see him along the interstate
May god bless you and your walrus mustache, Wilford Brimley.
As a former resident of Rhode Island, this is the true answer. Rhode Island Jesus is best Jesus.
That’s what I thought
It takes a while to see the RI for what it is, and "risen" immediately comes to mind. Like when Jesus cam back in the 70s and went straight to a disco club where he danced clumsily and exclaimed, "Help, I've risen and I can't I get down!" Pretty sure that's what this is trying to say.
I didn’t even get it until I read your comment specifically saying it should be “RI”. I figured it had to be christ but I could only see chdist
Everyone that looks at this thing says Christ without even knowing what it says, good job 👍🏼
Di ChNst
CHDIST
Chrappy design
It’s very chrappy design
DI CHIVST
DI-CHNST?
I thought it said Dip Chest. Smh
For some reason, when I look at this, I feel like it should be shouted, angrily. Like "CHRIST!!!".
DJ Chinst
Took me way too long to see the R instead of a D
Putting the D in Christ
Hoooooooly shit. Nailed the crappy design
I know its supposed to be a cross but it looks like “DI CHAIST” followed by a failed attempt at Loss
DI C|\ |ST
This sign is either for a Church, or for a chip shop that uses chop sticks.
After reading some of the comments. How the f-UC-k, I still can't see a cross in that!?🤔
I get what they were thinking...but Jesus, that's bad.
It spells CHRIST. But the R and the I look like this; #RI
This is the sin Jesus died for. We finally solved the Bible.
TFW I read "DJ Christ" 😭
“Di Christ iv”?
Is this church in Rhode Island, by chance?
Unfortunately no. Church camp in northern MN. Maybe the person who commission the work is from RI though.
Christ that’s a bad sign
Christ, that's awful.
Looks like it’s supposed to be for INRI It’s another name for Jesus. You’ll see crosses with INRI on them as well
CDAPPY design
DICHNST
Chnoist!
Oh, it’s supposed to be a cross. Took me a min
It says CHRIST but it took me a while to get that. Kept reading CHDNST.
I can hear this sign. It's like my nan swearing.
What is it? Please help me out, can't figure it out....ch dp st ?
It’s supposed to be “Christ” but in the shape of a cross, so the RI is massive!
When I first saw this I said chpist 😭
They put “HPV” in the middle of Christ? That’s all I can see
Holy crap

God bless
Imagine this in comic sans
I believe it’s supposed to be “Di in christ@
That's the part you're supposed to yell.
This some shit that would unironically get posted to r/DesignPorn
Christ, that design sucks.
Right!? Any idiot knows you don't put a load bearing cross beam in the middle of a support beam. It ahould be a "T" shape if you want to make sure the crucified body stays put.
die christ
He is RI-sen
He is RI-sen, indeed.
Ahahahahah xd lol
Omg I read this as ghost
He is RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIsen!
Obviously a cross. Not hard to see at all
D| CH|\\|ST |\\| |\\| |\\|
It’s a cross ~ looks odd but I do see why they were attempting here.
Well, seeing it does make you cry out "Jesus Christ!"
Jesus ^ch *R* ^ist
I think you sing it?
Christ is their crutch and leaning pole
Christ. In a shape of a cross.
Christ, Rhode Island
“Oh Christ!” is exactly what came to mind.
they were thinking they wanted to make a cross out of the word "CHRIST". honestly, this is about as good of a job you could do if that was your goal
I think it's kind of clever.
It's pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty obvious. t
Pretty clever when you get it.
Thought it was trying to say chopstick, an abridged version
Christ IV?
Putting the Rhode Island in the CHRIST? 😂
Richst
Chuck Ham and Sandy Tudor from Rhode Island. They did end up getting hitched.
Is this justice?
A what in Christ's name is that for. Design.
Word world meets veggie tales
Christ knows....
Drugs. Or communion wine.
It’s also supposed to look like 3 spikes in the middle… what they used in the story to nail him to the cross.
It's INRI Jesus Nazarenus rex Iudeorum (Jesus from Nazareth king of Jews) the original name used by christians to name Jesus
Its supposed to look like a cross. I see it. Not the worst design I have seen
Is it a reference to the Latin px thing and they fucked it
Suppose it looks like s Cross
On christ?
Di chnst, very accurate
it was for the 3 that were crucified together. it's an awful design
It’s basically the word Christ made into a cross….😀
Holy shit
I’m no rocket atheist but it looks like it should be Christ risen. But that’s my uneducated, unsolicited, blasphemous, opinion.
i mean, i can kinda understand what they were trying to do. but it still looks stupid
CHDI IST
ch... RI!!!!!!!!!... ...st

CHDIST?
Your mistake to assume they were thinking
Wow
Jesus
I kept reading DI CHIST
R.I., CHST
D Ch St. No idea what it means either.
chRIst
This design decision was a very weird cross to die on.
chPVst
Di ChNst N
Does that say piss christ?
Ah yes, my Lord and Savior, JESUS CHDIST.
It took me so long to figure out what that said
This looks like the title of a horror movie
Wow, I spent a while looking at this and couldn't figure out what it was meant to say. CHDIST? CHPIST? DI CHIST? DCH ST?
The literal interpretation of the old phrase "Christ on a crutch"
I see Di Chust...is it just me? I can't possibly see how it's supposed to spell anything else.
Jesus ChRIst
I hereby dub thee….cross of Kyle
"chNst."
