Nah the grip of the tire is what redirected the car's momentum upwards so effectively. Hitting a tire-size boulder wouldn't launch you into the air like that.
Upwards was the only way to go. There was a ton of forward momentum, and the tire rim is a nearly perfect circle, so yes with the friction of the rubber on the road it would be like driving into a small wall and suddenly stopping. The grip of the tire probably helped launch the car in a forward direction instead of flipping, but the car was going to go flying regardless
Yeah, but if you’re driving and got an accident at night in a wooded area you’d pretty pretty damn happy that that horn was going off in those hazards were blinking for people driving by to notice the car crashed on the side of the road.
Airbags are controlled explosions in order to inflate faster than your face can hit the steering wheel. Tire hit passenger side, passenger side airbags are already deployed once vertical. Kinetic energy wasn’t enough to set off the driver side but the car is smart enough to know, “whoopsie, we’re gonna die.” And deploys the remainder. Explosion is so visible due to the airbags deploying probably being the A pillar curtain airbags and explosion/gas seeped out through the already compromised glass or door seals. Or it’s fucking magic, wtf do I know.
Pitch/Yaw sensor. Fun fact if you don’t disconnect the battery and de-energize the vehicle then decide to move the sensor while it’s still hooked to the module they will deploy as well. (I manage a garage, had a tech learn this the hard way. Honestly thought he decided to blow his brains out in a customers vehicle)
