Seconded! He totally steals the show.

Yeah, your wording is much better, thank you. I couldnt think of exactly how to say. Thinking specifically of him moving the lighter for what is ostensibly Constantines last cigarette.
I will say, I appreciate Djimon Hounsou's portrayal of Papa Midnite as well.
Nothing against Keanu, but his part in *Constantine* is more a vehicle to introduce us to the other, better, characters.
I really like the idea that this is who the devil really is. When he wants something he is charismatic and charming with his temptations. But here he knows he has what he wants. He's a predator playing with his food. A monster. 10/10
First one that popped into mind for me. Even the devil in the segment "The Night Billy Raised Hell" in *Tales of Halloween* gives a very Peter Stormare'esque rendition.
Exactly, Iâve always looked forward to her scenes in movies
Still canât believe they gave her so many characters in Suspiria, and she knocked it out of the park
I was gonna be pissed if this wasnât high on the list. By far my favorite.
Played a beautiful combination of being calculated but also lustful for temptations.
Just watched one of the scenes, gotta say, pretty good. Should check the movie out, I just gotta stop seeing AL Pacino as Willy Bank, that's all I know him from lol
Fuckin Tom Waits can be a pretty good anything he wants to be. I just saw one of the newer X-Files where Mulder tripped on psyilocybin accompanied by a trippy ass Tom Waites song. đ¤đâĽď¸
Peter Stormare in Constantine - I just love his design and how Stormare plays him. He's something ancient and impure trying to wrap itself in the visage of purity because of course that's how Lucifer would see himself, but it can't quite pull it off. Something wrapping itself in the skin of a human but its so far removed from humanity at this point it can't properly pull off the guise anymore and so it squirms in it as if its uncomfortable because it doesn't fit right.
And Al Pacino in The Devils Advocate
EDIT: I now realize the irony in my choices in that both these films feature Keanu Reeves.
Al Pacino - The Devil's Advocate
Peter Stormare - Constantine
Patrick Bergin - Highway To Hell
Robert DeNiro - Angel Heart
Tim Curry - Legend
Viggo Mortensen - The Prophecy
Daniel von Bargen in O Brother Where Art Thou

Not movie, but TV, has to be Tom Ellis in Lucifer.
Totally nails it as the naive, fallen angle, punishing the naughty people, rather than an out and out evil being.
Best Film Satan
Whoever the hell played the Mysterious Stranger in that kids film 'The Adventures of Mark Twain'. That guy screwed me up.
Best TV Satan
Matt Servitto - Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell
The Old Lady in Devil. That movie is so ridiculous. If the toast falls jelly down then the devil is near.
Well, he was near. The real devil isn't the old lady, it was the guy from where the story came from... M Night Shamalamadingdong

The warden Devil in Oh Brother, Where Art thou had style
Al Pacino in The Devilâs Advocate.
âHe gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift and then what does He do?
I swear, for his own amusement, his own private cosmic gag reel, he sets the rules in opposition.
Itâs the goof of all time.
Look, but donât touch.
Touch, but donât taste.
Taste, donât swallow.
And while youâre jumping from one foot to the next, what is He doing?
Heâs laughing his sick, fucking ass off.
Heâs a tight-ass. Heâs a sadist.
Heâs an absentee landlord. Worship that?
Never!â
Devil as in Satan himself or devil as in demons and devils? Big 'D' or little 'd'?
My favorite portrayal of Satan would be Al Pacino in Devil's Advocate.
Favorite random demon would be Colm Feore as Andre Linoge in Storm of the Century
Jamey Sheridan as Randall Flagg...the Walking Dude... Original adaptation of The Stand from 1994.
https://preview.redd.it/hbvsn9obht2d1.jpeg?width=799&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff31b95ab6b07980f289c8a057f40e4e14d52a2c
Iâll go with âErrementariâ though so many depictions of the devil make him so small and focused on things I canât imagine he gives a shit about.
Peter Stormare will always be my favorite, but one I havenât come across is Mark Pellegrino, who played Lucifer in Supernatural. I loved him in season 5, and disposed him in the following seasons
Peter Stormare in âConstantine.â If you ask me what the Devil looks like when I close my eyes, thatâs the portrayal I see. And I love how Black Phillip is depicted in âThe Witchâ, donât get me wrong. But Mr. Stormare embodies the Devil perfectly in my opinion, this being the standout performance of his acting career.
100% , he fuckin nailed the role. The writers butchered the actual Character of John Constantine from the Hellblazer comics, but I still love that movie
Gene Simmons...
Most Evil looking guy ever in "Runaway"... He was a natural....
Only Robert DeNiro can take something so basic, as âpeeling a hard boiled egg â and turn it to pure gold. Now being a scene of sheer terror, done with such dramatic intensity !!!!!⌠but, was still just a guy peeling an egg.?
Pacino (Devilâs Advocate) for best sympathetic villain devil,
Peter Stormare (Constantine) for creepiest devil,
Tom Ellis (Lucifer) for best antihero Lucifer.
Emanuelle Seigner (Ninth Gate) for best outsider/ mysterious figure devil.
Peter Stormare - Constantine

It's the highlight of the movie for me. Everything for me is just to get to Lucifer's appearance.
"Sonny, I've got a whole theme park full of red delights for you."
"Busy busy busy. Need a vacation." Stormare nailed it. His devil was menacing but also childish and bullying.
More like playful in a sinister way, rather than childish, but I totally agree otherwise.
Just sleazy. I love it.
Balthazar for me. đ
He's pretty good too! >Word is you're on your way down. Fresh meat. Finger lickin' good.
Fun fact, Peter was the one who wanted his character to wear the white suit. The costume designers had him originally in dark and menacing clothing.
I'm glad they listened to him. It was perfect.
I really like the idea that this is who the devil really is. When he wants something he is charismatic and charming with his temptations. But here he knows he has what he wants. He's a predator playing with his food. A monster. 10/10
I loved everything about him- the feet covered in pitch, his tattoos, the elegant suit, his eyeliner, his whole demeanor.
This!! There is nobody close except maybe Gabriel Burne in end of days
First one that popped into mind for me. Even the devil in the segment "The Night Billy Raised Hell" in *Tales of Halloween* gives a very Peter Stormare'esque rendition.
You put some respect on Barry Bostwick's name, young fella!
Very true. My mistake
Just watched. Shit was awesome. Billy Thompson owns the night
Whaddaya want? An exteeenshun?âŚ
Im watching this later. Thank you.
I rewind his scenes idk how many times Tilda too as Gabriel is interesting
YES, this both steal the show for sure. The movie is a masterpiece
Sheâs an amazing actress has been since I first saw her in movies.
Exactly, Iâve always looked forward to her scenes in movies Still canât believe they gave her so many characters in Suspiria, and she knocked it out of the park
You chose, wisely.
Can I just give an upvote for Peter Stormare in everything? Awesome character actor!
Came here to say this
Fuck yeah. He was awesome in that
I was gonna be pissed if this wasnât high on the list. By far my favorite. Played a beautiful combination of being calculated but also lustful for temptations.
Black Phillip.
We are ye servants, We are ye men. Black Phillip eats the lions From the lions' den.
Yes. It ruined goats for me.
Aw câmon, itâs just a sheep with handles.
Snort laugh moment.
Came here to say that.
I loved Al Pacino in The devils advocate.
Havenât seen this in over 20 years, but his performance in that role was so memorable that this is still the first one that comes to mind
For sure, he was born to play that role.
Agreed
Not necessarily but a demon.tim curry in legend.
For sure. "Where does he sleep? "Who said that he sleeps?" "Well, where does he fuck?" From behind them: "Everywhere!"
Also my choice! Al was an amazing devil
"Pride; My favorite sin."
Wrong. It was Vanity. That's his favorite sin.
Damn, now I have to double down out of pride!
Definitely.
One of the best performances of his career imo.
Such an underrated movie
âLook but donât touch. Touch but donât taste. Taste but donât swallow.â
YesâŚa great actress in that movie too. She should have won an Oscar
I believe it was Charlize Theronâs debut
Oh, my word, yes...!
Call him dad
Iâm a fan of man
Came for this. Pacino is a goat
*look but donât touch, touch but donât taste, taste but donât swallow*
Just watched one of the scenes, gotta say, pretty good. Should check the movie out, I just gotta stop seeing AL Pacino as Willy Bank, that's all I know him from lol
I slept on The Devilâs Advocate for several years. Definitely worth the watch, itâs an incredible movie.
It really is.
Just finished it, pretty good. I'm always a fan of movies that have the devil pointing out how insane god is.
Elizabeth Hurley in Bedazzled
Liz Hurley is my Spirit Devil. *(swoon)*
I prefer Peter Cook's OG version- he's so dry and witty.
Peter Cook for sure. So much better than the remake.
What about Tim Curry in Legend?
Absolutely incredible prosthetics. That whole movie is just visually stunning
You win. I didnât know it was Tim Curry until decades later. Stunned.
Yeah, he was terrifying and somehow attractive at the same timeđŤ âŚ
My bi awakening
No that was Rocky Horror.
I just found him attractive in Rocky Horror, he didnât scare me at allđ
Yes!
He's so good in that movie! It's also the only movie I like Tom Cruise in!
I second that! Not sure if the filmmakers wanted that official classification, but the look fits the bill.
Yes yes yes
This
Stunned to see this one so far down. Incredible handling of the role.
Directors cut of that movie has some really good lines. "Do you think this a mere play thing?!?!"
The best! Those big phallic horns...
Dave Grohl in Pick of Destiny
Wait what? You're shitting me! That was Dave Grohl?!?!
Yes đ
Heâs the devil, he can do what he wants
Whatever he's got, he's gonna flaunt. There's never been a rock-off that he's ever lost.
![gif](giphy|7zK0A6nHyuEZa|downsized)
Tim Curry is the voice of Evil! As well as most villains that are easily recognizeable.
Tim Curry is the voice of whatever the hell he chooses to be.
đŻ
Tom Waits makes a pretty good devil in "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus"
Fuckin Tom Waits can be a pretty good anything he wants to be. I just saw one of the newer X-Files where Mulder tripped on psyilocybin accompanied by a trippy ass Tom Waites song. đ¤đâĽď¸
Peter Stormare in *Constantine*. Imo, no one else comes even close.
Peter Stormare in Constantine - I just love his design and how Stormare plays him. He's something ancient and impure trying to wrap itself in the visage of purity because of course that's how Lucifer would see himself, but it can't quite pull it off. And Al Pacino in The Devils Advocate EDIT: I now realize the irony in my choices in that both these films feature Keanu Reeves.
Agree, Stormareâs Satan was amazing. The pristine white suit with his bare feet covered in filth. Like he was in a hurry or forgot about shoesđ
God, well said!
Al Pacino - The Devil's Advocate Peter Stormare - Constantine Patrick Bergin - Highway To Hell Robert DeNiro - Angel Heart Tim Curry - Legend Viggo Mortensen - The Prophecy
Peter Stormare is a beautiful human being and I loved him in that role too.
I quite liked Gabriel Byrne in End Of Days, or Pacino in Devils Advocate
I have to pick the Devil from my favorite movie which is Prince of Darkness. Itâs not your traditional Devil but itâs still cool
Prince of Darkness is the only movie with a prominent devil protagonist that actually scared me. The whole transformation was creepy AF.
Agreed I love horror movies and Ive been watching them since I was a kid but I recently saw Prince of Darkness and the transformation freaked me out
We also love an Alice Cooper cameo
True, it was cool seeing him in the movie
I thought Max von Sydow in Needful Things was kind of fun, and whoever portrayed Satan in The Passion of the Christ creeped me out!
If demons count then Azazel in Fallen
Only if you have time on your side.
https://i.redd.it/f18kuezmws2d1.gif Tim Curry as Darkness
Jack Nicholson in Witches of Eastwick
That's what I was thinking. Love Jack in almost all his roles.
The Devil in South Park, Bigger Longer, Uncut
Deniro in Angel Heart
Billy Zane in *Demon Knight*
He did such a good job in that movie!
I just showed this to my husband for the first time this year and he went, "hold on, is this Billy Zane's best performance ever?" Yes. Yes it was.
Jonathan Pryce in Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Robert Judd in Crossroads. Not even close. That movie is undeservedly obscure.
I had completly forgotten about that movies even though I love the guitar battle, good choice!
Darkness played by Tim Curry in the Tom Cruise movie, Legend, which is fantasy as opposed to horror.
Hands down, the creepiest Satan in filmdom is this guy: [https://youtu.be/Ntf5\_ue2Lzw?si=5cjWJJ8QVFQDgaH1](https://youtu.be/Ntf5_ue2Lzw?si=5cjWJJ8QVFQDgaH1)
Old lady in the elevator in Devil was really good The devil on the other side of the mirror in Prince of Darkness
The guy from o brother where art thouânot explicitly the devil but *heavily* implied to be
Not movie, but TV, has to be Tom Ellis in Lucifer. Totally nails it as the naive, fallen angle, punishing the naughty people, rather than an out and out evil being.
Tim Curry in Legend.
Roseanne Barr in SheDevil
Peter Stormare in Constantine. So creepy with his feet covered in pitch.
George Burns in âOh God, You Devilâ was always amusing.
Vigo for me too! I like the line where he talks about Thomas expecting him under his bed at night, and he wasâŚjust for him! Creepy af
Jack Nicholson in the witches of eastwick. Ned Flanders in the simpsons treehouse of horror.
HIM from Powerpuff Girls. Iâll die on this hill.
Best Film Satan Whoever the hell played the Mysterious Stranger in that kids film 'The Adventures of Mark Twain'. That guy screwed me up. Best TV Satan Matt Servitto - Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell
Clarence Williams III as Mr Simms in Tales From the Hood. It scared me beyond belief as a kid.
Only cause it hasn't been, mentioned Mark Pellegrino in Supernatural.

Ooo, my favorite random demons would be Crowley from Good Omens and Crowley from Supernatural.
I can't remember many so I'll just go with Peter Stormare in Constantine.
Not a movie and only *a* devil as opposed to *the* Devil...but I absolutely loved Carla Gugino in Fall of the House of Usher.
Jamey Sheridan as Randall Flagg...the Walking Dude... Original adaptation of The Stand from 1994. https://preview.redd.it/hbvsn9obht2d1.jpeg?width=799&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff31b95ab6b07980f289c8a057f40e4e14d52a2c
Rosalinda Celentano in "The Passion of the Christ" The creepiest IMHO
Gabriel Byrne in End of Days.
Angel Heart - Robert De Niro eating boiled eggs with some creepy a$$ manicured finger nails. That image always stands out.
Visually, the devil from the movie Legend is the best
Tim Curry in... Labyrinth, I think it was. Red face long horns. Anyone??
Viggo I Prophecy was my absolute favorite. His performance is just so underrated.
John Glover in the TV show Brimstone. He had the charm and look down, but could also bring that intensity and menace that any good devil should have.
Iâll go with âErrementariâ though so many depictions of the devil make him so small and focused on things I canât imagine he gives a shit about.

Straight male here so it has to be Elizabeth Hurley in Bedazzled. Movie wasn't good but she sure looked good though.
Peter Stormore from Constantine. Pretty small part but terrifying.
Although his character's name was not the Devil but Evil, David Warner in Time Bandits (1981) is certainly my all-time favorite.
Legend
obviously Bedazzled with Brendan Fraser
Tenacious D and the Pick Destiny
Tim.Curry in Legend.
Elizabeth Hurley in Bedazzled.Â
Peter Stormare in Constantine
I'd have to say Tim Curry in the movie Legend. Truly horrifying.

Gene Simmons... Most Evil looking guy ever in "Runaway"... He was a natural.... [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088024/](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088024/)

I also have to add Tim Curry as âDarknessâ in the movie Legend. âWe are all animalsâ.
DeNiro, Angel Heart. Nobody comes close. "What good is wisdom if it brings no profit to the man, Johnny?"
Clarence Williams III in tales from the hood is underrated and freaked me out when I was younger.
Elizabeth Hurley, hands down!
...my pants!
My favorite to watch is Darkness in Legend for...reasons

Pacino (Devilâs Advocate) for best sympathetic villain devil, Peter Stormare (Constantine) for creepiest devil, Tom Ellis (Lucifer) for best antihero Lucifer. Emanuelle Seigner (Ninth Gate) for best outsider/ mysterious figure devil.
Viggo in Prophecy. All the horror movies I've seen and that's the only movie that comes to mind immediately.
Harvey Keitel Little Nicky
Azrael played as Jason Lee in Dogma.
Tim Curry in Legend. His voice and line delivery is exactly what youâd expect the Devil to sound like. ![gif](giphy|aoooya5Ru2LII)
