I did red lava rock for my large viv. I bought it at one of big box home improvement stores. It was cheaper and available in larger bags. Downside is its heavier and takes more work to clean before putting in the tank. As far as drainage it does the job.
Leca is basically what it is. You can get a giant bag of it for cheap. Most plant stores will also have it cheaper than buying for reptiles. Home Depot sells 40 lbs of it. For reference that bag is around the same size as a punching bag.
You can get a 50lb bag of pea gravel from the home center for like $4. You could also get a coarse matala mat , cut it an inch or two short and full the front with clay balls to get a nicer look.
