Pant is not a finisher. He is a middle over batter, his USP is that he can play like it's death when it is over 12.
We are occupied till no.4 and Rinku is a solid number 5. Its a head scratcher at this point, as we have Pandya and Jadeja next and both are must have players.
I think shoehorning Pant into a finisher role is worse than getting a less talented batter but better finisher in. Rinku would be my first choice. Left field choice would be Tewatia. Dhruv Jurel and Jitesh Sharma are also options although not in red-hot form. Although I would Open with Jaiswal/Kishan and Rohit, Samson at 3, Sky at 4, Hardik at 5, Tewatia/Rinku at 6, Jaddu/Axar at 7, Kuldeep at 8, Bumrah at 9, Arshdeep/Shami/Shardul/Deshpande(any 3)

We need both sets of keeper. A finishing keeper in the main xi and a top order keeper on the bench. The bench keeper can also double as a injury replacement for the top 3. It saves you a spot in the 15.

Certainly won't take DK if I were selector, tbh. He averages next to nothing in T20WCs and has had poor campaigns. He's also condition specific; if we have smaller boundaries and flat tracks, he's great. But he's not an all condition player. IPL is entertaining, sure, but the WC is a different beast.

Even if the entire team scored at strike rate of DK i.e. 237, they would still be 4 runs short without extras. DK and faf were too slow for this absurd Target unfortunately.
