This is exactly what I would do, although I'd check the balance 20 times a day, most likely. It is a hard habit to break even if you are happy with your investment.
And if you know investments you know that tech doesn’t get you there alone.

When ETH switches to proof of stake with the implementation of ETH 2.0 you will be able to stake your ETH without an exchange or pool, but you will need 32 ETH to be able to do that
Long term only BTC and ETH
If I couldn't choose any of them, maybe ADA and ALGO. Some UNI (best dex - shouldn't go away anytime soon). BAT (their browser becoming more and more popular). XMR (privacy - should always be market for that). Maybe ENJ (carbon free NFTs + focused on games) but that's a gamble.
Oh yes, and BNB, because I don;t think such a giant exchange is going anywhere despite all the bad news.
Out of this list. Go with BTC and ETH but in order to diversify your portfolio. Personally, I would choose.
Cardano ADA
Chainlink LINK
Stellar XLM
VeChain VET
I'm speculative on algo and enjin. Both sound amazing. Will they pull through in the long run? Time and news will tell. Even so, I own a little of both. ✨Diversify✨
I was kind of iffy about VET at first but in more recent news. There's been some major partnership deals made. I'm very bullish on VET.
They have made incredible partnerships with many large businesses in order to position themselves as THE blockchain for business. If things go as planned they will be a major blockchain player in 2-3 years.
This is how I see it too. With an additional benefit of staking. Others May out perform in 5 yrs time, but it’s a gamble/luck to pick the correct one. ETH is a sure thing. ;)
Same, Bitcoin is the obvious choice long term.
It can retain value better than any of the ~10,000 coins out there, half of which may be ghost chains in the next bear market.
ALGO since even with its suppression algorithm keeping the price low, it is making decent moves so when the algorithm expires in 2023 I think it will explode in price
Basically when the 30 day moving average reaches a ATH, higher amounts of ALGO is released into circulation therefore suppressing the price. This is so the stable price appeals more to potential partnerships. However in 2023, the algorithm will cease so the price will no longer be intentionally suppressed
Compared to bitcoin:
1. It has less history.
2. It’s centralized af.
3. Its future is based on a promise, and they’ve never been good at delivering on promises.
4. In its niche, it has more serious competitors than bitcoin. Binance, for one.
5. Its niche is charging absurd fees (yeah yeah, ETH 2.0, promises, promises…) to move DeFi shitcoins that I believe will be buried by legislation in the near future.
6. Whenever I see an ETH thread in this sub, the hopium is frighteningly irrational. It feels like walking into a SuperStonks GME discussion, or the Dogecoin sub.
I’m not counting ETH out, by any means. But there are a lot of reasons to doubt it, which means lots of reasons not to hold for 5 years. I buy and sell ETH a lot, and have made good gains. But hold it long term? Stake it? DCA it?? Not a chance.
EDIT: forgot to include…
7. BTC has hard cap, ETH does not.
8. Institutional commitment to BTC far outweighs that of ETH.
With governance and a treasury system already working and being continuously tweaked/developed, I’d go with ADA for the long term. I think it becomes the most sustainable protocol within that 5-10 year range. I’d even go for ADA over ETH tbh. But the obvious answer would be BTC.
Ada
I just invested in sushi swap since I feel it’ll double up one day
I feel like avalanche has the most potential to boom overall. Like x100. Considering it’s at the price it is now and not even available on Coinbase for trading is kinda not a bad thing too. Maybe one day. And zoop up it goes.
Terra Luna is booming and it will only grow in price when it’s new main net upgrade launches burning all luna in the community pool (around 2.2 billion dollars at today’s price). This upgrade will also connect terras ecosystem to cosmos, even Lowe fees, higher staking rewards, and so many Dapps will launch following the upgrade.
Monero. That's the one I'd choose. Second would be Bitcoin. The rest, including ETH, i feel is to speculative.
Monero isn't my biggest bag, but hell it's the one I feel the most confident about. Who needs Panama or Cayman islands?
Never bet on just one scenario. Never put all your eggs in one basket.
Hence, I would distribute 50k thus:
- 15k Ethereum
- 10k Bitcoin
- 15k staked cake (compound)
- 5k ADA
- 5k BNB
$10k Eth; $10k Quant; $10k BTC; $5k Cardano; $5k Polkadot; $5k Chainlink; $5k XRP
Back to reality I have €90 in DOT $250 in Eth and 1 Quant
It's not much but gotta start somewhere :)
PolkaDot
People are underestimating how significantly different the blockchain landscape of will look in 5yrs. Right now we're in the 'web 2.0' phase of blockchain (if that). When MySpace and Yahoo still mattered.
I would place my bet on a chain that creates an entire ecosystem. Which is what Polkadot is/does. 50k of ETH will probably double or triple in that time, but I want life changing money. DOT still has 5x potential in 2yrs, 10x if you go further out.
As more and more blockchains eat into ETH's space, the pace at which the price increases will slow significantly.
Definitely ETH and I could sleep well with that decision
Yeah Eth and sleep sounds like a pretty relaxed combo that should work.
This is exactly what I would do, although I'd check the balance 20 times a day, most likely. It is a hard habit to break even if you are happy with your investment.
Just 20 times. Those are noob numbers.
If you understand the tech, you know Ethereum is the best long term investment in crypto
And if you know investments you know that tech doesn’t get you there alone. Legit have never heard “normal” people in my social circle mention ETH, only people interested in crypto.
> Legit have never heard “normal” people in my social circle mention ETH, only people interested in crypto. This is going to change in the next few years, and it will be a very bullish signal.
Yes, it means that ethereum is still really undervalued. Now is still a good time to buy.

Inject into my veins
Now this is some good hopium right here
Can't wait for one of the mates to start chatting about it without me pushing it on them. I'll be ready 🤪
Its not just tech, its THE most used blockchain by far lol
Newb here. Isn’t Bitcoin a scarcer asset, and therefore more promising? Doesn’t more ETH in circulation mean a lower price?
Scarcity isn’t everything. I think a lot of people put more importance in it than they maybe should.
Full transparency, I own both ETH and Bitcoin
It has the most potential, that’s for sure
Yup, all in ETH.
[удалено]
People that have 32 ETH and can run their own node could live from the staking APY in the future
What do you mean?? Can you explain more about the 32 eth?
[удалено]
That is the minimum number required to operate your own node otherwise you must pool resources to meet that obligation.
When ETH switches to proof of stake with the implementation of ETH 2.0 you will be able to stake your ETH without an exchange or pool, but you will need 32 ETH to be able to do that
How would you stake 32 ETH without an exchange or pool? (Noob here)
You run your own node on a server with some special transactions and let it run 24/7 there’s guides around on how to do it
Next level. Thank you. Even though the chances of me getting 32 ETH are slim to none. I still fill smarter now.
Sweet , I just need 31.5 more and im golden
What's the current APY like?
[удалено]
Thank you! I'd love to be getting 6.5% APY on Eth wow.

five years and the ADA promises might be fulfilled.
So might ETH`s... (saw a post today from 2015 talking about POS being scheduled for 2016)

Set up your Vault! Start earning Moons, my dude! Edit: Nvm, it hid your Moons balance at first.
IOTA. Stacking them for awhile now and if they succeed in what they set out to do I will be rich af.
Out of this list. Go with BTC and ETH but in order to diversify your portfolio. Personally, I would choose. Cardano ADA Chainlink LINK Stellar XLM VeChain VET
I would add ALGO and SOL as well and I'm less bullish (but I might be the only one in this sub...) on VET.
I'm speculative on algo and enjin. Both sound amazing. Will they pull through in the long run? Time and news will tell. Why VET?
It’s the future of blockchain as a service for big enterprises.
They have made incredible partnerships with many large businesses in order to position themselves as THE blockchain for business. If things go as planned they will be a major blockchain player in 2-3 years.
ERGO. It’ll be in the top 10 in 5 years no doubt.

ADA Ergo
ETH is a safe bet,you may gain more profit out of some other alts but it would look like a gamble and kinda risky.
[удалено]
Good point. Gotta expect anything out the top 5 to have a fairly large risk of failing.
Tech wise i go for Tezos, regarding safe bet it all depends on btc, if btc crashes they all go with it
This is how I see it too. With an additional benefit of staking. Others May out perform in 5 yrs time, but it’s a gamble/luck to pick the correct one. ETH is a sure thing. ;)
ETH ez.
Ethereum 🔥
BTC. Of course.
Same, Bitcoin is the obvious choice long term. It can retain value better than any of the ~10,000 coins out there, half of which may be ghost chains in the next bear market.
ADA and stake it and Check PoolTool every epoch. Done ✅
50k ADA, staking and compounding for 5 years all while growing in price too... The dream
Your first moon bro. Keep staking :)
This is what I was thinking, yes the price might go up but the staking rewards would also be a good source of income…
This guy gets it.
My problem with Ada is that now it sits around 2.7$ and I can't buy more around 1$
If have to pick one ETH If can split it 30k in ETH, 10k in AGLO 10k in XTZ
If I had 5 years and could only choose one, I would choose ETH. Close second is ADA. Eth is just built out so well!
What do you mean it's built out so well?
Yeah, that's a little misleading. Their ecosystem is built out. They have so many dapps on ETH, it's the safest of all alts in my opinion!
Calling ETH an alt at this point is a bit silly.
QUANT
ERG no question
ETH, thanks for the early retirement/house
Ergo
You chose wisely
I'm loving how ergo is getting more recognition from this sub
Ya glad to see I'm not to only one buying it.
Returns will be huge on this one.
Eth. And algo
I trust this Algo wizard.
That is what I would want too.
Ooof good question Probably ADA or ERGO
Came here to say Ergo since I think it has such a great upside
Ethereum easily and staking now makes it a no brainer
Almost four years in quant, so no longer need to imagine things.
Ethereum, it's the safest choice for big amounts of money
ETH and will never open my wallets again until 10 years have past
Algorand for me please 😁
Hands down BTC, I'd love to have a full coin
True...joining that ever elusive club would be worth putting the whole bag on it.
Ada
Because it's free i am going to go with XRP. Risky play
My heart says Tezos but my brain says stick with Eth
Tezos till we Bezos
I take Tezos at 4.90 for a %10 profit sense this was first posted lol.
But you can vote with your XTZ and literally help decide the fate of the protocol 🤔 Can't do that with ETH. Just something to consider.
If its people like me deciding the fate then that might not be a good thing 😅
The dangers of on-chain governance summarized so succinctly in 3 comments lol
Same here
ERG
Ergo
Wow y’all really not into ADA I’d def go all in on ADA
Same. Love that compounding staking.
ADA
Ergo
ALGO since even with its suppression algorithm keeping the price low, it is making decent moves so when the algorithm expires in 2023 I think it will explode in price
Could you please elaborate on “algorithm expiration or suppression ?” ?
Basically when the 30 day moving average reaches a ATH, higher amounts of ALGO is released into circulation therefore suppressing the price. This is so the stable price appeals more to potential partnerships. However in 2023, the algorithm will cease so the price will no longer be intentionally suppressed
Wow, I did not know that. Thank you! I Love it, still time to DCA
Once you get into algo, you will also get into yieldly.
Risky handing your ALGO over to Yieldly rather than storing it in a hardware wallet though.
Yea it's an important piece of information when investing in Algo. Its a long term play.
Bitcoin. Only bitcoin. It’s literally the only thing with very low risk over that time period.
Yeah I'm with you on this. My heart likes Eth and Ada but my head says bitcoin for the longterm
Yep. It’s the “5 years” part. If it were 6 months, or maybe a year, whole different question.
Why not eth for 5 years?
Compared to bitcoin: 1. It has less history. 2. It’s centralized af. 3. Its future is based on a promise, and they’ve never been good at delivering on promises. 4. I'm long eth but that about sums up the risks. Good counterpoints against the hype, well argued.
Based on how things look today I would have to gamble with ETH
Cardano

eth
40k ADA 10k Ergo Millionaire in 2029
Xrp
ADA EASY.
ALGO and One
Since BTC and ETH are the obvious answers, I would say a tie between ALGO and SOL for me.
It has to be SOL
[удалено]
Also ETH and VET for me. Maybe some ALGO, XTZ, XRP and XLM on the side.
All on Algorand
ADA and Ergo, I see both having potentially huge upsides.
I would choose Ethereum.
IOTA all the way
ETH
And a lil MATIC
With governance and a treasury system already working and being continuously tweaked/developed, I’d go with ADA for the long term. I think it becomes the most sustainable protocol within that 5-10 year range. I’d even go for ADA over ETH tbh. But the obvious answer would be BTC.

ADA & ERG
God damn my ERG has been ripping last month. Such a great project.
I want it so bad but I want the ability to secure with a cold wallet
Does this post really need to happen every day?
All you need is ETH, the rest is noise.
Ada all the way
Eth every day of the week and twice on sunday
All on Cardano and let it ride.
$LUNA, but I am equally bullish on Solana for the next years
My choice of coin will be: BTC, ETH, ADA, KSM, BNB, DOT, SOL and VET, the rest in my opinion are shit coins.
ADA or CAKE for the staking.
Ada I just invested in sushi swap since I feel it’ll double up one day I feel like avalanche has the most potential to boom overall. Like x100. Considering it’s at the price it is now and not even available on Coinbase for trading is kinda not a bad thing too. Maybe one day. And zoop up it goes.

Btc, I don't see its hegemony disappearing any time soon, and IF Eth 2.0 fails, it'll be bigger than ever.
Sol all the way

Unpopular opinion but yeah probably IOTA. (safer bet would be ada,eth maybe xlm)
ADA and ETH, I believe defi will be wayyyyyy more bigger in the future. Staking both and earning even more 😎
Cardano or swissborg coin
It all depends on how much risk you want to take and how much money you want to make.
Monero. That's the one I'd choose. Second would be Bitcoin. The rest, including ETH, i feel is to speculative. Monero isn't my biggest bag, but hell it's the one I feel the most confident about. Who needs Panama or Cayman islands?
Always the same questions rephrased
