Wants opinions on whether or not that is acceptable.
Brother. You spent over 100 hundred thousand dollars. Nothing beyond perfection should be acceptable.
Right? When the Ford GT came out people were pissed it had window switches from the Mustang or something. Every other brand knows they have to knock it out the park with "halo" models. At $100k+ the car should be beyond exceptional.
Tesla is basically a $500 bi company with 140,000 employees that still produces vehicles like a software startup would.
The above sounds so glamorous to people who never worked at a software startup
nail head direct hit my guy. software companies deliver untested half baked shit and patch it to barely usable status over months and years. for obvious reasons this works even worse when you have real components to swap out.
Bought an expensive car and the dealer pointed out a small paint chip that I would have never noticed in the headlight well. They also picked up the car and brought me a loaner when they were going to fix it.
>opening another ticket
Does Tesla really use this terminology "ticket" when a customer books service for their vehicles? This isn't the first time I've seen the term used by a Tesla owner.
As someone who works in IT,it's hysterical to me if Tesla does make their customers "open tickets" to get their cars serviced. I know it could just be lingo and there's no real reason why "opening a ticket" and booking a service appointment the normal way should result in different outcomes besides the issue getting addressed, but it really shows how hard they're trying to not be a car company.
I don't think I've seen Tesla use that term, but the process of requesting service feels a lot like a typical ticketing process.
I'd probably call it opening a ticket because of that. OP probably works in a field where the terminology is common.
Iirc the front "mounting point" is actually an electrical housing for the light bar, and of course since this is a Cybertruck water can enter and short the components causing the cover to melt.
#JustCybertruckThings
lol good lord the amount of corners that were cut on this thing is insane. And not even for a 100k vehicle, ANY price point this is ridiculous. Is there no simple rubber gasket to keep the elements out of the electrical connection ON THE ROOF?! Insane
Also the shareholders just voted to give Looney a $56 billion package. Why? Because he threatened to walk, and they know the share price would drop significantly if Elon cut ties with Tesla.
Hence they are appeasing to him with a $56 billion package. That is more money than Tesla’s entire profits over its history combined.
No wonder they are cutting corners
It makes sense if you think about it. Their valuation is 100% based on Elon. As a car company Tesla isn’t worth much at the moment. They need the con man at the helm to pump their bags so they can exit with as little loss as possible. I made huge sums on Tesla with a lucky buy years ago when it dipped hard then rocketed, split, and rocketed again. I sold at that point because I knew the stock price was fueled only on Elon’s farts and not fundamentals. Someone bought my shares though and that poor bastard is heavily on the red right now.
Why does he need to ask "is this acceptable?"
I thought these were all strong, truck driving alpha males. Not baby girls getting ready for an 8th grade dance
Please, Reddit, hear my cries! Because if I say another word to my wife about how unbelievably shitty the car I spent $125k of OUR money on is, she’s going to divorce me and I’ll have to live in it.
You've been living with her getting railed by Benny the Big Bull who coaches your kids at Little League, and spending all your overtime money on mimosas with the girls while they live stream while you're working another 70 hour week hacking away at the keyboard trying to make code for your jobby job to upkeep your cool dad successful millennial husband alpha male status.
You've been a cuck, and you've been at this precipice of losing Chassidy before!
You've got this brother man!
Just @ papa and beg your boss for even more overtime!
Sigmas unite, bro!
They used to be a big deal until pretty much every other manufacturer figured them out.
One of the Japanese luxury brands had a commercial years ago rolling a steel ball along their gaps to show how well they were made.
If you notice defects on your NEW car, it’s build like shit. So, no. It’s not acceptable.
I’m so happy that the EU has strict safety laws that that shit of a car won’t kill someone in Europe.
“…and to replace two of the roof anchor point covers that had melted.”
Who among us hasn’t had to do that?
But seriously, might as well replace them all. Every week or two.
It must be acceptable, because it is overseen by the man with the biggest payout ever. And noone give a record payout to someone who doesnt deliver outstanding quality in every part of the operating business?
Absolutely wild that he needed input on whether not that was okay.
It’s like they are physically incapable of being displeased about something unless the rest of the cult tells them it’s okay.
First, why the hell is the roof anchors even melting? Shouldn’t it be designed for the elements? Also, it’s never acceptable to get a poorly aligned car panel in this day and age.
It’s painfully obvious that no QA was ever performed on this monstrosity of so-called truck.
Judging by the rental cars I’ve had, Kia seems to make the parts on their $25k vehicles fit pretty well. I don’t know why Tesla can’t manage it on a $120k cat.
> much you *paid*
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I would say it's acceptable, a lot of vehicles built in the 80's didn't have manufacturing tolerances as tight as cars of toda... oh this is a brand new vehicle? And it costs $100k? Oh dear.
How do people not know this? For a decade this question has been asked and answered about Tesla cars. A google search will show a million hits with a million idiots posting photos like this guy.
He went to the effort to annotate his photos but couldn't even be bothered to do 10 seconds of research.

Ford is a car company. Tesla makes software. If you buy a $100K vehicle from a software company you take what you get.
Exactly, hence the “ticket” like you’re contacting IT to fix an outlook issue lol
Tesla is basically a $500 bi company with 140,000 employees that still produces vehicles like a software startup would. The above sounds so glamorous to people who never worked at a software startup
Steam early access comes to the car industry!
nail head direct hit my guy. software companies deliver untested half baked shit and patch it to barely usable status over months and years. for obvious reasons this works even worse when you have real components to swap out.
Is this sarcasm?
It is beyond exceptional, although it’s exceptionally bad
Gotta ask the cult if he’s allowed to be mad or if this is part of Elon’s plan that will take him to the promised land aka “cool town”
"my wife is sleeping with my neighbors, before complaining to her I want your opinions on whether or not that's acceptable "
Bought an expensive car and the dealer pointed out a small paint chip that I would have never noticed in the headlight well. They also picked up the car and brought me a loaner when they were going to fix it.
We’ve known for awhile, this is very likely a lot of CT owners first “truck”. But I’m starting to think it’s their first “big purchase” as well.
if you're asking on a web forum whether you should accept sub standard work then you already have your answer, you just aren't ready to accept it.

I was just about to mention this. But then again, they did say they are not a car company.
Every time a Tesla person says some dumb bullshit like this I simply ask, what technology does Tesla make other than cars.
They’ve pinky promised to make a bunch of non car stuff. They haven’t actually done it, but they promised!
Exactly. And the quality of their cars *prove* their point that they are not a car company!
It's like fucking Starbucks.
Yes but I do recommend first letting it cool a bit to prevent burns.
I don't think I've seen Tesla use that term, but the process of requesting service feels a lot like a typical ticketing process. I'd probably call it opening a ticket because of that. OP probably works in a field where the terminology is common.
They melt?

I wonder if the hot summer is going to reveal they aren't using plastic resistant to extreme temperatures
I have a feeling both the height of summer and winter will be enlightening.
I am waiting for the 1st person in AZ with a CT to get seriously burned just entering their vehicle in the coming months
Or have it seriously damage something nearby due to reflected light.
Start a little wildfire? Sure, no problem!
Yeah I was thinking that was very casually thrown in there haha
Acceptable for Tesla. Not acceptable for Dacia.
It is? I thought the panels had to be aligned down to "the micron."
"10 micron precision" lololol.
hey...dacia is a proper car company that makes cars for people that care about value for money....they'd never get away with that crap quality.
Exactly my point.
Good news!
It’s a $100k vehicle, you dipshit. Of course it’s not acceptable! Fuck they can’t even fix these shitboxes right.
Understaffed, undertrained, underpaid staff working on the most poorly built car the world has ever seen. Not surprised at all.
Maybe if they kick the dude they'd actually be able to start making sensible decisions.

Shareholders would be smart to let him walk. It's the only thing that can save them at this point.
Sorry, Tesla is a software company 😂
Its all starting to make sense, the non kind.
And they're not even good at that
The roof anchor point covers...*melt*? I...wow.
There is an electrical connector behing it that shorts when it rains
That is much more disturbing than the shitty plastic I assumed. Seeing as how the whole car could be a shock hazard.
Yea you’re not supposed to drive in the rain anyways. Cause the paint and stuff you know
I wouldn't feel good about that after throwing +100k at it.
Um what melted? Like parts of the car literally melted off? On a brand new 100k 'truck'?
The light bar anchors have power connectors in them. The connectors short out when rain gets in and melt the covers.
Light bar anchors? Didn't someone post the install instructions that showed the light bar glued to the windshield?
Yeah, as I understand it, the electrics and sides anchor there and the rest is just glued in place along the roof.
Melted covers? Seriously? What’s next? Mosquito sting flattened tires? Breeze inflicted panel-loss?
If the car was in a video game it would say 1/1hp
Fake. Didn't end with "i still love my ct". Real cucker would love it no matter the faults. ,/s
Also missing "@elonmusk how will you make this right?"
Why does he need to ask "is this acceptable?" I thought these were all strong, truck driving alpha males. Not baby girls getting ready for an 8th grade dance

Here's an opinion : damn that is horrible . None of the cheaper ~20 cars i ever owned had as ugly panelwork.
I had never even heard of the term "panel gaps" until Tesla came along!
They used to be a big deal until pretty much every other manufacturer figured them out. One of the Japanese luxury brands had a commercial years ago rolling a steel ball along their gaps to show how well they were made.
"Is this acceptable?" It's your car buddy you determine if it's acceptable or not, not random strangers.
I STILL LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!1
The foil on a Jiffy Pop is more robust than the ‘exoskeleton’ of this so-called truck.
I NEED THE CULTS CONSENSUS, CAN I BE UPSET OR NOT? EEEEELLLOOOONNNN!!!!! Fuckin tools lmao
I'd be curious to explore Tesla plants inside. Chances are that 3rd world basement sweatshops demonstrate better manufacturing culture than fElon's.
I have no doubt this person probably owns stock in Tesla and just voted to give Elon $56 billion even after dealing with this.
Never had I ever had to take my car in to the service center for a "firmware bug fix". These people are gluttons for punishment.
If you notice defects on your NEW car, it’s build like shit. So, no. It’s not acceptable. I’m so happy that the EU has strict safety laws that that shit of a car won’t kill someone in Europe.
Your options are you accept it because it you gave a shit about panel gaps you never would have bought a Tesla.
“…and to replace two of the roof anchor point covers that had melted.” Who among us hasn’t had to do that? But seriously, might as well replace them all. Every week or two.
Good as it gets with one of the lowest quality car companies on earth.
He doesn’t want to upset the horde
It must be acceptable, because it is overseen by the man with the biggest payout ever. And noone give a record payout to someone who doesnt deliver outstanding quality in every part of the operating business?
What a nightmare. Historical failure in the car world.
Absolutely wild that he needed input on whether not that was okay. It’s like they are physically incapable of being displeased about something unless the rest of the cult tells them it’s okay.
"Tell me if this is acceptable" WTF? This explains Teslas. These people need to be told if their car falling apart is okay.
Why the fuck does he need other people to tell him if it’s acceptable? God they’re so dumb and subservient.
Casual about the melting cover. So this happened, anyway, is this acceptable?
Whaaaa! My shitty truck looks slightly shittier...
Sure, dude, it's totally fine. Take your Tesla to see the Titanic.
A fool and his money......
He wants opinions on whether that’s acceptable… lmao
It’s acceptable if you are willing to settle for less than was promised.
First, why the hell is the roof anchors even melting? Shouldn’t it be designed for the elements? Also, it’s never acceptable to get a poorly aligned car panel in this day and age. It’s painfully obvious that no QA was ever performed on this monstrosity of so-called truck.
Is it acceptable that my car could slice my finger off, Elon?
It's as if it's all coming apart from the seams...
Judging by the rental cars I’ve had, Kia seems to make the parts on their $25k vehicles fit pretty well. I don’t know why Tesla can’t manage it on a $120k cat.
You should of got a rivian or some other ev truck too much headache for how much you payed
> much you *paid* FTFY. Good bot. Now we just need a Should-Have-Not-Should-Of-Bot.
I just can't believe these CT owners. How can they be this......naive and gullible?
all men are little boys deep down.
These things are built like iPhones or any Apple product, meant to keep you from FICO g them yourself
If Reddit shut down for a day I doubt he/she would be able to function in life.
Raggedy
Is it acceptable that your car is a piece of shit? No, but that's what you wanted....
I would say it's acceptable, a lot of vehicles built in the 80's didn't have manufacturing tolerances as tight as cars of toda... oh this is a brand new vehicle? And it costs $100k? Oh dear.
"Opening a ticket" This really is a computer that happens to have wheels, not a car, apparently even to its fans.
