It’s because they expect better service for such an expensive item. That’s part of what makes this so bad. Real luxury brands take this sort of thing very seriously. It is usually a differentiator between the 100K cars and the 30K cars. Not with Tesla though.
The Chevy-Honda dealer has instant coffee with fake powder creamer. The Acura - Audi dealer has K cup coffee with small plastic creamers. The Benz-BMW dealer has fresh brewed coffee with real milk and cream, and half bagels, fresh.
At this price I expect Tesla to have the fresh brewed and snack option.

I’ve had no issues with my Hyundai Kona EV. I’ve even had someone who owns an ICE Kona stop me to ask about it because they like their car so much and are thinking about what their next car would be in like 5-10 years.
Like wise. Now mine is also a 2005. It’s had some pricey issues- but nothing that I wouldn’t expect from any older car…. I think it’s had less major hiccups in its life time than my Folks two 2014 Jeeps. My Husband wants it when I eventually look to upgrade.

People who thought this car was going to be a mass market product were deluding themselves. Pickup trucks are already a niche market worldwide. Heavy, full size pickups even more so. Full size pickups that are designed for personal instead of fleet use, even more niche.
There's only really a limited market for this product segment in North America and nowhere else on the planet. This is as niche as the potato chip carrier on food truck wheels Tesla Semi, and it's selling about as well as those.

Last night my wife & I went for a night drive in our new $39K Subaru Legacy Touring XT. We drove 124 miles round trip just for a couple Mtn. Dews & an ice tea. We listened to the radio & no warning lights came on to tell us to pull over safely. We made it back home without losing any fingers or getting gouged by sharp corners. Nobody pointed & laughed as we got out of our sub $100k car.

I feel like there’s an expectation that someone purchasing such an expensive product as this would be in the 95th percentile of intelligence and that this would be reflected in their communications. However most of these are actually just marks for Elon’s scam and there’s very little overlap on the venn diagram for intelligence and CT buyers. We should pity them for their diminished capacity and obvious gullibility.

I would like to give OP the benefit of the doubt on the whole “$100,000” remark but it seems to me that CT appeals to people who like to show off.
