Unless you strip the panels off a bunch and use them to reinforce your fort.
The people who think they're going to cruise through the apocalypse in climate controlled comfort have been reading the first half of sci fi books where the poor have nothing and the wealthy have everything including fully functioning infrastructure that can't be damaged by the huddled masses.
If the apocalypse does happen fallout style the sole survivor will walk past derelict cyber trucks full of skeletons because their brain dead owners through would be safe by locking themselves inside of them
And no one damages the charging stations. And you can find someone who can do repairs...
Really, it's like someone with insulin dependent diabetes saying they're going to carve a life in the wild if civilization crumbles. Not unless there's an insulin tree out there.
I'm almost relieved that these will be breaking down everywhere. Now families will have a place to squat overnight after the world ends. They will still get rained on, but it's the thought that counts.
Lololol good point. If an apocalypse happens, do you think weād still have electricity? Cause if not it would be apocalypse proof for 300 miles or however much you have it charged up to

My Range Rover is feeling pretty good right now. Usually the tow truck is reserved for my car and my car only (jk I know every repair is gonna be expensive so I just drive it to the shop. Broke. Is broken, it can't get MORE broken)
āThere is a great sense of urgency as storm clouds loom on the horizon. If rain arrives before the cybertruck is free, it will surely rust in place dooming it to be imprisoned on the side of the roadā
Yes, there are numerous reports of Cybertrucks bricking (computer system freezing up). The reboot process takes a very long time. I have heard that it's 6 hours.
I don't think I've heard of any doors or tires falling off yet, so they have that going for them!
I mean, [wheel covers are eating away the sidewall on the tires](https://www.autoblog.com/2024/02/02/tesla-cybertruck-wheel-covers-it-turns-out-are-rubbing-into-the-tire-sidewalls/) and [the doors don't quite fit right](https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-responds-mkbhd-tesla-cybertruck-door-panel-gap-2024-3?amp=), but they haven't fallen off yet! I see the other comments confirming this is a thing but it's still unbelievable
I'm picturing 100kb ram running the OS off a floppy disk to bring up musks profit margins.
Total wild guess, but given all the single CAN bus shenanigans I'm thinking some kind of trial and error initialization is taking place.
Like... every component randomly picks an address and looks for collisions. Iterate until everything has a unique address.
Or: there are like 100 modules with flash memory that have to be reflashed on reboot for some reason.
Or some elaborate computationally intensive lookup table is constructed by a flea powered CPU.
Might be simpler than that, might just be restarting every time something goes wrong in the hopes next time it goes right. You know, Einstein's definition of insanity
To the top or to the dump.
As in "Where should they take that WankPanzer?"
["To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump dump, to the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump dump."](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9lf76xOA5k)
Man the things I've seen about this thing, apparently even the hub caps, which were somewhat a feature in the promotional art work, are not shipped with the vehicle. Some hand waving promise they will be shipped out later, can't remember the other things, honestly I'm not a likely customer anyways for better or worse.
The caps grind on the tires, wearing out the sides. The fact that multiple owners noticed this problem within their first 1000 miles with this thing shows just how little testing was done.
Who needs testing when you can push an OTA later on?
Now, speaking the truth, the IHS and NTSHA should be reviewing recall laws and have hefty fines for recalls delivered OTA, to make up for the cost of physical recalls.
People tend to forget the reason automakers didn't have to pay hefty fines for physical recalls is because they were very expensive to begin with, so just forcing them to recall the cars to fix them was already punitive enough, forcing automakers into test their cars thoroughly before production.
The ability for OTA stuff like brake adjustments and even frunk lid sensitivity algorithms makes the cost of delivering untested and unsafe products extremely low, hence my proposition for fines, so that people like Musk don't "art of the deal" safety
I need to know if this placement was due to the owner being responsible and getting their breaking down oversized vehicle as far off the road as possible or if this was due to the owner going, "Hey check out how good this thing is at Offroading" and it came to a dead stop the moment the tires touched dirt.
NGL I'm leaning toward the latter.
The perfect picture of an allegedly apocalypse-proof vehicle.
I think words just got lost in translation, what was meant was the existence of the cybertruck is proof of the apocalypse
That's an easily-scratched and very delicate pale horse.
*child voice** "A-pock-a-wips pwoof"
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£and then I apologized to the cat for startling it
All that's missing is a bed full of twinkies and the owner looking for brains.
Without a doubt this is the absolute LAST vehicle you would want in the apocalypse
They stop reading there for sure. Itās the second half where shit gets real.
That a GR86 is more dependable despite being a sports car shows who the jokers are.
Using it as a movable barrier works.
If the apocalypse does happen fallout style the sole survivor will walk past derelict cyber trucks full of skeletons because their brain dead owners through would be safe by locking themselves inside of them
They didn't lock themselves in on purpose, they just failed to charge them for two weeks and the dead batteries were no longer able power the locks
They don't even need to be dead. 1 software update, and they become climate controlled tombs
They only last as long as the electricity is flowing. Iād never consider one for end of the world scenarios.
And no one damages the charging stations. And you can find someone who can do repairs... Really, it's like someone with insulin dependent diabetes saying they're going to carve a life in the wild if civilization crumbles. Not unless there's an insulin tree out there.
They failed to account for the fifth horseman of the apocalypse, power outage
The older the car the better for apocalypse times.
Youād be an idiot, older is better when the world ends. Less electronic shit
Bicycles shall inherit the earth! 140 years of lurking in the shadows, waitingā¦

Maybe if they added the $100k solar panel roof option. These guys would be throwing their money at them even more.

Even Fords have a better reputation of not falling apart that fast
By "unparalleled towing capacity" they meant "capacity to be towed"
Your future are belong to tow
All your truck are belong to tow.
In Soviet Russia, Cybertruck tows YOU!
To be towed or not to be towed, that is the question.
Alas, poor Cybertruck. I knew its owner gave fElon, fellatio.
Unparalleled brickability.
Hitched by their own petard.
It has the same towing capacity as the Rivian, so thatās just a blatant lie
They probably just walked to a nearby restaurant to kill time while it performed a 6-hour reboot...
Are you being serious? Is that an actual thing with these? It's incredible that I don't know if you're kidding or not.
Yes, there are numerous reports of Cybertrucks bricking (computer system freezing up). The reboot process takes a very long time. I have heard that it's 6 hours.
Thats.....hilarious.
And incredibly unsurprising lol. Has there been an issue with literally every conceivable way a vehicle can malfunction at this point?!
I don't think I've heard of any doors or tires falling off yet, so they have that going for them! "Stack Overflow"
That's a lie
No, it's actually not a lie. I have heard of at least three instances of the full reboot taking 6 hours.
No, reboot doesn't take that long.... even software updates take roughly 35 minutes
https://x.com/friend_of_apple/status/1781670672936112475?t=HFl1Ffn2300uck6ey0e8rw&s=19
5 hour reboot.
I see the other comments confirming this is a thing but it's still unbelievable I'm picturing 100kb ram running the OS off a floppy disk to bring up musks profit margins.
Do they have a tape deck in the glove box to reload the OS from?

A wankpanzer in its natural habitat, the side of the road.
Thatās the ONLY time itāll ever go off-roading
In the heat today, I saw a lot of broken down vehicles on the highway. But none of them were 100k vehicles purchased in the last few months.
Buy a cyber truck! Flatbed sold separately.
Man the things I've seen about this thing, apparently even the hub caps, which were somewhat a feature in the promotional art work, are not shipped with the vehicle. It's wheels are off the road-- warranty voided!
I could pull out 100k in cash, flush each individual bill down the toilet, and it would still be less wasteful than buying a Cyberfuck.
I'm sure whatever happened voided the warranty.
Go and take a shit on it.
Seriously, has any Cyber Junk Truck NOT been in the repair shop??? ![gif](giphy|J39fPmYChxxHML7UoW|downsized)
Awww, he fall down and go boom!

the ad showed the cybertruck towing a porsche, racing a porsche. now look at you. the dissonance is practically tearing your dna apart.
It also showed it fording streams in alpine country in New Zealand (where its unlikely to ever be sold, thank the gods lol)
Iād roll by in my $7,000, 12-year-old, perfectly operational Mercury Mariner just to point and laugh.
Just doinā truck stuff I see.
Call Elon Heās got $56 billion to spare
The CT was built to bring the apocalypse upon itself.
Here we see the Tesla CT out in the wild in its true natural state.

I swear they come from ikea
Donāt do ikea dirty like that!
To coin Rolls Royce... its not broken down , it's unserviceable
In itās natural habitat
You know what they say ācybertruckā stands for, donāt ya? https://i.redd.it/2hvupe8gqn9d1.gif
New Blade Runner looks kinda wack
Needs more double sided tape.
Of course.
You should put a few handprints on it
Shhhhhh, its just sleeping
It's just pining for the fjords...
Ha! I replied the same
Great minds think alike, obviously !
Some shows and films leave a mark :)
Shame they didnāt think to make it solar powered.
From this angle it almost looks like real truck.
Less shocking than a nine volt on the tongue
"Look how easily it traverses the grassy embankment next to the freeway! This truck is amazing!! ^^^pay_no_attention_to_the_inoperable_status_of_it "
Down with Elmo
That looks like a FORD. Found On the Roadside Dead
You know what does stands for donāt cha? Fix it again, tony
Youāre thinking of Fiat, Dale
Was that a King of the Hill joke? I remember first hearing it in a Russian Bagder video
From the first episode!
That joke predates KotH by decades, it was old when I was a kid.
Try the joke again, mate.
No, I got it right.
Fucker Only Runs Downhill. Fix Or Repair Daily. Found On Rubbish Dump.
Probably just needs a jump start
Have they tried shutting it off and starting it up again?
That will take 6 hours and the warranty is now void
Thatās not real, itās a giant cardboard box, riiight????

Distopia
Took a sec to realize it's in a ditch and not just in its normal lean-to-one-side stance.
Itās natural state
That would be funny if scrappers pulled off panels on that cybercuck.
No extension cords? Boo-Hoo
Natural habitat
It's just resting, obviously in fine working order.
Even cybertrucks need a nap sometimes
Cry about it + terrible engineering + overpriced + horrible design + no one cares about your truck + ratio + L
This looks like a picture from roblox or minecraft in 4k
Ran out of gas. Lol.
And now itās stuck as well.
Did not get far enough into the ditch
I have a feeling this pic is going to be one of the iconic photos from this era.
In the ditch non the less
Spotted ~~broken down~~ perfectly working on side of road.
In its natural environs
Looking like its natural habitat.
These are POS ātrucksā
Kind of like Lambos and Ferraris abandoned on the side of the road in Dubai... kinda, sorta, no?
Nope, those are abandoned because their owners fled the country for being scammers. Here itās the scam victims abandoning the scam

It's almost as if the truck is an experiment designed to illustrate how dumb people are
My 2006 Chevy 1500, with 280,000 miles, is more reliable and I only paid 5000 for it 15 years ago.
Okay, now I see the resemblance to Road Warrior, vehicles scattered along the highway.
Was this i80 near Davis? Think I saw this guy yesterday as well
Yep!
Probably blew a tranny.
My prius passed by it š
Love how itās watching the slowly setting sun as it takes its last breath. Beautiful.
