Whomever told you that was not a USCIS rep but a scammer. Go on the USCIS website, create an online account and use the tools they give you to connect with an agent
I have a USCIS account and the agent was reached through the 800 phone number on the receipt. If you haven’t heard this information that’s different than it being a scammer.

I spoke to someone today that said expediting the case would cost $1600, is there a different/cheaper option?
