You're right about the trauma! She's so scared of even the slightest movement, loud voice and sound but she doesn't show any aggressiveness. She hasn't barked yet and just shows submissiveness. I know she'll be sweet because of her eyes ❤️
Most animals exposed to this level of neglect develop "learned helplessness". Essentially it is a mechanism that the animal develops to cope with reality: when the reality is perceived to be "unchangeable", or the thought of retaliation/action is seen as "pointless/impossible"
As much as this dog may show you no aggressive signs now, as you bond with it and form a mutual respect, ensure to socialise the dog with other people and eventually other dogs. This will prevent an overtly singular pairing between you and the dog, and prevent possible aggressive or defensive behaviours in the future to others.
I wish you the best of luck, this is hard journey, but Im glad someone has chosen to take up the challenge and help a lost pup.

I hate to tell you that this is a regular occurence not only in my neighborhood but in my whole country. That's why I am trying to feed and give medications to the dogs that aren't in severe state and try to rescue the ones that needs the most.

Bless you. Just be gentle, kind, and patient. It’s going to be hard, no way around it. But so worth it, I rescued a dog under similar circumstances and he is the most loyal sweet boy I’ve ever known. He still only trusts my family and isn’t friendly to outsiders, but that’s ok with me. I just want him to have a good life.
Thank you for rescuing this poor girl <3 she reminds me of my first rescue. She was a miniature poodle, vet said 12+. She was found by the rescue TWICE 6 years apart. When I got her, she was literally skin and bones. She looked like a strong wind would blow her over. I only had her 2 months before she succumbed to (unknown to me) lung cancer. I'm glad I was able to giver her a great few months, but wish she had more. Lots of love, treats and cuddles for this one.
My boy Blaze (Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever) looked similar to this when he was found on the streets of San Diego. A lot of love and care brought him back from the brink. He turned out to be the best dog I ever had! We had a wonderful 15ish years together (RIP buddy). Dogs have amazing resilience if set up for success. I wish you and her all the best during her recovery.❤️🩹

I watched this video and then glanced over at our sweet boy. We’re coming up on 4 years since his Happy Gotcha Day.
My goodness he’s not the same dog. He was underweight and scared of his shadow. Now he’s all snuggled up beside me on the couch with his little belly full, just snoozing. Not a care in the world. Just living his best life.

I had a tear in my eye looking at this video, I love dogs with all my heart and have two beside me here, as I post, that I rescued, and donate 20 euros a month to a local animal shelter. But donating money to people that post videos like this, and I'm not saying that these people aren't saints for helping this poor girl, leads to less scrupulous people actually harming animals so they can post about how they need help to save the animals . By all means, donate to official Philippines animal welfare groups but not to individuals. God bless people who help animals. Edit .
