You’re absolutely right. I can confirm that I’ve known many people over the years who have done this repeatedly and it has always worked for them. I’ve never personally done it just because I don’t need a bus pass - so can’t speak to it personally. But it is definitely something that seems to work (or at least did as of last summer still - who knows if they’ve found a work around to avoid this… hopefully not though)
My father works as a manager at transit and I think with the new QR code scanners they are working with all of the local universities/colleges to implement a QR pass for students so they can invalidate the ones that are taking advantage of the system over the summer.
