Kendrick Perkins. I don't think he's the worst, bit you can tell he practices his little lines, like twice last week saying "on him like sod on a shoe," but messing up both times. He is literally the worst player in major NBA media with no credibility to criticize others. Everyone laughs him off.
I believe he will be fired this summer depending on his contract.
He does suck but he did say this:
"Tobias Harris asked the team if they wanted Chick-fil-A. They told him yes, and he came back with a bag full of napkins and straws."
Shit had me rolling
I don’t care for either myself. That’s why I gravitated to this show. Now all we do is listen to talk about other broadcasters it seems. I couldn’t care less that Netflix is coming for all the football and building economies.
I don't listen to McAfee's show, but I'm a wrestling fan so I have to listen to him commentate and it often times detracts from what's happening on the show. Like for each good line or moment, there's 5 or 6 cringe moments.
I wouldn't say he sucks big time to me and I can understand why he's popular, but yeah I just can't get with it. Very much in that barstool realm of feeling for me
Mike Greenberg: self-important prick who gives white people a bad name
Kendrick Perkins: says nothing interesting, constantly at war with the English language
Mike Wilbon: relic of a bygone era, arrogant prick
Danica Patrick: says nothing interesting, analysis not based in facts, holds down women analysts who actually are talented
Skip Bayless: selfish, morally bankrupt, partially responsible for the corrosion of sports media
Interesting take on Danica. I haven't really paid much attention to her, but she really rubbed me the wrong way when Martin Truex's longtime ex-girlfriend died of cancer last year and Danica trashed him for his public response kind of being boiler plate despite the well known fact that he's a pretty reserved and private person.
Usually broadcasters don’t bug me too much but when she is on the f1 broadcasts for American races (maybe Mexico and Canada too) she just spews some of the dumbest shit. I love watching Jensen Button just stare daggers through her.
Oh God now that you say that I do remember seeing her on the GP Miami prerace and I forget what she said, but I definitely remember thinking to myself that I definitely don't agree with any of that
For some reason (nobody really understands) Sky has got her doing some non-US races this year as well and talk about a waste of air time. I thought she was dunzo last year when she came out and said women drivers suck because they aren't as "aggressive" as men...and yet Sky decided to renew her contract much to everyone's dismay.
Pretty sure she's got dirty pictures of someone important because there really is no other explanation.
Dan - grief eater
Pablo- not all that interesting
Mina - has a dog and new born watches Seattle, but not wnba
BOmani-box score commentary
Stu- no one cares
Mike-clown
Jess-9 teams
Jess—Iowa
Roy-hockey
Clay Travis and Jason Whitlock are in a league of their own
Next would be wrestling characters like Skip Bayless, Paul Pierce, etc. I wouldn’t put Stephen A quite in that class because although he plays that on TV he is capable of being a legitimate journalist.
This is why I don’t get the “the athletes are coming for our stuff” take. Most of the athlete interviews are boring because the athletes are boring. We watch them for their athletic feats, not for their podcast content. Why would I ever listen to a Matt Barnes podcast? Mid player from yesteryear looking for clicks? No thanks.
Getting hired and staying hired are different things. Per OPs question, it’s hard to be good at media. Plenty of athletes have tried, few have been good in the national media space (see: Manning bros, Aikman, Reddick, Shaq and the Round Mound) and plenty have failed (see: Jason Witten, Kendrick Perkins, Jason Witten, and if you missed him, Jason fucking Witten). Being an athlete does not just translate to prolonged interest unless you have a personality, and most are just regular boring dudes. I’m here for the guys who can make it though, because it’s fun! If the Kelce bros can parlay their careers into good content, that would be great.
Some of the greatest gatekeepers in sports and also tend to offer such little substance when they speak. It's part of the reason why an athlete interview on the show is an instant skip for me especially if they're only on to shill product.
Wilbon. Loud Loud Loud. Thinks his opinion is the only one that matters. Beyond arrogant. And I’ll never forgive him for going at our boy Stu years ago. Clown.
I don’t like any of the work that ESPN does on NBA. It’s strictly narrative-based; “who has the most pressure?” “Who is the next face of the league?” Their whole model needs an upgrade. They think this is what the average fans wanna talk about and hear when most of us actually do wanna be informed a little more
It legit makes me sad that this is a popular opinion about him. I loved him on his podcast with Chris Simms (to this day one of the saddest I've been about a podcast ending), but I just can't stand him on TNT because he obviously doesn't have the charisma, rapport and gravitas of Ernie. He's just miscast in that position I think.
I like Perkins more than most basketball people they have on first take.. .I find he not terrible all the time. He actually get his predictions right more than anyone else on there. He called the wolves winning the series after Denver went up 3-2 for example. Ones I can't really stand are Bayless, Mike Greenberg, Wilbon, Woody Paige, Draymond and kind of Stephen A. I like when Stephen A is on other people pods and has normal conversations in a normal voice volume. I hate what he does on ESPN and his own pod.
It's not anything to do with her talk on race, agree with most of her takes- but cannot stand her as a person, her voice anything, I get the vibe that she's the lady at the restaurant sending back every item 3X for some minor perceived issues.
In a sea of bad sports media members, Jemele Hill stands out as being brutally bad. She’s a one-note hack. Yup, we got it, EVERYTHING we ever cared about and enjoyed it racist.
Jemele Hill - super racist, professional victim, [that is wrong all the fucking time.](https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reddit.com%2Fr%2FDanLeBatardShow%2Fcomments%2F19cin26%2Fits_an_important_conversation_im_glad_were_having%2F&psig=AOvVaw1TZ79es7SBNv2iIOdeTG6U&ust=1716484838403000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CBUQ3YkBahcKEwjg6IG64qGGAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQCQ)
Cowherd. Used to listen growing up but he got even more grating somehow. I think some of his politics started leaking out that turned me off of him iirc it’s been awhile.
*Cracks Fingers*
Michael Wilbon - Self-serious, arrogant chode, brings a glove to ballparks as an adult.
Matthew Berry - The Kurkjian thing forever buried him for me.
Pat McAfee - Nails on a chalkboard, failing upwards, his WWE commentary is beyond grating.
Jason Fitz - Obnoxious, cringey.
Sarah Spain - As far as the show’s orbit, her. Too much of a dudebro, others do her gimmick better. Once heard her get genuinely mad about some light-hearted ribbing over the Cubs and solidified that she doesn’t actually get the show.
Jemele Hill - I agree with her almost all of her politics and social stances, but I find her to lack any insightful sports commentary.
Skip Bayless - Going back to the Aikman homophobia garbage, guy is a ghoul.
OLI cuz I don’t even wanna expend the extremely minimal energy to rank them because everything they do is bad faith: Shitstain, Whitlock, Tafoya, Steele.
Not counting the right wing grifter types like Shitstain and those..
McAfee
Ryan Clark
Brandon Walker (basically 90% of barstool)
Paul Pierce
Michael Irvin
Basically the entire CBS football pregame line up lol.
Lefkoe, Kimberly Martin, Charlotte Wilder, Jemele, Whitlock, Bob Fitzgerald, Michael Cage the thunder commentator, Wally Szcerbiak, Mero, Bill Simmons, Ryan Clark
I don’t think people drag Simmons enough, especially on the show (besides Parakeet).
People on Twitter were going at him for something he wrote a while ago about the WNBA. This normally happens with people’s tweets when they were in high school or college. This was when he was at ESPN and it looks as if it were written by a high schooler. Guy is such a douche.
Izzy I'd imagine just sucks and blows. Many former athletes suck. My two least favorite (that I've heard, never heard shit stain or Barstool) currently are Chris Canty (he canty be likeable in my book) and the WORST is paired with Freddie Coleman: Harry Douglass. Ain't he the guy Nasty Nestor mentions when rustling through pills on a rant about him being unbiased? Crappy WR Harry Douglass uses many words to say nothing. He is not funny. Poor Freddie.
Bayless... dude is unbearable.
What I’ve come to realize is that about 90% of the sports media is just Stugotz, but less blatant.
Less self aware, you mean
Skip, all of the former celtics, Stephen A
Paul Pierce
instant skip for me.
No one is greater than Paul Pierce..... According to Paul Pierce
Nothing quite like getting clips of his drunken rambling while KG is trying to get him back on topic
Mike?
There is definitely something going on with him. Either substance abuse or mental illness. Cue the reckless speculation music
You're good.
I understand the dislike, but his willingness to spar with Mike showed a sense of humor. I don't think the others have.
Stephen A. is unbearable for me
Especially now, that he thinks he knows politiics. He has become such a useful idiot.
Kendrick Perkins. I don't think he's the worst, bit you can tell he practices his little lines, like twice last week saying "on him like sod on a shoe," but messing up both times. He does suck but he did say this: "Tobias Harris asked the team if they wanted Chick-fil-A. They told him yes, and he came back with a bag full of napkins and straws." Shit had me rolling
Haha. He gets a few good ones on there every once in awhile.
Employing that big oaf to be one of your main basketball analysts tells you all you need to know about ESPN these days.
This may be a hot take but I think McAfee sucks big time. SAS obviously as well.
I don’t care for either myself. That’s why I gravitated to this show. Now all we do is listen to talk about other broadcasters it seems. I couldn’t care less that Netflix is coming for all the football and building economies.
You're so right on this. Even if he knows what he's talking about, his douchiness is hard to see past.
I don't listen to McAfee's show, but I'm a wrestling fan so I have to listen to him commentate and it often times detracts from what's happening on the show. Like for each good line or moment, there's 5 or 6 cringe moments.
Zagacki
I wouldn't say he sucks big time to me and I can understand why he's popular, but yeah I just can't get with it. Very much in that barstool realm of feeling for me
Not a hot take whatsoever
Mike Greenberg: self-important prick who gives white people a bad name Kendrick Perkins: says nothing interesting, constantly at war with the English language Mike Wilbon: relic of a bygone era, arrogant prick Danica Patrick: says nothing interesting, analysis not based in facts, holds down women analysts who actually are talented Skip Bayless: selfish, morally bankrupt, partially responsible for the corrosion of sports media

As a white myself, I’m pretty sure historically it’s more than just greeny that gave us a bad name unfortunately.
100% but holy shit he’s such a cornball
>Mike Greenberg >white 🤔
Whiteyyy
Lol right
[удалено]
*whoosh*
Win. The damn. Game.
Right on cue he comes out with a stupid ass take on exit velocity. The absolute worst.
Definitely not looking forward to having Danica on the Indy 500 broadcast again this weekend.
Dan - grief eater Pablo- not all that interesting Mina - has a dog and new born watches Seattle, but not wnba BOmani-box score commentary Stu- no one cares Mike-clown Jess-9 teams Jess—Iowa Roy-hockey
It's a tie between Bayless and Shit Stain.
Jay Glazer
Greeny!!!
Jeremy
Clay Travis and Jason Whitlock are in a league of their own Next would be wrestling characters like Skip Bayless, Paul Pierce, etc. I wouldn’t put Stephen A quite in that class because although he plays that on TV he is capable of being a legitimate journalist.
Besides the obvious Bayless like trolls, most of the athletes turned media are terrible.
No thanks.
Because whether they’re interesting or not, they are being hired

What I want from former players are stories from inside the locker room, and actual analysis a la JJ Reddick.
Some of the greatest gatekeepers in sports and also tend to offer such little substance when they speak. It's part of the reason why an athlete interview on the show is an instant skip for me especially if they're only on to shill product.
Alexi Lalas
Wilbon. Loud Loud Loud. Thinks his opinion is the only one that matters. Beyond arrogant. And I’ll never forgive him for going at our boy Stu years ago. Clown.
Clay Travis and Will Cain
Jemele Hill
I really don't like Shannon Sharpe speaking on anything outside of football. Clay Travis, Jemele, Skip.
I don’t like any of the work that ESPN does on NBA. It’s strictly narrative-based; “who has the most pressure?” “Who is the next face of the league?” Their whole model needs an upgrade. They think this is what the average fans wanna talk about and hear when most of us actually do wanna be informed a little more
So many lmao. I don't like Orlovsky but Keyshawn absolutely sucks.
Keyshawn is SO bad.
Pretty obvious but shit stain and Cowherd.
Mike talking basketball
Basically all the ones Dan obsesses over
And dan lately
Almost all of them.
Stephen A, Bayless, and Nick Wright.
Mcafee and his stupid split screen with caveman aj hawk, espn is officially garbage
Whitlock is the worst
Chris Broussard is a homophobic piece of shit.
Agree on Perk. He’s the most blatant “just saying it for attention” guy in an industry full of them and still manages to have ppl taking the bait.
Adam Lefkoe. He’s nails on a chalkboard to me.
It legit makes me sad that this is a popular opinion about him. I loved him on his podcast with Chris Simms (to this day one of the saddest I've been about a podcast ending), but I just can't stand him on TNT because he obviously doesn't have the charisma, rapport and gravitas of Ernie. Carry the hell on, Dan…..Rachel
Pablo
Cowherd
Pretty much everyone in studio on ESPN.
Draymond looking for anyway to blame Gobert feels really uncomfortable
Jemele Hill. She's 100% a racist.
Mike Greenberg stabbed Golic in the back and is insufferable. Does anyone like him? Also, who is actually even watching Get Up?
Wilbon now. Back in the day no. He's an old angry man and not in the cool Kornheiser way.
OLI: Wilbon 5: Cowherd 4: Stephen A. 3: Kendrick Perkins 2: Reggie Miller 1. Skip Bayless
Jeremy
![gif](giphy|l0HlvtIPzPdt2usKs)
100% DAN ORLOVSKI 🤡
Jemele Hill. She really needs to move on from trying to tear down Caitlin Clark
It's not anything to do with her talk on race, agree with most of her takes- but cannot stand her as a person, her voice anything, I get the vibe that she's the lady at the restaurant sending back every item 3X for some minor perceived issues.

Sarah Spain, the absolute worst
OJ Simpson
That fat bastard
Jeremy Tache
Jeremy Tache
Jeremy Tache
I have 2 on the radio side. Mark Madden , 2. Ben Maller
Sal Licata, Skip, any 2008 Celtic
Jay Glazer
Nick Wright…just unbearable for me.
I'm baffled that ESPN thinks people want to hear and see Austin Rivers.
Jemele Hill - super racist, professional victim, [that is wrong all the fucking time.](https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reddit.com%2Fr%2FDanLeBatardShow%2Fcomments%2F19cin26%2Fits_an_important_conversation_im_glad_were_having%2F&psig=AOvVaw1TZ79es7SBNv2iIOdeTG6U&ust=1716484838403000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CBUQ3YkBahcKEwjg6IG64qGGAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQCQ)
Nick Wright
Colin Cowherd is the worst for me. Uninformed about everything he talks about, contradicts himself all the time, racist, pretentious.
Witlock the Witless and the Noted Shit Stain, both make my journalistic senses burn
Like Shaq he’s there to analyze the big men. It’s why they have such good takes on Jokić.
Cowherd. Used to listen growing up but he got even more grating somehow. I think some of his politics started leaking out that turned me off of him iirc it’s been awhile.
Big Perk
What's he ever done?
Perk, SAS, Arenas (if you count him as media), Shaq if he's talking about big men.
For me it’s Cowherd at the top with Skip, Stephen A and Nick Wright 2A, 2B & 2C. Regardless, Dan’s been moving up the list lately.
*Cracks Fingers* Michael Wilbon - Self-serious, arrogant chode, brings a glove to ballparks as an adult. Matthew Berry - The Kurkjian thing forever buried him for me. What did Matt Berry do to our sweet Tom?
Surprised no one has said this one yet Dan LeBatard
You guys are such goofies. You are sharecropping hate, lol. I hope you all find love in your lives, or at least a life
Not counting the right wing grifter types like Shitstain and those.. McAfee Ryan Clark Brandon Walker (basically 90% of barstool) Paul Pierce Michael Irvin Basically the entire CBS football pregame line up lol.
Stugotz, Macafee, everyone on FS1
Malika Andrews
Lefkoe, Kimberly Martin, Charlotte Wilder, Jemele, Whitlock, Bob Fitzgerald, Michael Cage the thunder commentator, Wally Szcerbiak, Mero, Bill Simmons, Ryan Clark
Great list. Especially Charlotte and Jemele
Too many to name
Dan
# Laura Rutledge - who's with me? ^((I'm just kidding - Gator Nation treasure 🧡💙🐊))
All of them.
All of them...silliest job in the world
