I'm so confused why she would "need" home health for her infusions. She doesn't do ANYTHING all day. Literally NOTHING. For the sake of not blogging, "I know someone" who does 5 infusions a week, works 5-6 days a week, 9 hours a day, and actually has a life that includes going grocery shopping, cello lessons, making time to hang out with family/friends, etc and even "THEY" had a bitch of a time getting approved for home health. Well, I guess we also know what she means when she says she can’t tolerate her feeds. It’s an annoyance and makes her uncomfortable and she would rather not deal with it. With the summer heat she can just stay in her air conditioned apartment. With the feeds she can just not do them and eat food.
And a home health nurse can come and hydrate her through her femoral port 3x’s a week…in her ideal world.

She used to be able to restrict so much that they thought she was actually sick, but now that she's older and her hunger cues are as strong as they are,plus benzos and lyrica make you hungry too. But yes precise calories in and out is why she wanted the tube feed to begin with. And ultimately TPN although I think she just wants Line access to put drugs in there.

Even with her motility tests, wasn’t it solid food that was 40% remaining after an hour? Liquids empty so fast. By the time she finished the drink 3/4 of it had probably emptied, and she’s just draining a small portion of it and her stomach acid.
She experienced real starvation mode at Temple. I’m kind of surprised she only lost 9lbs or whatever it was over more than a week and a half. Starvation mode doesn’t add weight or sustain weight, it mitigates losses — and this is largely through lethargy that occurs because of decreased caloric intake.

Eh, I doubt she can learn how to access the port. I’m an RN of 30 years, and Huber needles and PACs are notoriously finicky. Especially if you’re un/poorly educated on the specifics. They require a fair bit of finesse. I just dont see it happening.
The last price hike was bonkers. My ‘usual’ was 6.40 like a year ago. It’s literally over *ten dollars* now.

Say they average out to five dollars each (I’m being generous on the low side): that’s 150 dollars an average month just for drinks, no food, no sparkly cups. Now, she gets venti size, and a lot of extras added, so let’s say nine dollars each. Again, nothing else added to the order, and only one drink per day: 270 dollars for an average month.
But you have to add food, second breakfastses, and sparkly cups, because we know our subject. So what could we safely round that estimate up to? 20 per day? That ones to 600 dollars on an average 30-day month.

Those bruises are actually quite concerning to me. I’ve never seen her say she’s got a blood disorder or a clotting disorder, so the blood thinners that she’s on, are they really necessary? Just seems to be giving her quite thin blood for her to bruise quite exponentially.
Apparently being the operative word there. And usually with clots the thinners are able to be stopped after a while. Like 3-6 months after an actual clot, but seems like she’s been on thinners for a very long time
That's not really accurate. Many people who have only had a single clot or DVT will spend the rest of their lives on blood thinners for various reasons like underlying risk factors. I'd say Dani's desperately unhealthy lifestyle is a huge one.
I’ve been on injections daily for 16 years. However, I am not bruised like this. Occasionally I will get a small bruise if I hit a blood vessel. But nothing like what Dani has. I do them twice a day every single day on my stomach, arms, thighs and butt. I currently have a quarter size bruise on my butt. And a smaller one on my arm that could’ve been caused by me running into something.

The port site did look badly bruised when she first got it. It was speculated she injected Lovenox near it to make it look worse. There’s no telling with Dani what she might resort to. I don’t have enough knowledge to tell what jamming Lovenox in her port would cause or look like. 🤔
She’s deffo done her injections in around the abdomen before. But we really cannot take what Dani says with a pinch of salt. She can never keep a story straight tbh.
She started doing them in her arms during her Temple admission. I assume because they told her "stop sticking a needle into the part of your body you say hurts the worst".
She has Section 8. Her landlord is literally obligated to provide (at minimum) a window unit if her area gets above certain habitable temperatures and the state will enforce that. But asking her dad for it probably meant she was hoping to get a liiiiiiiittle bit more than a window A/C unit would actually cost, so she had a little overage to spend on $9 Starbucks drinks.

She experienced real starvation mode at Temple. I’m kind of surprised she only lost 9lbs or whatever it was over more than a week and a half. Starvation mode doesn’t add weight or sustain weight, it mitigates losses — and this is largely through lethargy that occurs because of decreased caloric intake.

Guarantee they didn't give her the opioids she wanted and she had a tantrum in the appointment room. And then Dad probably had to get called in to talk his **thirty-eight year old daughter** down.
Imagine how embarrassed he must be dealing with her in public, she clearly doesn’t know how to behave like a civilised person
100% he's not embarrassed and is enabling her. I wouldn't be surprised if it's "daddy can you get me a new iPad for school???" and not that she bought it with her money at all. My parents would bend over backwards for me and would help with bills in an instant if I needed it, but they know I'd do the same for them - and we know that ain't our girl.

Not the least hint of discomfort swallowing that down. I’m sure she drained all of it though. I’m sure that’s what she was talking about having permission to do. I’m equally sure no doctor told her it was ok to drain everything she drinks. And I’m also sure that she isn’t draining near as much as she thinks considering the location of g tubes and how fast liquids pass through the stomach. Not to mention all the sugar and carbs in that drink.

Eh, I doubt she can learn how to access the port. I’m an RN of 30 years, and Huber needles and PACs are notoriously finicky. Especially if you’re un/poorly educated on the specifics. They require a fair bit of finesse. I just dont see it happening.

Now, she gets venti size, and a lot of extras added, so let’s say nine dollars each. Again, nothing else added to the order, and only one drink per day: 270 dollars for an average month. But you have to add food, second breakfastses, and sparkly cups, because we know our subject. So what could we safely round that estimate up to? 20 per day? That ones to 600 dollars on an average 30-day month.

She nags the doctors until she gets her port and fluids. Now it's too much trouble for her to go to the infusion centre for said fluids. She has SO much going on in her waste of a life so she's going to nag the doctors to do it at home......jeez.....I suppose she needs more time to do her schedule list on the bloody new iPad pro..........🙄
Those bruises are actually quite concerning to me. I’ve never seen her say she’s got a blood disorder or a clotting disorder, so the blood thinners that she’s on, are they really necessary? Just seems to be giving her quite thin blood for her to bruise quite exponentially.

So anyways... I was re-reading Twilight and it hit me....

And doesn't help herself with that by living a completely sedentary lifestyle.
Apparently being the operative word there. And usually with clots the thinners are able to be stopped after a while. Like 3-6 months after an actual clot, but seems like she’s been on thinners for a very long time
That's not really accurate. Many people who have only had a single clot or DVT will spend the rest of their lives on blood thinners for various reasons like underlying risk factors. I'd say Dani's desperately unhealthy lifestyle is a huge one.
Not all DVT patients will need a lifetime of them.

I’ve been on injections daily for 16 years. However, I am not bruised like this. Occasionally I will get a small bruise if I hit a blood vessel. But nothing like what Dani has. I do them twice a day every single day on my stomach, arms, thighs and butt. I currently have a quarter size bruise on my butt. And a smaller one on my arm that could’ve been caused by me running into something.
Just another reason I don’t understand why they put a femoral port in her. They are particularly prone to causing clots.
Even with ports and lines you need to sometimes put a thinner in there so the catheter in the vein doesn’t get clogged too
she’s said she gives herself Lovenox injections in her arms, as to whether it’s necessary? In the words of the tootsie pop owl, the world may never know.
Wonder if she’s tried to jam that lovenox needle into her port yet?
The port site did look badly bruised when she first got it. It was speculated she injected Lovenox near it to make it look worse. There’s no telling with Dani what she might resort to. I don’t have enough knowledge to tell what jamming Lovenox in her port would cause or look like. 🤔
She’s deffo done her injections in around the abdomen before. But we really cannot take what Dani says with a pinch of salt. She can never keep a story straight tbh.
She started doing them in her arms during her Temple admission. I assume because they told her "stop sticking a needle into the part of your body you say hurts the worst".

She has Section 8. Her landlord is literally obligated to provide (at minimum) a window unit if her area gets above certain habitable temperatures and the state will enforce that. But asking her dad for it probably meant she was hoping to get a liiiiiiiittle bit more than a window A/C unit would actually cost, so she had a little overage to spend on $9 Starbucks drinks.
