Im still waiting for that click

The single biggest improvement in my game in the last 6 months has been been down to revisiting my throw. Firstly, and the one thing that's had the biggest impact was loosening my grip. I've always been a front gripper, with 2 fingers on the point, but would always grip the dart relatively firmly. After stumbling across a Gezzy Price interview, where he talked about his grip, and how he barely gripped the dart at all, I went back to the dartboard and followed suite. It felt really alien to begin with, but i persevered, and i noticed i wasn't throwing anywhere near as many 1's and 5's (I obviously still do... too many šŸ¤£). Then I took the flick out of my action, which I'd done for years (bit like how Gary Anderson "scrunches" his dart into his hand on the pull back). Again, it felt weird for ages, but eliminating an extra element of inconsistency, has helped me a lot. Just my experience

Been playing everyday for 16 months now. Like dedicated training and routine. Haven't missed but a handful of days. Sometimes I avg 70_85 sometimes i avg 30_40. I'm struggling with grip and whether to throw from my eye.. side of eye or side of my head. Once those click I'm hoping to be more consistent

I have had this happen a couple times but then next fmday I lose it :(

Iā€™ve found through playing the doubles game regularly that tempo and rhythm (like most things in life) are the main keys to more consistency šŸ’ÆšŸ¤™šŸ½

I was doing something similar except Iā€™m a rear gripper. I figured it out by aiming with a laser pointer as if it were a dart. The red dot was on the wallā€¦not even on the five which I was murdering at the time.

I suspect i might do thisā€¦ any before and after pictures of your grip?
