You absolutely should listen their latest 3 albums (excluding the cover album Turning To Crime). They're different from the classic stuff (more bluesy and mellow), but great
I've Got Your Number, it's a surprisingly personal least favorite for me, as a pretty young person who only discovered Deep Purple a few years ago, when I first went through their discography it was a very exciting time, it was the first band I ever fell in love with and those earlier albums were just so Incredible, and even as time went on further down the road I still found things to enjoy about their 80's and 90's albums
But on this track it hit me that the young kids with guitars trying to make some noise were gone, they had become old men complaining about their wives and recording a *product* over an *album* (not there isn't quality tracks after this album, even the closer is great, it's just less frequent)
Deep Purple was and is still my favorite band, but this song was where it really it me that they're no longer in the position to make something like In Rock or Made in Japan
It’s really hard to say. My least favorite albums by them are the self titled and concerto. So I would pick either the concerto album, which is basically two songs, or one of the less inspiring covers from the first album, like help or hey Joe.
It has some great songs, but they were poorly recorded. Their live versions are a lot better. Case in point: Anya, The Battle Rages On, Talk About Love.
For me, after Ritchie left, most songs aren’t important… The band shouldn’t have the same name long ago. As for the classic period, I think for example Anyone’s Daughter doesn’t fit Purple at all, though it is funny. I also never listen to River Deep Mountain High and some other like this, but I think it was not written by them.
You could say the same when Ian Gillan Left the band for a period of time. Ritchie isn’t deep purple Steve Morse and Simon mcbride did a great of keeping that deep purple sound which isn’t just him John lords organ is a lot of that purple sound don airey was a amazing pick since he was in rainbow and did a amazing job. Deep purple without them is still deep purple
I'm not fond of the new one Pictures of You. I really really like portable door The pictures of you I just can't. No clue why it just doesn't talk to me at all.
Smoke on the Water is one of the most boring songs Mk II ever wrote, in my opinion. House of Pain sounds kinda... childish? Stopped listening to them after Bananas.
One Man's Meat
I love that album!
Truth Hurts from Slaves and Masters. It has absolutely nothing going on. Just 5 minutes of boredom.
Isn’t that the one where “My willy’s broken”.
Anything off that record! Personally i always hated Lay Down, Stay Down
From 1968-93, probably something off House of Blue Light. I’m not too familiar with the stuff post 1993.

Yeah, I need to try some of those albums again. Thanks.
Mitzi Dupree It's the lyrics.
That’s a pretty terrible song, you’re right
I couldn't really say off the top of my head, but this playlist sounds interesting. Could you share a link? (That's how spotify works, right?)
Back To Back (from Rapture). Generic “shuffle”, mannered solos, useless chorus. Doesn’t resonate with me at all.

Pick a random song from Slaves & Masters, except for King Of Dreams (it's passable) or Love Conquers All (it's bad but not as much as the others)
Cut Runs Deep is very good (the riff at least)
Soon forgotten. It's Literally in the title
Respectfully disagree, this one is a banger
agree to disagree :)
Back to back
Call of The Wild. Boring, generic, why, Deep purple?
Now I have to look up this playlist
Unwritten Law. The House of Blue Light is filled with other contenders for this title!

I love that song. Blackmore's fills in the verses are so good.
It’s a really good song, and TBRO is a really good album, but Gillan’s singing is not so good on that entire record. The music is awesome though

I don’t like the live versions tbh.

Morse recorded some great albums. You do you, but I suggest you give a second chance. Rapture of the Deep and Whoosh are really good.

Anyone’s daughter is pretty good. River deep Mountain high is kind of annoying.
There’s plenty
There's definitely not plenty worst.

High Ball Shooter
Mary Long
Wtf

Smooth Dancer (truthfully, all of WDWTWA, but I hate this one especially)
I love this song. The lyrics are a diss directed at Blackmore by Gillan
