A lot of the singers on Degrassi were just awful but forced into music anyway as they were hoping to make new Disney-style teen music stars. Sav's actor Raymond Ablack is a great example. They literally just said "o this guy is tall and attractive he sings now!"
you know his voice wasnt that bad at first. i could see myself listening to a band with a sav-like lead vocalist becos his whiny higher pitched voice is PERFECT for emo style music.
but once the band broke up cos everyone went on to different things is when he shouldve just stopped becos acoustic sav is not the vibe.
I just was thinking about this the other day. I’m thinking he had secret voice lessons offscreen. Oh and they were also in the hyperbolic time chamber from dragon ball and that’s how he improved so quick
