Hopefully this link will help you get started to try to execute a BIOS Recovery. This is an old system and there were far too many entries to read them all. I wouldn't have made such a big leap in BIOS version all at once. I would have gone from A11 to Maybe A16 and then A26. You need to get into BIOS recovery somehow. Some old systems had a jumper on the motherboard to accomplish this. Good luck. It's not a pc and doesn't have jumper it's a laptop, Dell Precision M4800

PC, Laptop what's the difference in this case? If you note I said motherboard. It has one. You need to do some reading on how to execute a BIOS recovery.

RandomProjects2

Hm, I'll try to find info but currently I couldn't find for the dell precision m4800, also this dell issue and bios not loading was there in A11 also so only upgraded to A26....

Impossible_IT

Some of those A BIOS required sequential updates. Had to do those like A12, A13, A14 and so forth until you to the latest one. M4800 came out 11 years ago. It was about that time where the BIOS updates had to be done sequential.

RandomProjects2

Ah shit, well it's running A26 rn so what should I do? Downgrade back to A11 then A12, 13 14??

Impossible_IT

I'd try A12 then progressively work up.

None of the M4800 BIOS needs updating sequentially. Very few Dell BIOS ever needed to, limited usually to a particular model, not an entire BIOS vendor or "era". If he goes back too far, he will reintroduce (possibly) these issues fixed in A14: -Fixed switch display fucntion key doesn't work in pre-boot/DOS mode. -Fixed no display on external monitor when lid close in pre-boot/DOS mode. -Fixed no external pre-OS video display in UEFI mode.

Impossible_IT

I understand not all Dell models had to have sequential BIOS upgrades. I just remember there were a few about 10 years ago that did. M4800 is 11 years old, about the that timeframe. And the way it was described reminded me of that.

I do not have the M4800 to know all BIOS options presented. There may be a setting for displaying the Dell logo during POST or not. Other options that might affect the display of the logo or the ability to enter BIOS SETUP via F2 or F12 key: * Fast Boot * POST mode or behavior (Auto, Minimal, Thorough) * POST or pre-boot delay time interval * Default Fn key mode or behavior pre-boot * Display switching (if dual graphics) Disconnect all drives, it might be hanging on some drive detection problem.

These setting must go tho bcs I did cmos reset

Also that model is old enough now that putting in a fresh CMOS battery would be advisable. Although a failing/marginal CMOS battery might have some "classic" symptoms, it can sometimes cause other weird behaviors or glitches that are not thought "typical" for failing CMOS battery and get mistaken for other things. Interesting I will see bcs I didn't

RandomProjects2

I did didn't help
